A long-established Property located on the slopes of Mount Eboshi, one of the five peaks of Mount Aso, preserving the Jigoku Onsen which first opened in 1803. Stepping into the main building, which is over 100 years old and has been renovated after the Kumamoto Earthquake, feels like entering a different world, as if traveling back in time. The Onsen features three different sources, offering 11 baths across four locations, each with unique water qualities and atmospheres. Guests can enjoy the "Suzume no Yu," a "miraculous bath" rich in sulfur content with water bubbling up from the ground, as well as the highly acidic "Moto no Yu" and "Tamago no Yu," choosing baths based on their benefits and purposes. For dinner, a variety of courses are available, including seasonal hot pots, irori hearth dishes, and Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine. Local wild boar and venison, caught by local hunters, offer a rustic and unique taste of Aso. Experience the blessings of magnificent nature through the Onsen and cuisine.

A hidden wooden accommodation located deep in Yunishigawa Onsen offers natural flowing hot spring open-air baths and private open-air baths. The "Bokyotei," a relocated traditional house over 80 years old, is perfect for group stays and features its own private open-air bath. The third-generation owner of Arai Ryokan had close relationships with literary and artistic figures, leading to the creation of numerous works of Japanese painting and literature at Arai Ryokan. The artistic sensibilities are reflected in the architecture and gardens, making them a valuable cultural heritage.

Perched 60 meters above sea level on the heights of Hiraiso Cape, surrounded by Ishikari Bay, you can take in sweeping views of the endless blue sea and sky, with a full panorama of Otaru Bay and downtown Otaru spread out below. Ginrinso, a historic herring mansion and ryotei-style Accommodation with Onsen, is regarded as a representative example of fishery architecture. It was originally built as the residence of a major fishing magnate in Yoichi, once famed at the base of the Shakotan Peninsula as a prosperous herring fishing ground. Its grand yet elegant presence has only grown more dignified over more than 140 years since its founding, and it is now counted among “Hokkaido’s 100 Cultural Properties.” While preserving its traditional exterior and furnishings as faithfully as possible, we have enhanced our modern Facilities to pursue even greater comfort and functionality. In the rear garden overlooking the Sea of Japan, we have newly added an open-air rock bath rich in refined charm; reborn under the name “Hiraiso Onsen,” we begin anew as one of Otaru’s newest tourist attractions.

"Yamamoto-kan," a historic Ryokan established in the late Edo period, stands gracefully in front of Kusatsu Onsen's iconic Yubatake. This registered tangible cultural property retains the charm of traditional wooden architecture. Inside, you’ll feel the warmth and history, with a bathhouse offering soothing onsen water directly sourced from Kusatsu’s renowned Shirahata spring. The nine guest rooms are designed for tranquility, offering stunning views of Yubatake and allowing guests to fully enjoy the changing beauty of each season. After your bath, savor handmade kaiseki cuisine crafted with care by skilled chefs. The dining area overlooks Yubatake, where you can enjoy a special moment while admiring the steam and enchanting night illuminations. An Accommodation in Awazu Onsen, founded in Yoro 2 (718). Discovered by the monk Taicho Daishi, its sacred spring still flows today. A nationally registered commemorative garden passed down from Kobori Enshu to Sano Toemon. A group of nationally registered tangible cultural properties, masterfully assembled by temple carpenters without a single nail. Time carried on since the monk Garyo, and handed down through 47 generations as guardians of the waters. In the garden moss, in the temperature of the water, in the cypress beams—1,300 years of time quietly seep through. Spend a night within it, and the rhythms of everyday life gently begin to unwind.

In the first year of Ansei (1854), the founder of our Property, Iwakuniya Sobei, received permission from the magistrate's office to develop the area. He built a bridge over the Momiji River in front of the Property and established a teahouse by the stream as a resting place for travelers. This marked the beginning of "Miyajima no Yado Iwaso." Later, the bustling popularity continued, and the Property officially opened as a Ryokan in the early Meiji period. The main entrance building dates back to 1892 (Meiji 25), and the lobby was constructed during renovations in 1981 (Showa 56). Today, we draw natural Onsen, a rarity on the island, and offer accommodations in the main building, new building, and detached rooms. As a Ryokan nestled within a national park, we strive daily to ensure our guests can relax and enjoy their stay.

"Kinokawa Onsen Registered Tangible Cultural Property Inn Mikiyama" is a Japanese Ryokan with a 300-year history, located in the heart of the nostalgic Japanese Onsen town, Kinokawa Onsen. Renowned author Naoya Shiga made this Property his regular stay, where his famous short story "At Kinosaki" was born. The wooden architecture, built in 1927 and recognized as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, along with a 300-tsubo Japanese garden, retains its charm. In November 2013, the Property underwent a major renovation of its lobby, dining area, and large public bath, transforming into a modern Japanese Ryokan that blends history with contemporary design.From the Room's veranda, guests can enjoy the changing seasons in the garden, or lose themselves in a book in the library. After changing into a yukata, take a leisurely stroll to explore the local Onsen baths, and then savor the delights of the Sea of Japan paired with local sake in the modern dining area. Narai-juku, with a 400-year history on the Nakasendo, remains as Japan's longest post town, preserving much of its original charm. Located at the midpoint of the 69 stations of the Nakasendo, this post town flourished with many travelers and was affectionately known as "Narai Senken." As we inherit four historical buildings as the Property BYAKU Narai, we have chosen not to give each building a new name. Instead, we decided to return to the "yago" (traditional house names) passed down from the Edo period, such as calling the sake brewery "Suginomori Shuzo," established in 1793 and a symbol of the town, "Toshiyoshiya." The 16 Rooms are unique and diverse, utilizing the structures of the four historical buildings, each with different layouts and purposes. Immerse yourself in spaces that embrace the historical architecture, and experience the history and countless stories these buildings have witnessed over time. We offer a unique stay experience in these traditional houses, distinct from typical Hotel Rooms, where you can feel the essence of a place that has supported various lives and activities for generations.
