Our story began when an Onsen sprang forth after we dug at a place seen in a dream. We named it “Yume no Yu” and started with a single small inn—this is the origin of our Accommodation (Oda Onsen). Also enshrined here to this day is the “Ryujin Tree” (dragon-shaped tree roots), which was also seen in that same dream. A small rural farming village has since become a mountain Onsen retreat. Shunkouen is a Ryokan and restaurant located on the site of the former samurai residence of the Inagawa family, retainers of the Inaba clan, who were lords of Usuki during the Edo period.
