There’s no phone signal, no TV, and no Wi-Fi. It’s located at the end of a steep hill, and nights are pitch dark. However, we take pride in our baths. Indoors, you’ll find a bath meticulously crafted by skilled artisans through repeated effort and polishing to perfection. Outdoors, we offer another option—a cypress open-air bath for your enjoyment. Close your eyes, listen to the sound of waves or birdsong as you immerse yourself in water. At night, under a sky full of stars, let yourself be enveloped by the soothing scent of cypress wood.And then there’s the sea stretching out before you. The tranquil evening glow paints an emotional scene at sunset; at night, moonlight reflects on the water creating a path of light across its surface. A new villa, "Awaji Hamarikyu Besso Takumi," stands on the north side of the classic Japanese resort Awaji Hamarikyu, offering a new charm. While maintaining the beautiful sunset and scenic Keino Matsubara, this property offers an upgraded stay experience. Although there are only 17 rooms in total, each room is equipped with an open-air bath filled with Uzushio Onsen Ten no Yu. Facing the Sea of Japan, Tango–Kumihama is a scenic area where many beautiful landscapes remain. A legend has been passed down here. In the Kamakura period, the monk Ippen traveled across The whole country to save people, distributing nembutsu talismans and performing dancing nembutsu. After finishing his preaching in Kyoto and heading toward San’in, he was chanting the nembutsu in Kumihama when clouds suddenly gathered and a blue dragon appeared over the sea. Dragon worship has long been practiced in this region, and it is said that the blue dragon revealed itself before Ippen to form a bond with the nembutsu. Even today, the Sea of Japan as seen from Kumihama retains an air of mystery. Like Ippen once did, you can be embraced by this scenery and find rest here.
