Noto Hyakurakusou invites you to unwind in its “five private baths,” featuring a hand-dug “cave bath” 30 meters underground, an “observation bath” overlooking the ever-changing scenery of Kujuku Bay, and a 100㎡ reservable bath complete with a 120 cm-deep standing bath and sauna. Enjoy the soothing benefits of Noto deep-sea water for deep relaxation of both body and mind. All guest rooms offer breathtaking views of Kujuku Bay, with luxurious accommodations including nine suites. Guests can also enjoy the “Game Lounge” with darts, billiards, and table tennis, as well as an exclusive lounge for suite guests. Skilled in traditional ink-line marking, Heikichi was known locally as “Sumiya no Hei-san” (“Hei from the ink shop”). From this nickname came the house name Tanpei, later renamed “Tanpei,” and it has since been operated as the oldest Accommodation in Tango Town to this day. The spirit of hospitality of “Sumiya no Hei-san” has been passed down through six generations and continues today.

In 2023, we opened new detached special suites featuring a private sauna and an open-air bath. In summer 2025, our main-building Japanese-Western rooms will also be renovated. Facing the Sea of Japan, Tango–Kumihama is a scenic area where many beautiful landscapes remain. A legend has been passed down here. In the Kamakura period, the monk Ippen traveled across The whole country to save people, distributing nembutsu talismans and performing dancing nembutsu. After finishing his preaching in Kyoto and heading toward San’in, he was chanting the nembutsu in Kumihama when clouds suddenly gathered and a blue dragon appeared over the sea. Dragon worship has long been practiced in this region, and it is said that the blue dragon revealed itself before Ippen to form a bond with the nembutsu. Even today, the Sea of Japan as seen from Kumihama retains an air of mystery. Like Ippen once did, you can be embraced by this scenery and find rest here.
