Skilled in traditional ink-line marking, Heikichi was known locally as “Sumiya no Hei-san” (“Hei from the ink shop”). From this nickname came the house name Tanpei, later renamed “Tanpei,” and it has since been operated as the oldest Accommodation in Tango Town to this day. The spirit of hospitality of “Sumiya no Hei-san” has been passed down through six generations and continues today.

"Keikoku no Kakure Yado Iya Bijin" is a Property with an Onsen and a soba restaurant, located right in front of this lush green valley and clear stream. Originally opened in 1975 as a handmade soba restaurant using local buckwheat and spring water, the Property later added 8 Rooms and a detached accommodation to provide visitors to Iya with a more relaxing and leisurely stay. All Rooms are equipped with open-air baths, allowing guests to fully enjoy the Onsen while admiring the stunning views.
