After watching a TV program featuring purple sea urchin, we visited looking forward to the dining experience. The cuisine, making the most of Amakusa’s abundant natural bounty, was far beyond our expectations—truly outstanding. We also appreciated the thoughtful explanations about the ingredients and stories about the producers, and enjoyed a wonderful time with the paired drinks. Dinner enjoyed while watching the beautiful sunset is a special memory we will never forget. A stylish and comfortable Room, an Onsen with ocean views, and breathtaking scenery right before our eyes—everything was exceptional and deeply relaxing. Most memorable of all was the warm hospitality of your staff, who clearly love Amakusa. Their desire to share Amakusa’s charm and ensure every guest truly enjoys their stay came through in every detail, and thanks to their attentive care we felt comfortable throughout. It became an unforgettable stay for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

This was my second stay. I stayed for one night with the goal of relaxing and unwinding away from everyday chores, work, and everything else. I really love the quiet, calming space—there’s everything you need and nothing unnecessary. The place is also very well cleaned, so I can stay comfortably without any stress. The meal (this time pork shabu-shabu) was very filling. This time I brought a little sashimi and some snacks, and had the somen noodles to finish the shabu-shabu as breakfast the next morning. The broth was incredibly delicious, and while both the meat and vegetables were great, the onions in particular were sweet and amazing. On the drive home, we ended up chatting excitedly about coming back again next autumn (laughs). In short, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to spend a “luxury” getaway doing nothing but relaxing at a slow pace.

The staff’s hospitality was outstanding. The Room was clean, and the bath was very relaxing. There were plenty of drinks and snacks provided, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was also delicious, especially the rice-based dishes.

This was my second stay. I visited with my parents, the three of us. The bath is on the small side, but the Onsen water quality is excellent—personally, I think it’s far better than most Onsen. Meals were the highlight for me, and the cuisine here is outstanding, on par with kaiseki in Tokyo. With plenty of seasonal ingredients, everything tastes wonderful and you can truly enjoy each dish. It was a very relaxing one-night, two-day stay.

In the wonderful space created by the owners, we were able to spend a truly relaxing and restorative time. Enjoying their thoughtfully prepared dishes—down to the seasonings—paired with local sake and served in locally made tableware was a real luxury... The journey there, transferring between local trains and buses, also became a memorable part of our trip. We would love to visit again someday in a different season. This Room is highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy a trip with a sense of history and charm. The entire Room was exceptionally clean—so much so that it made me wish I could live in a home like this. It was also a real highlight to see how everyone who assisted us carefully and lovingly conveyed the concept of this Accommodation. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared, with dishes that reflected local and traditional flavors, leaving both my stomach and heart happy from the morning. Not only is the Accommodation itself wonderful, but I also hope you’ll take in the atmosphere around it as well. Every shop and street has its own charm, and you can truly feel the kindness of the people and the pleasant air. It became a place I genuinely want to visit again. Thank you for such a wonderful trip where we could stay at a great Accommodation and meet such lovely people. I won’t forget this connection.

On my first trip to Kusatsu Onsen, I stayed for two nights in the private open-air bath guest room “TAKASAGO.” Guest Room (TAKASAGO) The layout is wonderfully spacious, with the bedroom and tatami-style living area separated, creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Personally, I felt the room was a little dim due to limited natural light depending on its orientation, and I would have loved a larger sofa where you can really sink in rather than a low table—but overall it was an expansive, truly luxurious space. The tatami room with the low table faces a private garden and had a lovely sense of traditional charm. The maisonette-type rooms looked brighter and seemed to have more comfortable sofas as well, so I’d like to try one next time. Onsen Two different hot spring sources—Jizo Gensen and Bandai Kosen Gensen—are supplied here, making for an indulgent bathing experience. In addition to enjoying high-quality spring water anytime in the in-room open-air bath, the three private reservable baths each had their own distinct character and conveyed refined Japanese aesthetics. I thoroughly enjoyed soaking in Onsen throughout my stay. In particular, I loved “AWASE,” where three tubs are lined up from low to high temperature so you can experience a traditional bathing method—I went back again and again. Breakfast As dinner service was suspended during my stay, breakfast was the only meal offered—but its quality was outstanding, easily on par with dinner. I often stay at cuisine-focused Ryokan, and this was among the best I’ve experienced: creative composition of dishes, cooking that brought out the best of each ingredient, and thoughtful selection of tableware that elevated every course. Hospitality & Service The staff’s attentiveness and perfectly balanced approach—present when needed but never intrusive—left a strong impression and made my stay very comfortable. While there are a couple of minor preferences regarding the guest room setup, overall I was extremely satisfied with every aspect: Onsen, food quality (breakfast), and hospitality. I would absolutely love to return when visiting Kusatsu again.

This was our second stay. We had such a wonderful time last time that I came again with my mother, who loves art. She was delighted by the tower’s distinctive steel framework running through the Room and the many artworks throughout the Hotel. Thank you to all the staff for kindly explaining everything as she asked questions. At night, Accommodation guests only can take an elevator through a hidden door up to the observation deck. The special touch made our hearts race. Spending time looking out over the quiet city at night felt truly luxurious, and I was able to give my mother a moment that only a Hotel stay can offer. Breakfast featured a wide variety of dishes made with local ingredients, and both my mother and I were very satisfied. Afterward, we were even served special petit fours, and we fully enjoyed tea time as well. This time, my mother and I took a relaxing stroll around Sakae on this one-night, two-day mini trip with staying at this Hotel as our main purpose. Thank you for such a comfortable stay. We are grateful for everyone’s thoughtful hospitality. We’ll be back again.

We arrived in Hikone before check-in time, but we were happy that you came to pick us up at Hikone Station. In front of the large public bath, you had placed nicely chilled tea, which was a great help since I was traveling with my grandchild who drinks tea often. This is a calm, comfortable Accommodation where you can feel the spirit of hospitality everywhere. You prepared private dining rooms for both dinner and breakfast, so we could relax and enjoy the delicious meals with peace of mind even with our preschool-aged grandchild. When my grandchild became sleepy during our stay, you even carried the futon for us—thank you very much for your kindness. As this is a cuisine-focused Ryokan, it met our expectations perfectly, and we were truly impressed by the head chef’s wonderful dishes. Thank you very much.

Because my husband is from Nagaoka, we come from Tokyo to Niigata every year during the Obon season. Our usual routine is to go swimming at Kakudahama Beach first, then stay at Hotel Asuka. The made-to-order dinner buffet is delicious, and the food comes out quickly. The dishes you can pick up anytime are also great, so I always end up eating too much. Both the long-time staff and the newer team members are truly pleasant and welcoming—it makes me feel at home. This is my favorite hotel that I look forward to visiting every year. We’ll be back again next year, so thank you in advance.

This is a perfect Accommodation no matter when you visit. It was Kyoto in extreme heat, but thanks to your thoughtful care in many ways, we had a wonderful time. The pike conger is a must in this season; it is an additional-order dish, but highly recommended. We are planning to visit again in autumn.

Everything was always clean, and I had a very comfortable stay! All of the staff provided wonderful hospitality. This time, I chose the “Tajima Beef Colorful Kaiseki” course! They carefully explained each dish, which made it even more enjoyable. I was able to fully enjoy Kinosaki at night.

We were satisfied with everything—the guest room, the private open-air bath, and the restaurant. The retro furnishings in the room were truly comforting, and we were impressed by the thoughtful care in the meals. We enjoyed a level of luxury that exceeded the price. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again. The Hotel staff were also wonderful. As I get older, I find peace in an Accommodation like this. I hadn’t had many chances to visit Chichibu before, but this was an excellent Hotel as a base for visiting Mitsumine Shrine, Chichibu Shrine, and Hodosan Shrine (the Chichibu Three Shrines pilgrimage), as well as sightseeing in Nagatoro. First of all, the dining was outstanding. We tried the French, teppanyaki, and sushi restaurants, and everything was perfect. If these were in a city, each would be a hugely popular spot. All the staff were kind, and you can really feel their dedication to welcoming guests. The Room had a large glass wall facing the ocean, and we had an amazing time on the balcony—enjoying coffee while looking out at the sea and having breakfast there as well. The pool is generously sized, so you can swim properly. We enjoyed going back and forth between the pool and the jacuzzi in the bath area all day long. It truly felt like paradise at this Hotel. We plan to return many times.

I was completely satisfied with this Accommodation! This was my first stay here. After reading Reviews in advance, I saw comments saying it was like a “stink bug Accommodation,” so I braced myself. But it wasn’t like that at all—there were a few stink bugs, but for an Accommodation surrounded by nature, having some insects is only to be expected, and it didn’t bother me. I almost felt sorry that the staff kept apologizing for the stink bugs. The food was absolutely delicious, and I’m very grateful that they sincerely accommodated an unexpected situation where I had to step away in the middle of the meal. The Room had a calm atmosphere with plenty of traditional Uchiko washi paper used throughout, and I was able to relax deeply. Breakfast also had a fun concept where you can compare three different types of eggs—I loved it! This is an Accommodation I’d gladly go out of my way to stay at again!

The three of us—my spouse, my sister, and I—had a relaxing stay. The Room was clean, and the Onsen was at a comfortable temperature, so we enjoyed soaking many times while looking out at the sea. The meals were all delicious, and even the grilled fish at breakfast was prepared in an easy-to-eat way. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and all three of us finished everything. Our adults-only family stay was wonderful. With spacious beds, a Room featuring an open-air Onsen bath, and a location overlooking Matsuyama Castle, we ended up spending a lot of time relaxing in the Room. The amenities were excellent, including the in-room hair dryer (it was a ReFa), and every detail was thoughtfully arranged to eliminate the little stresses that can come with traveling. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and generously portioned, and we truly felt the warm hospitality throughout our stay. As a souvenir, we bought the diffuser that scented the property; its fresh citrus fragrance still brings back memories of our lovely time here even after returning home. Thank you very much. This is an Accommodation I would highly recommend to anyone planning to visit Dogo Onsen.

We chose this Hotel because it could accommodate our family of five. There were three double beds and a double-size sofa bed, plus a hammock in the Room. The bathtub on the terrace was amazing—bathing while looking out at the ocean was the best. The private bath within the Facility was also a comfortable size. The food was delicious, and the staff’s hospitality felt warm and genuine. With a typhoon approaching, they even helped secure an extended stay in case our flight was canceled. In the end it wasn’t canceled and we were able to go home, but it gave us great peace of mind during our stay. Being close to the airport was also convenient, as it let us relax until the very last minute before leaving.
