At "Otogi no Oka," overlooking tranquil rural landscapes and satoyama, there are 11 uniquely designed rooms, including 3 newly renovated rooms opening in June 2024, as well as six private suite rooms called "Hanare 88," which were renovated in November 2021. The Natural Countryside Onsen Fukahori-tei is located in the heart of the Chikugo Plain, within a granary area. Upon stepping through the gate, you are greeted by seasonal trees and fruit trees on a 4,000-tsubo estate, leading you to a scenery that makes you forget daily life. The main building, renovated from an old house passed down for 180 years, is a space harmonizing historical beams with modern design furniture. Time flows peacefully and leisurely, evoking a nostalgic feeling as if returning to one's hometown.

Since ancient times, the tranquil village of Sonohara has warmly welcomed travelers. The Amikake Mountain behind it reflects the elegance and poetic beauty of the four seasons like a natural painting. Passing through the main gate, Ibishamon, along the clear stream, a garden rich in emotion with Sukiya-style architecture and colors that change beautifully with the seasons unfolds. The cuisine is flavorful kaiseki dishes. The onsen is a natural hot spring known for its skin-beautifying properties.

Inspired by the appreciation for the serene and tasteful beauty of all things, we named our property "侘桜". A 200-year-old thatched-roof house has been relocated to a tranquil mountainous area near the small Kyoto of Kakunodate. We hope you can relax and enjoy your time here.

We use our own natural hot spring source that gushes forth from within the premises, known as "Bijin no Yu" (Beautiful Skin Water) for its excellent quality. Enjoy the blessings of the Onsen with the "Yakuseki-yoku Arashi no Yu," opened in 2020, and the spacious private baths "Oku no Yu" and "Manyo no Yu." Carrying on traditions since the Meiji era, we offer creative kaiseki cuisine that delights both the palate and the eyes, using seasonal ingredients.
