I stayed here on a solo trip. Because it is small, everything is well cared for, making it a very pleasant Accommodation. From the aroma scents to the polished furnishings, attention to detail can be felt throughout, and the whole Accommodation has a warm wooden feel. The corner Room by the clear stream also had a raised terrace area where I could relax. Since there are only a few Rooms, I was able to enjoy the bath without overlapping with other guests and soak at ease. Thank you very much—I would love to stop by again.

Although it’s a secluded Accommodation deep in the mountains, it’s relatively easy to access by car and not difficult to reach. The Accommodation features classic, traditional Japanese architecture, yet it feels clean and has been thoughtfully renovated for comfort and ease of use. It was clear how much care goes into its upkeep, which I truly admire. The surrounding nature is lush, and the greenery and gentle sound of the river are very soothing. That said, the bedding mattress felt a bit firm for me personally, which was a small minus point (I didn’t wake up sore the next morning, so this is purely my personal impression). The hot spring source is around 37°C and lukewarm, but there are also heated baths, so it wasn’t an issue. If I had one wish: since I’m not fond of lukewarm water, I would have liked the heated tub to be larger. Meals were mainly simple countryside dishes, but everything was very delicious. Younger guests might find it a little light; in that case, I recommend ordering additional dishes. For us it was just the right amount—and we could get refills of rice—so we were very satisfied. Many of the staff were young, but they were always smiling and pleasant, with excellent attentiveness and consideration. This is an outstanding Accommodation that makes Japanese guests feel at ease—I hope it never changes. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

At IKYU, it was categorized as casual, but we enjoyed a luxurious Onsen experience that felt like staying at a private villa. The Room had a spacious washroom, and the toilet being separate was also convenient. The heater in the Room was turned on in advance, so we stayed warm without needing to use the air conditioner. Various thoughtful touches were noticeable throughout, and I heard that adjustments are made regularly. It had such a pleasant atmosphere that made us wish to stay longer. Here are some points of concern: It would be helpful if spare foot mats were provided for the private bath so they can be replaced after use. The abundance of wash towels was very convenient. A single fresh flower in the Room would add charm since there were flowers in the dining area. During meal service, providing more details about local ingredients or cooking methods would be appreciated by travelers—it may require extra effort from staff but makes for enjoyable conversations while savoring meals. Having a menu list would also enhance the dining experience further.

Although we arrived in rainy weather, we were warmly welcomed by many staff members, making for a wonderful start that almost felt more than we deserved. The building, designated as a Tangible Cultural Property, has a rich sense of history, yet it is meticulously maintained throughout, allowing us to relax in complete comfort. In addition to the pleasantly warm and soothing Onsen, the cuisine was truly outstanding. On departure, they even took a complimentary commemorative photo and later sent it to our home—such a thoughtful gesture that made this an unforgettable memory. Everything was exceptional, including the hospitality, and this is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

Over the past few years, this Accommodation has become a place our family wants to visit at least once a year, and both kids and adults are always completely satisfied. This summer vacation we weren’t planning a trip to the Izu area, so we thought a summer stay might not be possible—but when we learned about the summer vacation discount offer, we knew we had to go and made a last-minute Reservation. With prices rising everywhere, we truly appreciate this thoughtful gesture from the Facility. As always, every staff member—from arrival to departure—shows wonderful hospitality that makes for a genuinely relaxing stay. The Facility is also very clean. The summer vacation pop-up stalls were unexpectedly enjoyed more by the adults than the kids; it was fun seeing everyone feel like children again. It was disappointing that we couldn’t play tennis due to construction on the tennis courts, but there were so many enjoyable activities that we barely had enough time. We also love the surrounding satoyama countryside nature, so next time we’d like to stay in spring.

Three generations of our family, including myself, stayed here. We truly appreciated the thoughtful care shown throughout our stay, especially the consideration for my mother, who has difficulty walking, and we were able to relax comfortably. When we visit Arima Onsen again, we would love to stay here. Thank you very much.

Thank you for taking care of our family. We visit Izu, which we love, several times a year, but in recent years it has been difficult for all of us to travel together. This time, our two children brought us to Gyokusui, a place I had been saying for a long time that I wanted to visit. Since we live in a landlocked prefecture, we tend to choose an Accommodation near the sea, but choosing Gyokusui this time was absolutely the right decision. It rained lightly on and off over the two days, but it was truly a fulfilling stay at the Accommodation. The greenery outside the window was so vivid, and everything—the private baths, large public bath, and open-air bath—was at just the right temperature and spotlessly clean and beautiful throughout. As there were five adults this time, instead of a Room with an open-air bath, we chose a Room with a footbath and a spacious terrace with great views. We relaxed while looking out at the garden and chatting. The meals were beautiful to look at and delicious as well—we all ate too much at both breakfast and dinner. No matter where you are in the Accommodation, it’s soothing. Thank you very much for such a wonderful time.

From the moment we arrived, your attentive yet warmly familiar hospitality was perfectly balanced. The entire property was kept impeccably clean and well maintained. The furnishings, interior design, fragrance, and tableware— everything reflected consistently high-quality service throughout. If you’re staying in Gero for the architecture, Yunoshimakan is the place; if you’re staying for great food, I’d say this is it—Suimeien. Every dish was delicious, and the ayu sweetfish in particular was outstanding. The annex where we stayed was an adults-only area, which may be why it was so quiet at night. I was able to truly relax for the first time in a while. It also felt special to have access to a private Onsen reserved exclusively for annex guests—it was a fun and memorable experience. Both large public baths had towels available at the entrance, so there was no need to go back to the Room to get one. I could enjoy the Onsen anytime on a whim without bringing anything with me. (I especially liked the large bath on the first floor.) There is also a spot inside where you can enjoy coffee while looking outside; after breakfast, I spent a relaxing time reading there. I was amazed at how spotless everything was throughout the property—surely thanks to the excellent work of your housekeeping staff. It truly became a wonderful trip. Thank you very much. I will definitely stay again.

We stayed here for a birthday trip, and it truly was a completely satisfying stay. Dinner was top-class in every respect—flavor, presentation, and ingredient quality—and the smoked splendid alfonsino was especially outstanding. They also kindly prepared a special birthday message plate at dinner, which made us very happy. The restaurant service and atmosphere were wonderful as well. The Japanese breakfast the next morning was also high quality, and the presentation using a wooden bento box felt fresh and memorable. The Room was very spacious, and the ocean view from the second floor was breathtaking—sea and sky blending into one. Soaking in the open-air bath (Onsen) while gazing at the moon was an indescribably blissful moment. With no TV intentionally provided, we were able to enjoy a digital detox and fully immerse ourselves in nature. Our daughter loved the pool too, so I highly recommend it for families with children. The lounge bar offered a wide variety of drinks and alcohol, and it was convenient and appreciated that we could bring them back to our Room. We would definitely like to stay again.

The meals, hospitality, Room, views, and bath—everything made for a wonderful stay. I have never had rice this delicious before. The tea was also excellent, and the grilled dried horse mackerel at breakfast was outstanding. In any case, I’m adding this Accommodation to my top five places I want to stay again. Because it’s close to Zao, this was my first stay at this Accommodation. To put it mildly, it’s one of the best Accommodations I’ve ever stayed at. It’s fairly large, so the interiors and lobby are well appointed, but above all it’s quiet and comfortable. The large public bath with an open-air bath is excellent as well, and the teppanyaki cuisine was outstanding. There was nothing to complain about. The service struck just the right balance of attentiveness and distance, and everything was impeccably clean—I truly enjoyed my stay.

This was my long-admired Accommodation, and my first visit. I was truly able to relax in a space where all I could see from the Room was greenery, and all I could hear were the calls of cicadas. The two large public baths had slightly different temperatures between the indoor bath and the open-air bath, so even I, who am not fond of very hot water, could choose what suited me. The meals also featured seasonal ingredients beautifully and were absolutely delicious. I sincerely appreciate the staff’s thoughtful, unobtrusive hospitality. I would love to return in a different season.

I stayed here with my parents and cousin. It was my first time in Kurokawa Onsen, and it’s a truly wonderful place. Among the many Accommodations, “Yamamizuki” was a Ryokan that left us extremely satisfied. [Setting & Baths] The rain we had been worried about never came, so we were able to relax and take our time. Since it was the perfect season, we were moved to be able to watch fireflies from the bath. I also recommend visiting in June. [Meals] Both the portion size and taste were ideal. Rather than the over-the-top extravagance that can be common at a Ryokan, the dishes felt genuinely “just right,” with thoughtful attention throughout. [Hospitality & Service] There seemed to be many international staff members, but their sincerity really came through, and their service was pleasant. With a comfortable sense of distance—not too close, not too far—the hospitality was also exactly “just right.” My parents and cousin were delighted as well, which I think says it all. I would love to stay again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.

For dinner, we chose the luxurious full-course Maezawa beef option. Every dish was absolutely delicious, but the portions were honestly too large for us (next time, the standard Plan will be more than enough). The open-air bath in our Room and the open-air bath at the large public bath were both excellent. From check-in to departure, the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout—this is a wonderful Onsen Ryokan that makes you want to come back.

I stayed here for one night during a 3-night, 4-day trip. The buffet was tastier than at the other Accommodations I stayed at, and the portion size was just right. For guests arriving by motorcycle, posting on social media came with a complimentary drink service. The Facility feels a bit dated, but I recommend it for touring.

We truly enjoyed an elegant time as a couple while traveling with our pet. The Accommodation Fee was higher because we had a pet, but staying at the Hotel we had long dreamed of was wonderful, and we made the happiest memories. Our Room had an open-air bath and a bathing tub for dogs as well, and after filling it with five buckets of Onsen water, our pet looked warm and very comfortable. Before going to bed, we soaked once more in the Room’s open-air bath while watching a subtitled foreign film on the Room’s TV through the glass window, enjoying an extraordinary sense of luxury. We also loved the meals—Japanese cuisine is our favorite—and we were both very satisfied. I hope to visit again someday, and next time I would definitely like to stay in the main building where dogs are not allowed—those lingering feelings remain with me.
