I chose it because it was close to the destination. From the lobby to the Room, it was neat and tidy without any extra items, which was nice. The bath was spacious and nice. I don't think the morning bread was handmade by a bakery(?), but there were croissants, pancakes, salad, and soup, which were quite filling. If I have the chance, I would like to stay here again next time.

The room was clean, and it was nice that the toilet and bath were separated. The amenities covered the basics, though I would personally have appreciated items like makeup remover as well. The staff were kind and helpful, which made me feel at ease and willing to stay again.

The view from the window, though across the road, was very beautiful, and the sunrise was stunning. The staff responded kindly to various requests, and during our Multiple Night Stay, it was very comfortable. We also enjoyed a BBQ with ingredients we bought ourselves. I would love to stay here again! As a side note, if you stay here, I highly recommend trying the bread from Bakery Misaki at the nearby Calico Resort for breakfast!

Stayed here for the second night after spending the first night at a pension in Kurumayama. The lakeside Japanese-style room was clean and had everything we needed. The Onsen bath was truly amazing. Due to lack of prior checking, we found out that the attached restaurant was closed for dinner that evening. In the morning, we enjoyed a bakery breakfast box at a lakeside table. The bread and scones were delicious, and the honey was exceptional!

The machiya-style Accommodation was wonderful. The bathroom was clean and easy to use, and the bed was fluffy, so I slept very well. The sea is nearby, and the quiet, charming streetscape made it a relaxing place to stay. The stairs were steep and a little scary, but it also added to the machiya atmosphere, which I appreciated.

This place is located a bit away from the bustling areas, which made it even better! The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and cooking utensils. We stocked up on deli food and enjoyed a quiet, relaxing stay without worrying about the surroundings. The bathroom and toilet were clean. Having laundry facilities was very convenient. It was an amazing trip, especially since dogs are welcome here!

I probably stay here almost every year. This year it felt like many of the front desk staff had changed, but as always, the service was attentive without being intrusive—just the right balance. What makes this Hotel especially appealing is its location. When I’m in Kyoto for a short stay and need to get various errands done, this area is the most convenient, so I’ve been returning for several years. This time I came from Osaka, and by taking the Keihan Line from Yodoyabashi to Keihan Sanjo, I didn’t need to use Kyoto Station or the subway at all, which made everything stress-free. The Room is always kept clean and well prepared, and it’s also nice to be able to sit down in a shared space and enjoy a cup of tea—something I really appreciate when I’m tired. There’s also a lovely cafe on the first floor where you can have great coffee and breakfast, but since there are several long-established Kyoto coffee shops just a few minutes’ walk away, I didn’t eat at the Hotel this time. I’m sure I’ll be back again next year. Thank you in advance when that time comes.

We wanted to enjoy restaurants in Karuizawa, so we chose this Accommodation with No Meals Included. The bed was very comfortable, the bathtub was spacious, and the shower had plenty of hot water. For breakfast (8:00–10:00), you can order a hot sandwich and a drink at the café on the first floor—it was very delicious. The owner also shared recommendations for great bakeries and local tips. This is a Hotel we would like to stay at again.

I stayed here on a solo trip. It was close to the station, which was very convenient since I was traveling by train and on foot. The Room was spacious and relaxing, and it helped me recover from travel fatigue. Breakfast had a gentle flavor and was very delicious. Thank you for your hospitality.

The front side of the accommodation faces a field, with a horse pasture in the back. If you're lucky, you can catch a distant view of Mt. Fuji, allowing you to relax and unwind. The owner is attentive and considerate to each guest, maintaining a comfortable distance. The room is standard, the toilet is modern, the bath temperature is perfect, and Wi-Fi connectivity is excellent. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, making for an elegant experience.

We stayed for five nights as a family. It was in a location that let us live like locals in Kyoto. There was a ramen and gyoza restaurant next door, a convenience store across the street, and a well-stocked supermarket within walking distance (with a 100-yen shop and fast-food restaurants as well). The Kyoto Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle were also within walking distance. We could easily go out for breakfast in different places, too. Even when we came back tired from sightseeing every day, we had fluffy beds, a spacious bathroom, strong shower pressure, and a large table in the living area. Because it was clearly separated from the bedroom, it was perfect for the kids to do their summer homework. Using the key card to take the elevator up felt great—when the door opened, it was already our own private floor/Room space.

I stayed during the cold season in December. When I checked into the Room, the air conditioning was on, and it was warm, which made me very happy. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.

I was a little unsure about where the reception was, but they kindly assisted me over the phone and I found it right away! The Room and kitchen were both very well equipped, and the Facility amenities were excellent. There were also plenty of amenities for dogs, which was really helpful!! We were able to let our dog run around in the outdoor garden, and we were very satisfied! Thank you!

Simple yet comfortable rooms, many of which have separate bathrooms and washbasins. Although there are no windows, the lighting creates a relaxing atmosphere. There is also a space on the floor where you can enjoy tea and unwind. Breakfast is served in two shifts, starting at 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, with each shift lasting 30 minutes, which was surprising. It would have been helpful if this detail was clearly explained during the Reservation process. However, since there seemed to be plenty of seating available, we were not rushed even after the designated time had passed. Still, it made for a slightly hurried morning. The location is excellent with many tourist attractions and restaurants within walking distance.

After check-in, we were informed that the Onsen at the affiliated Facility was still under renovation, so we received admission tickets to a nearby hot spring Facility and were able to enjoy Aso Onsen. In the morning, we had breakfast while taking in the magnificent panoramic views of Aso—it was a truly luxurious moment. Our grandchildren were very happy as well, and we’ll be back again next year!

A stylish two-story Hotel with a clean and relaxing interior. There is a simple but covered parking area for motorcycles, which was very helpful. On the day of arrival, there was heavy rain just before reaching the Hotel. If only I had arrived 10 minutes earlier...

I stayed here on a trip to Arima Onsen. The parking lot is very far away, so it’s quite inconvenient without the Shuttle Service. The check-in and check-out locations are also separate, which was inconvenient, but the Facility is clean and Gin no Yu is within walking distance. It was great that I could walk to various places in the downtown area!

I often visit the nearby shops, so I’d been curious about this place for a while and decided to stay. It’s set slightly back from the main street, but the attached bakery is delicious, and there are many great restaurants nearby, making it a very convenient location. The interior has a modern Japanese style, and the solid wood flooring feels great even barefoot. The standout feature is the large hinoki bath. Even tall guests can stretch their legs out comfortably, and the scent of hinoki is very relaxing. It’s rare to find such a large hinoki bath even at other Hotels. The tub can also be filled automatically, which was fantastic. All Facilities are up to date, and there was nothing inconvenient compared with staying at a Hotel. Since this is a renovated property with traditional-sized beams, guests over 180 cm may bump their head, so please be careful—it’s annoying at first but you get used to it. There are some downsides—like the TV being hard to figure out and the stairs being steep—but the biggest thing to note is that because this Facility shares space with shops, you can hear more noise than expected from early morning as the bakery prepares for opening. During the day as well, you can clearly hear customers and probably children of people eating in. From the large opening at the back of the second floor and from the rear garden area, you can also smell bread coming in from the bakery. Whether this feels noisy or adds to its machiya character may depend on personal preference. There were moments when it didn’t feel very calm, but overall it was a good experience. We stayed here with six people in late July. We didn’t receive an email from the owner, so we contacted IKYU, and they responded promptly. As noted on the site, there is no air conditioning on the second floor where the bedrooms are. In midsummer, when the roof heats up, it may feel quite hot. Other than that, the interior is stylish and well designed, and there were plenty of cooking utensils. There was also a Balmuda toaster, making cooking very comfortable. In the morning, we enjoyed breakfast on the cool terrace. Even with six loud women traveling together, we were able to chat as much as we wanted. Next time, I’d like to visit in a season when we can use the fireplace. I’d also like to check out nearby cafes and bakeries.

Stayed on the last day of Obon, 8/16. It was over 36°C in the lower areas that day, but thanks to the shade from the trees, it felt much cooler, and we were able to stay in the cottage without air conditioning. I was slightly worried due to reviews mentioning musty bedding, but there was no such issue, and we had a very comfortable stay. The next day, my daughter seemed to have lost her binoculars while playing mini-golf. When I inquired later, one of the staff members kindly searched around the mini-golf parking lot, benches, and course despite the heat. Although they couldn’t find it at that time, they later discovered it on another day at a further part of the course and contacted us by matching our memory with their accommodation records. My daughter cherished those binoculars for birdwatching and was thrilled when they were found. A big thank you to both the staff member who searched for them in such hot weather and those who eventually found them! Truly impressive service from PICA—your staff is top-notch! We will definitely visit again!
