This was our fifth or sixth stay, and once again we had a very comfortable time. What made us especially happy was that the staff member in charge of our Room from our previous visit remembered us. They even remembered that we stayed with my mother-in-law last time, and we were truly touched by their thoughtfulness. As always, the meals were delicious, with seasonal dishes as well—everything met our expectations once again. The premium lounge was also excellent. We used it after the Onsen, and there was a wide variety of soft drinks, so even someone like me who doesn’t drink much alcohol could fully enjoy it. This is a wonderful Ryokan where you can feel warm hospitality no matter how many times you visit. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

From the attentive staff and beautifully prepared, delicious cuisine to the spotless Room and two different baths that were both wonderfully relaxing, our stay was satisfying from start to finish. The Japanese sweets provided in the Room were especially delicious—I almost wanted to buy some to take home (they may even be handmade). If I had one small wish, it would be that the lounge drinks included alcohol, which I personally think would have made it even better. The staff’s warm smiles were the best hospitality of all.

As our Room was in a separate building, we were able to relax in a quiet space. The open-air bath was also wonderful—I enjoyed it so much that I went in several times. The meals were delicious, and we especially appreciated the spacious dining area where we could take our time without worrying about others. We also received a gift for our wedding anniversary, and the thoughtful hospitality truly warmed our hearts.

Thank you for taking care of us for three days. As a returning guest, I was once again able to relax thanks to the warm hospitality of the proprietress, the young proprietress, and all the staff. The open-air bath in the guest room was truly soothing. Thank you very much. Once things settle down, I would love to visit again.

I visited again for the first time in about four years. Every area was thoroughly cleaned, and the Room was exceptionally spotless. For example, even the glass on the glass-fronted dish cabinet in the Room was shining—of course, so were the glasses. The mirrors, glass doors, and even the stainless-steel toilet paper holder in the restroom were gleaming, without a single fingerprint. Every large public bath was immaculate as well. All of the food was made with incredibly fresh ingredients—I’m amazed at how they managed to source everything. The staff were modest yet wonderfully pleasant; just being here makes me happy. Katsuragi Kitano-maru is a space that goes beyond “the best.”

The welcome drink service included options such as sake and plum juice, and the Room’s beautiful interior created a special, out-of-the-ordinary atmosphere. In particular, the breakfast was of exceptionally high quality, with some menu items that were on par with a main dish at dinner.

We stayed in a Superior Twin Room with a loft and a lake-side living area. The Room was spacious, and having a separate living area felt refreshing. The bed was very comfortable, and it was great that we could watch another TV from the bed. The meals were delicious and very generous in portion size. The grilled shabu-shabu with Japanese Black Wagyu beef and the salt-grilled nodoguro were especially tasty. The Onsen was also very relaxing. It would have been even better if there had been a sauna.

We were very satisfied with the meals. Everything we had for dinner was delicious. For breakfast, you can grill freshly dried horse mackerel at your table on a tabletop stove. The eggs were cooked on a ceramic hot plate, and we could choose between fried eggs or scrambled eggs to suit our preference. You can also have refills of rice. It was very windy so we only spent about two hours at the beach, but since the large public bath is available even after check-out, you can freshen up before heading home. The facilities were also kept clean and well maintained. For those who smoke, there is a smoking room in the building. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

The views from the window—an unmanned station and the sea—were beautiful, and we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. Every dish was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the crab and shrimp. The Accommodation was quiet throughout, with a soothing atmosphere that made time feel as if it were gently passing by, allowing us to forget everyday life and truly unwind. It’s an Accommodation I’d love to visit again in a different season.

Searched for Accommodation with an open-air bath in the Room The Room was exactly what we wanted, and we had a wonderful holiday—no need to carry bath items or a change of clothes to the large public bath, and we could enjoy the Onsen whenever we liked. We chose a Plan with breakfast only. The dried horse mackerel was very delicious. For us, who can’t eat that much, it was just the right amount. Enjoying coffee in the lounge while taking in the lovely view overlooking the harbor was also wonderful. Although it felt like being nestled in the woods, we didn’t see any insects. It was a lovely Accommodation that we would like to use again.

I found this Facility on IKYU and liked it so much that I made a Reservation. Just as expected, I thoroughly enjoyed the Facility, the meals, and the Onsen (ceramic bath). During a conversation with the staff at dinner, we talked about Hachimantai’s Dragon Eye. They told me they had gone there after borrowing rental boots and that it was wonderful. So I went the next day right away. Like Zao Okama last year, I was moved by the breathtaking scenery. It was a truly great stay—enjoying both the magnificent nature and the delicious meals at the Facility. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

I chose this Accommodation because I was looking for an Onsen nearby that isn’t in a major tourist area. Since I made the Reservation at the last minute, I couldn’t choose a Room, but it was spacious enough and very well cleaned. There were plenty of staff, and everyone was kind, giving the place a warm, homey feel. The meals offered a wide variety and generous portions, and everything tasted great. The Tajima beef was delicious, but the seasonal Silk Corn potage in particular was sweet and excellent. The Onsen water was a little on the lukewarm side, but it left my skin smooth and felt wonderful. Because it’s close by, I’d like to come again even just for a day trip.

The welcome service offered plum wine, black vinegar, juice, sweets, and ice cream. We arrived early and were able to relax until dinner even after taking a bath. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and with free-flowing natural hot spring water, we could enjoy the Onsen anytime. The Room was excellent. The food was buffet-style, featuring local vegetables and specialties, along with many delicious dishes made with health in mind. I don’t often get the chance to visit Akita, but this is an Accommodation I would definitely like to return to. Thank you very much.

I keep coming back again and again because I look forward to the meals. Every dish reflects the chef’s dedication—beautiful to look at, delicious to eat, truly outstanding. Both breakfast and dinner offer a wide variety of handmade dishes, all of them excellent. As there are stairs throughout the property, it may be difficult for elderly guests or anyone with mobility concerns.

We stayed for one night in Yayoi in July with our dog as a couple. We’ve stayed at many dog-friendly Accommodations, and this is the best one for us. I especially love sulfur Onsen, and while other dog-friendly Accommodations we’ve stayed at had Onsen, none had sulfur springs. Here, there is also a free-flowing natural hot spring bath in the Room, so we didn’t have to leave our dog waiting to go to a public bath. Even though many places don’t allow dogs in the bathroom area, this Accommodation provided a dog bathtub, shampoo, and towels—I've never stayed anywhere so thoughtful. Our senior large dog kept coming to watch us enjoy the Onsen with curiosity. Just walking through the spilled water from the free-flowing sulfur spring at the washing area turned his rough, cracked paw pads into smooth ones—just like the Reviews said. It’s truly an amazing Onsen. The Imabari bath towel after bathing was fluffy and very comfortable. Since it was a No Meals Included stay, we mainly brought takeout from Nasu restaurants. We also bought Nasu cheese and sausages along with drinks and snacks, and picked up bread and yogurt for breakfast at a nearby shop before heading to the Accommodation. With the best sulfur Onsen, delicious food and drinks from Nasu, a quiet setting, we were able to relax completely. Our dog also seemed very satisfied with the cool highland climate, peaceful greenery-filled surroundings, and private feel without running into other dogs—he looked truly relaxed. All of us were soothed by both nature and the Onsen and went home extremely happy. My husband said he wants to come again in winter too—so we’ll be making another Reservation. Not only the building itself, but also the hanging scrolls and other details in the Room were wonderful, allowing us to spend a relaxing time while appreciating art and culture. As we stayed on a weekday, I mentioned at check-in that I was interested in the building, and the Accommodation staff kindly showed us several of Meijikan’s highlight Rooms. My parents and I were very satisfied. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality. The in-room dining was also excellent, including freshly cooked white rice prepared right in front of us and abalone with a tender bite. We will visit again.

The free-flowing natural Onsen was amazing. In particular, the “Isaribi” Room with a scenic open-air bath was exceptional—soaking while gazing out at the ocean was truly special. I was also impressed to be served a whole grilled splendid alfonsino. The Room was very clean and comfortable, and my one-night, two-day stay left me feeling refreshed in both body and mind. A wonderful Accommodation I’d love to visit again.

It was my first time in a while soaking in a bath with a strong sulfur scent, and it truly felt like, “I’m at an Onsen!!!” I was very satisfied. The front desk staff and the dinner service staff were also young, efficient, and excellent.

We stayed in a Room with a private Onsen. We also used the large public bath, and since there are only a few Rooms, we were able to enjoy it privately. I couldn’t tell the difference between the two hot spring sources, but the water was soft and the temperature was just right. In any case, the garden is wonderful. Although Tendo Onsen is located in town, it’s in a calm setting where you can hear cicadas. And the food is outstanding—no typical “just to increase the number of dishes” meals; instead, you can enjoy local and seasonal ingredients prepared with care and served with refined flavors. They also have an excellent selection of Dewazakura sake. I stay at various Accommodations for work, and among those that fit our budget and lifestyle, this is one of the very best. We’d love to stay again.

The atmosphere was homey and very clean, and all the staff were extremely kind. It was late July, but the temperature wasn’t too high and the humidity was low, so it was very comfortable—Karuizawa really is wonderful. We stayed for two nights, but on the second night my son became unwell, and I’m very sorry for the trouble we caused. Even though it was sudden, a staff member said, “Please let us know if there’s anything we can do,” and they also helped us check out quickly that same day—thank you so much. By the next day my son was feeling better and said, “Karuizawa was fun—I want to stay at that Hotel again.” I’m also sorry this Review is so late. I will contact you again separately. There was an unexpected issue and I panicked a bit, but I made another special memory in Karuizawa after a long time. Thank you very much.
