The building is old, and there was an unpleasant smell outside the room, possibly due to an out-of-service restroom nearby. However, the room was clean, and the Onsen was very relaxing. The location was excellent. From the Room, the lobby, and even the elevator, we could enjoy beautiful views of Ise Bay, which was truly moving. The view from the lounge was also lovely, and I wish it had been available for longer hours. We chose a Japanese-style Room, and both the Room and tatami were clean, so we felt comfortable throughout our stay. We also enjoyed the Onsen, including both the large public bath and the open-air bath. The late-night Ise udon as well as the ice cream and coffee were delicious. The Ryokan staff were kind and made us feel at ease. It was also very convenient for visiting Futami Okitama Shrine, Ise Grand Shrine, and Toba Aquarium. The salmon at breakfast was large, filling, and delicious. Next time, we plan to choose a Plan that includes dinner. We’re very happy to have found an Accommodation we’d love to stay at again after such a long time. Thank you very much.

On the recommendation of an acquaintance who lives in Ibusuki, I stayed here in March and April this year. What stands out most about Ginsho is the delicious food! In addition to fresh local sashimi, the freshly fried Satsuma-age was exceptional. The seasoning was not too strong, and the portions were just right. The Onsen water quality was also excellent. I was able to relax and unwind.\n\nThe friendly and wonderful proprietress, whose warm personality truly shows in her smile, took great care of me. All of the staff were kind and provided very pleasant service. I will visit again soon. Thank you very much for everything!

I almost don’t want to share this, but I can see how hard everyone at the Hotel is working… Relax on the lovely terrace (it’s cool, and the breeze feels wonderful. Free drinks are a nice bonus, too). Unwind in the Onsen (the open-air bath is inside the building, so it stays pleasantly cool in the shade. The large windows open fully for an airy feel, and you can relax while looking out at the forest). The walkway to the dining area feels like stepping into another world—very inspiring—and of course, the food is delicious. On our way home, we had soft-serve ice cream at Takasu Farmers in Hirugano Kogen. It was great value and incredibly tasty. We also bought some lily flowers to take home. Although it’s a bit far from Shimoda Station, they offer not only a Shuttle Service from the station but also a Shuttle Service to Sotoura Beach. If you plan to relax nearby, you won’t feel inconvenienced at all even without renting a car. There is a complimentary drink bar inside the property, and it was great that we could even enjoy beer and highballs. The pool is also available, and all the staff were very kind and helpful. What stood out most was the excellent service for children. They handed out “Rock-Paper-Scissors Rally Cards,” and if kids won three times against staff members, they received fireworks. At night, we used them to have fun on the beach, and our child was absolutely delighted. Just as the Reviews we checked in advance said, this really is a wonderful Hotel. If we have another chance to visit Shimoda, we would definitely stay here again.

We visited last year and had such a wonderful time that we came back again this year. Every breakfast and dinner was delicious, generous in portion, and completely satisfying. Swimming in the pool after dinner and after breakfast made us feel like kids again—so much fun. The Room was spotless and well maintained, which we really appreciated.
