This was a Hotel I definitely want to stay at again! Not only were the amenities and play area great, but the private family bath was surprisingly easy to use when we wanted, and we were able to relax and enjoy a bath together as a family. Free laundry and drying were also available, which was a huge help—especially with our 2-year-old, when we ran out of spare clothes and started to panic. Meals were buffet-style, so we ended up eating quite a lot and couldn’t make it for late-night snacks, which was a shame—but next time I’ll plan better (haha). Just one thing: the kids’ meals didn’t change much between breakfast and dinner, so our child got a bit bored. It would have been nice to have a little more variety.

This was my first stay in Yufuin Onsen. We stayed in a two-bedroom Room with an open-air bath. Each Room was separate, so it was very quiet and relaxing. The Onsen water left my skin feeling smooth, so I thought it might be alkaline. You can adjust the temperature of the open-air bath to your liking, which is perfect for anyone who prefers lukewarm baths! The Room felt a bit old, but it was spacious and easy to use. What I liked most was the firmness of the bed. I believe it was a Simmons mattress—just right. My wife loved it too. I didn’t have high expectations for the meals given the price, but we enjoyed them, including wagyu sukiyaki. The bottled beer we ordered with dinner was 650 yen, which felt inexpensive for Hotel pricing. Overall, I recommend this Hotel for those who want to relax and enjoy the hot water and nature without leaving their Room. Since it’s far from town, I recommend shopping in advance.

If you’re craving delicious fish, this is highly recommended! You can enjoy truly tasty fish until you’re completely satisfied. Of course, the Room is also comfortable, and it’s a nice bonus to have a view of Mt. Fuji! The horse mackerel at breakfast was so good that I bought some to take home on the way back. A wonderful Accommodation.

We were satisfied with everything—the guest room, the private open-air bath, and the restaurant. The retro furnishings in the room were truly comforting, and we were impressed by the thoughtful care in the meals. We enjoyed a level of luxury that exceeded the price. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again. The Hotel staff were also wonderful. As I get older, I find peace in an Accommodation like this. I hadn’t had many chances to visit Chichibu before, but this was an excellent Hotel as a base for visiting Mitsumine Shrine, Chichibu Shrine, and Hodosan Shrine (the Chichibu Three Shrines pilgrimage), as well as sightseeing in Nagatoro. The relaxing Facility, the charming Room, the wonderful cuisine, and the silky Onsen I could stay in forever—everything was exceptional. The staff’s warm smiles and attentive hospitality made it even better. This is the first Accommodation where I truly didn’t want to leave because it felt so comfortable. I would love to visit again. With a free-flowing natural hot spring bath in the Room, in-room dining, and a massage chair, everything can be enjoyed without leaving your Room. This is the best place for a stay-in retreat! We chose the Gourmet Light Meal Plan, and it was just the right amount for us in our 60s. A highly recommended Accommodation.

We stayed in the Kozu Room. The Room was spacious and comfortable. Although the facilities are mostly shared with Kowakien, they are clearly separated in various ways, which was great. The meals were delicious and more than we could finish. All the staff were courteous, and we had a wonderful time. This is an Accommodation I can recommend.

The open-air bath surrounded by the beech forest was exceptional. The view was so beautiful that I wanted to stay there forever. This time it was a one-night stay, but next time I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay and visit other Nyuto Onsen baths.

This was about my fourth visit, and it had been a while since the last time, but once again I had a thoroughly satisfying stay in every respect. As it was just the beginning of September, we were served dobin-mushi and matsutake mushroom rice, allowing us to enjoy the flavors of autumn a little early. Everything was delicious. The Room was spotless, and the entire property felt clean and well maintained. Above all, every staff member was polite and composed; meals were served at just the right time, and they always seemed to be attentively looking out for guests in a natural way. It made for a truly comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

We stayed again this year for my husband’s birthday. We were able to relax in the wonderful lounge and enjoy a luxurious time while taking in the beautiful view of the Imperial Palace Outer Gardens. Even though we hadn’t mentioned it this time, they celebrated his birthday, which made us very happy. This is a favorite Hotel we want to visit again and again, thanks to their thoughtful attention to detail.

We stayed here for our silver wedding anniversary trip. Every meal was delicious!! The in-room open-air bath was wonderful, and we were able to relax in the Japanese-Western style Room, which we were very satisfied with! They even prepared a celebratory plate during dinner—it truly made for a happy one-night stay! Thank you very much. We were also happy that the drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary! We would love to stay here again when we visit Hakone!

Due to a change of plans, I made a Reservation the day before. It was a rainy day and I arrived early, but I was able to choose a book from the many available and enjoy reading at a relaxed pace with a cup of coffee in hand. The spacious bath, especially the bubble bath, was very soothing. The meals were so plentiful that I couldn’t finish everything. The sunrise the next morning was beautiful. There were also goats and rabbits, and if it were closer, it’s a place where I’d love to bring my dog for a Multiple Night Stay.

From the warm welcome to the heartfelt send-off, we were truly satisfied with the hospitality. With the carefully designed interior and a beautiful garden view, we could freely enjoy a variety of delicious Ureshino cold teas, which helped us forget the heat. Dinner was delicately prepared with deep flavors and was beautiful to look at; even my mother, who has visited Onsen all over The whole country, was deeply moved. The bath in our Room was also a continuously flowing Onsen, and it felt wonderful. All of the staff were genuinely kind, and their smiles were soothing as well.

We stayed here during the Obon holiday. Check-in was from 15:00, but we arrived around 13:00. When we asked to check in early, they kindly agreed without hesitation. After checking in, we told the Ryokan staff that we were heading out to sightsee around Yumoto Station, and they offered to take us from the Ryokan to Yumoto Station with a free Shuttle Service—much appreciated! The Room size, Facility features, and amenities were all excellent. We used the bath in our Room twice (morning and night), and also enjoyed both the large public bath and a private bath—four baths in total. The meals were outstanding in both quantity and quality. From the front desk staff to everyone we passed in the hallways, their warm smiles made our stay truly comfortable. A calm, adults-only atmosphere—classic Ryokan style with a luxurious touch. We will definitely stay again when we visit Hakone.

We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The Facilities, the staff’s atmosphere, and the meals were all excellent. It was clear that each staff member truly loves dogs. We would definitely like to stay again.

Thank you very much for allowing us to spend such a relaxing time the other day. We traveled to Hokkaido to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and stayed here for our third night. Thanks to your many thoughtful gestures and warm hospitality, we had an absolutely wonderful time. We were truly surprised and delighted by the gift: you took photos of us and presented them with a message on a shikishi board. We have it displayed at home now. We also appreciated the complimentary champagne toast at dinner from the head chef, and the celebratory glutinous rice dish at breakfast. Everything was delicious—the kaiseki cuisine as well as the additional orders: crab, whelk, sweet shrimp, and uni sushi. It was a feast of wonderful flavors. The Onsen water had a silky texture, and I went to soak several times a day. Unfortunately it was cloudy when viewing from the open-air bath, but listening to the sound of the waves while soaking in water that left my skin so smooth was incredibly soothing. There were also four kinds of beer available after bathing, along with so many other complimentary services that I can’t list them all. Time flew by during our stay, and as we headed on to Hakodate next, we kept thinking that one night wasn’t enough. The tarako we had at breakfast was so delicious that we bought some to take home. It will be arriving soon by courier service, and I’m looking forward to enjoying it. Thank you very much.

Thank you again for your gracious hospitality. We also truly appreciate the gift of rhinoceros beetles and stag beetles for our grandchild. We were able to relax at leisure in the natural hot spring waters of Harazuru Onsen, and the meals—especially breakfast—were excellent. If the rate were a little more affordable, this is an Accommodation we would love to visit more often. Thank you very much for taking care of us during our stay.

I stayed for one night and two days. Rooms & Amenities → The in-room open-air bath was clean and very relaxing. Hospitality & Service → I was warmly welcomed from check-in, and the staff responded pleasantly whenever I needed anything, which made me very happy. Onsen Baths → The large public bath was spacious, and the outdoor open-air bath area was also clean. I also appreciated the service of having drinks and towels available in front of the sauna room. Dining → I only had breakfast, but it was delicious.

We visited this Accommodation for the first time in March after it received the strongest “Absolutely!” recommendation among several options, and it was the first time in a while that we felt completely satisfied in every respect. From the courteous and accurate communication during the Reservation process, to the atmosphere, use of space, staff professionalism, and cuisine—everything met our expectations. With an Accommodation of this caliber, I wasn’t particularly worried about the food, and I had already seen photos of the interior on the website so I assumed there would be no surprises. In the end, however, what matters most is “people.” With group stays, requests often cause inconvenience and there are usually one or two small oversights on the day—but here everything was perfect. This time we came as individuals. We returned both to confirm our impressions and to be moved all over again. The entrance—still fresh in my memory as a favorite—is spacious and quiet. It harmoniously blends cutting-edge design with traditional charm despite being complete opposites. Personally, it may be my favorite part. Our Room this time was more compact than last time but more than sufficient for one night. The open-air bath is also spacious and easy to use even though it has privacy screening. The private dining room felt almost too large for just two people. The timing of each course and the staff’s warm smiles made for a truly comfortable—and delicious—meal. Overall, what stayed with me is how rare this Facility is: an excellent balance of new and old, genuine warmth from people, and employees who approach their work with sincerity—all coming together in perfect harmony. Newer Accommodations with a full resort feel are wonderful in their own way as well; however, as an Onsen Accommodation, this is a place I can confidently recommend as a distinctly Japanese stay where timeless tradition is beautifully integrated. I visited during the rainy season, a time I don’t usually choose. Both dinner and breakfast featured exquisite dishes that felt refreshingly cool to the eye and captured the early-summer atmosphere, lifting the gloom of the rainy skies. What makes this Accommodation truly exceptional is being able to enjoy outstanding cuisine at any time, thoughtfully crafted to reflect the season through sight, aroma, and taste. I also deeply appreciate the warm, friendly hospitality shown by all of the staff.
