We stayed here during a holiday. I have used several Ryokan in Sumoto Onsen before, but this time we had an especially wonderful stay. The private open-air bath let us fully enjoy the ocean view. We were also very grateful for the thoughtful consideration shown to my pregnant wife regarding the meals. Although the property shows some age, I think it is a Ryokan where you can have a truly pleasant stay.

As it was an Executive Room, everything was taken care of for us. We checked in while enjoying a welcome of chilled roasted green tea and sweets on the 6th floor. We were also kindly escorted to our Room while chatting along the way. After that, having a drink while relaxing at the Hanabi Lounge on the 28th floor was truly exceptional. A cake was delivered at the time we requested, and we enjoyed it slowly together with the night view. The Room furnishings were flawless, and the fluffy bed felt like nothing else could compare. Before we knew it, there was a message from a staff member slipped under our door, which we greatly appreciated. We look forward to staying again using this Plan. We stayed as a family. It was a very spacious Ryokan, and just walking around the building felt exciting. Dinner and breakfast were especially wonderful! The portions were generous, every dish was delicious, and we were very satisfied. For the children’s meals, they had kid-friendly options like hamburg steak and omurice, and our child ate happily—it was great to see how much they enjoyed it. The breakfast buffet also had a wide variety of choices, and the freshly made onigiri rice balls that the chef shaped one by one on the spot were especially delicious! There were two types of baths as well, and we enjoyed both. However, it was a bit disappointing that there was an unpleasant fishy odor in one area of the open-air bath. If that could be improved, it would be even more comfortable to use. Other than that, considering the price, it was excellent value for money, and the staff were polite and pleasant throughout. Our whole family had a great time overall, and we’re very satisfied. We’d love to stay again if we have another chance!

We stayed in the Kozu Room. The Room was spacious and comfortable. Although the facilities are mostly shared with Kowakien, they are clearly separated in various ways, which was great. The meals were delicious and more than we could finish. All the staff were courteous, and we had a wonderful time. This is an Accommodation I can recommend.

I stayed with my Chi-poo. The Room was clean, and it was great to have a private open-air bath. It would have been perfect if we could dine in the restaurant together with our dog. The on-site dog run is covered with wood chips, which is a thoughtful, dog-friendly touch. The staff were pleasant, and it was a wonderful Accommodation. We stayed in a detached maisonette in the annex. The Room was very clean and stylish, and the amenities and bath were excellent. Having two toilets was very convenient! We also used the pool, but perhaps because it wasn’t very crowded, the changing room and toilets are shared by both men and women, so we felt we needed to be mindful about taking turns. The buffet had a wide variety of dishes and was delicious. Mornings get busy, and since check-out is at 10:00, we wished it could be 11:00 at least for the detached Rooms. Overall, we were very satisfied and would like to stay again.

There were drink bars on the first and third floors, offering a great selection of beverages, including alcohol at night. While the atmosphere was calm and relaxing, there were also facilities like a pool, vast lawns, and a nearby beach where children could enjoy themselves.

My father loved this Accommodation so much during our previous stay that we came back again. Everyone on the staff was so thoughtful, and the food in particular was delicious. We could really feel your hospitality. Even the tableware became part of our conversation, and my father’s favorite—pike conger—was especially tasty. Even after we got home, he kept saying, “It was delicious.” The portions were generous, so it may have been a bit too much for seniors. I felt bad leaving some behind.
