The Room with a full lake view was excellent. Unfortunately, the explanations were lacking, which was a shame, but dinner was delicious. If there had been explanations about the food and drinks, it would have been even more enjoyable—every dish was carefully prepared. The large public bath was also very good. The open-air bath as well.

This was my first time staying here. We stayed in a charming Room located in a renovated storehouse at this innovative Ryokan with a traditional dining experience. The location is close to popular tourist spots like Kodaiji Temple and Nanzenji Temple, making it ideal for those who enjoy walking. The front desk staff, originally from Nepal, provided impeccable Japanese-style hospitality, which was impressive and pleasant. For breakfast, since we enjoyed Kyoto cuisine the night before, we opted for morning meals at a nearby café instead of the Japanese bento offered by the Ryokan. It was just right—I had toast, but they also offered options like curry rice. I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

I stayed for one night with a friend. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, knitting while watching dramas, and spending time at a relaxed pace surrounded by nature! The cabin was well-equipped with various utensils and seasonings, which was very convenient. Additionally, the distance from neighboring cabins allowed us to enjoy our stay without worrying about others. I would love to visit other SANU locations as well!

We stayed for two nights, using this dog-first Accommodation as our base for exploring Shiga and Hyogo. The Room had a wonderful atmosphere, and even with five adults it didn’t feel cramped—we were able to relax comfortably. Having a convenience store right in front is very handy, but since the street out front has quite a bit of traffic, light sleepers may notice the noise. The bedroom was on the second floor, and the stairs were steeper than expected. With a small dog you can probably carry them up, but if you’re bringing a medium-sized or larger dog that sleeps with you upstairs, it might be a bit challenging. Our dog was happy relaxing downstairs, so it wasn’t an issue for us. We also wanted to visit “Juunintoiro” with our dog, but we ended up getting back late from watching the Inter-High games and couldn’t make it—such a shame. Next time we’d love to come in a cooler season, enjoy Omihachiman at a leisurely pace, and stop by Juunintoiro during our walk!

As this was my first time staying at a private rental, and some Reviews made me a bit nervous about check-in, I was able to enter the Room without any issues. *Please note: the pre-check-in URL and related details are sent a few days before your stay, not immediately after your Reservation.* The location is just a few minutes’ walk from Nagoya Station, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby. I didn’t have many Room options due to my dates, but it felt just right for 2–3 people. The fridge/freezer was larger than the one at home (lol), and there were plenty of clean plates and glasses. There was also a rice cooker! The washer-dryer isn’t hot-air drying, but I think most items will dry as long as they aren’t too thick. The bathroom was spacious and had a reheating function. As noted in the in-room notices, footsteps do carry due to the building structure, so I could hear them throughout my stay—but compared with a typical business hotel, it felt acceptable. There were also houseplants on the balcony, and I really enjoyed my first private rental stay near Nagoya Station. Next time I’d like to try another Room as well. Looking forward to it.

I was looking for an affordable Accommodation for a 10-night Multiple Night Stay and ended up here. The toilet and bathroom are shared, but having a private Room at this price is truly appreciated. The location is also great—right near Chion-in Temple, and within walking distance of Gion-Shijo and Heian Shrine. (I even walked to Ginkaku-ji.) The landlady is usually there from around 9:00 to 21:00, which made me feel safe. The Room and bathrooms are clean, and both the landlady and other guests are friendly, making it very comfortable. In the dining area there is a toaster, microwave, and hot/cold water dispenser, so you can do simple cooking. Free coffee and tea are also available, so I enjoyed a relaxed breakfast every day. Highly recommended!

We stayed in a first-floor Room, and both the Room and the Onsen were spacious, allowing us to relax in great comfort. The tea served at check-in in our Room was truly delicious. It was the first time we’ve stayed at an Accommodation where we could freely enjoy such carefully selected tea and black tea. The selection of welcome drinks and snacks in the Room was also plentiful. I love drinking tea with good water, so having 2L of water provided was a personal highlight. I also appreciated having both yukata and loungewear. The staff were very kind. We had a wonderful stay and would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

The Room was spacious, and our family of five stayed comfortably. The location was convenient with great access to transportation—no complaints. If I had to mention one thing, it was a bit inconvenient that whenever someone left the Room alone, another person had to see them off and lock the door.

We stayed for one night with our child (6 years old) and relatives. The moment we entered the Room, we were surrounded by the scent of hinoki cypress and instantly felt relaxed. The amenities and Facility were all stylish, and we were able to spend our time feeling truly pampered. I usually really dislike typical Hotel pajamas (the comfort...) and hair dryers (the airflow just isn’t enough for thick hair...), but at hon, both were not only fine—they were genuinely impressive! I even checked the price of the pajamas online to buy them for home, and it made perfect sense. We were told in advance that “due to the structure, sound can carry easily,” and I did notice some noise from upstairs as I was falling asleep. That said, it’s really just luck, so if you think it might bother you, bringing earplugs could be a good idea. Overall, I felt this Accommodation is more suited for adults, but surprisingly my 6-year-old son seemed to like it the most (lol). The staff were also very pleasant, and we had a comfortable stay. There is a guide to the Accommodation, and there was a small sign that said “ZEN,” but the building was hard to see from outside, so I wasn’t sure I was in the right place and got lost at first. After climbing the stairs surrounded by greenery, I finally reached a beautiful standalone Accommodation and felt relieved. In reality, it’s not possible to drive into the parking area; you can only park in the space in front of it. It gets very dark at night, so if it’s your first time, it may be hard to find—checking in while it’s still daylight is recommended. Inside, the space feels open and airy, and relaxing on the outdoor chairs was a real luxury. It was a bit disappointing that mornings and evenings were still chilly. There is a wood-burning stove, but I missed that it requires advance Reservation and an additional fee. Since it wasn’t really stove season anyway, I imagine it would be excellent in winter. There also seemed to be a beer server (advance Reservation?), as well as a kitchen and electric cooktop, so self-catering is possible—I probably just wasn’t prepared enough to make full use of everything. I think satisfaction would be even higher with a Multiple Night Stay, especially in winter.

They kindly stored my luggage before check-in, which was a huge help. The front desk staff were very courteous, and both the Room and the unit bath were clean, so I had a very comfortable stay. When I visit Kyoto again, I’d love to stay here again. Thank you!

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days with two adults and one dog. The high ceiling created an amazing sense of openness the moment we entered the Room, and the greenery spreading across the windows was even more beautiful than we imagined! We had a relaxing time cooking with ingredients bought at a local supermarket, listening to music, and unwinding—it was truly refreshing. We would love to stay again.

I chose an accommodation where we could relax in a private space for a gathering with old friends. The kitchen was equipped with cooking utensils and tableware, allowing us to enjoy making and sharing sukiyaki together. Outside the window, there was a beautiful snowy landscape, and the time spent enjoying warm meals was truly wonderful. At night, the clear air revealed a breathtaking starry sky when we stepped outside. Spending time with old friends in peaceful nature offered a special experience that is hard to find in the city. The room was spacious and very comfortable, making it perfect for a multiple night stay to fully unwind. SANU seems to have multiple locations, so I would love to visit again!

I used this place for the first time because I was attracted by the open-air bath. I was able to enjoy a large open-air bath where I could stretch out my arms and relax. (I entered it more than 10 times.) In addition to water, two drinks were prepared in the refrigerator, and I enjoyed COEDO beer in the open-air bath. The garden at night was also lit up and very beautiful. It is really just a few minutes from Kawagoe City Station, and there are convenience stores and places to eat nearby. I think it's a perfect location for those visiting Kawagoe. I would like to go back soon to relax again. Thank you very much.

We stayed for one night as a family of four after returning from USJ. First, we checked in around 9 PM, and the floor heating was on, making it warm and very appreciated. The abundance of complimentary welcome sweets, drinks, and amenities made us feel the hospitality, which was delightful. The building is a well-renovated old house, so you can feel traces of the past here and there, but the simple and tasteful design and interior allowed us to have a very pleasant stay. The highlight is the location, about a 5-minute walk to Todai-ji Temple, and you can also see the Great Buddha Hall of Todai-ji from the second floor. The luxury of being able to take a leisurely walk to Todai-ji during the early morning when there are fewer tourists is unique to this place. Overall, we were satisfied, but I would like to mention two points we noticed. The barrel sauna, which we were looking forward to, was quite good, but there was only one wooden bench in the relaxation space, and there were no chairs with backrests or infinity chairs, which seemed like a missed opportunity. Also, we added firewood to the fireplace and lit it with the provided gas burner, but only large logs were available, and since the lid had to remain open while lighting with the burner, smoke filled the room, causing a family member with weak respiratory health to start coughing, so we closed the lid early, and the fire went out midway. It would be nice if kindling-sized wood could also be provided. If these two points could be improved, I believe it would become an even more wonderful Facility.
