For the main bedding, we use futons made with natural horsehair, now a rarity, offering a uniquely balanced firmness for an unparalleled sleeping experience.

This beautiful Japanese-style house is the only temple estate resort on Ishigaki Island, offering a glimpse into Japan's rich history. In 2020, we renovated a traditional Japanese house on Awaji Island to create a new place to call home. This area, where Higashiyama Roku is located, is called "Rokuhara," and nearby are Rokuharamitsu-ji Temple, Rokkaku-no-Tsuji, and Rokuhara Chinko-ji Temple. A Kyo-machiya, completed in Taisho 3 (1914), has been carefully restored by skilled craftsmen, preserving its original exterior. Inside the building, features such as fittings and transoms, which have been cherished by generations of owners, reflect over 100 years of history. We have created a serene space where guests staying at the Property can also feel a connection to the time when the building was originally constructed. The Rooms at Higashiyama Roku have been designed under the supervision of washi paper designer Eriko Horiki, who created washi light walls and lighting, offering a space where guests can enjoy the subtle shadows, the charm, and the transitions of a machiya. The lighting and Shigaraki ware round bathtubs, supervised by washi designer Eriko Horiki, as well as the noren (curtain) featuring calligraphy by Hina Aoyagi, the director of the Hokuriku Calligraphy Institute, are just some of the carefully curated details found throughout.

"Shinshinen," a renowned machiya in Nishijin, is a 160-year-old traditional architectural gem. Step inside and be transported back to the Edo period with its preserved historical charm. The property features classic machiya elements such as a tōriniwa (passage garden), an inner garden, and a tsuboniwa adorned with Kibune stones sourced from Kibune Shrine, creating picturesque beauty akin to artwork. Accommodations include two guest rooms: one with a 12-tatami shoin-style living room and another with an 8-tatami living room, accommodating up to 9 guests. Enjoy the tranquility and lush greenery of this private machiya rental for a truly relaxing stay.

A 3-minute walk from Mibu-dera Temple in Kyoto, associated with the Shinsengumi. This is a whole rental Property renovated from a traditional Kyoto townhouse (Kyo-machiya) built in the early Showa period. The living room, with large windows facing the tsuboniwa (small garden), seamlessly connects to the wooden deck space of the outer veranda, creating a sense of unity between the inside and outside of the building. The Property features a bathroom facing the tsuboniwa on two sides, a kitchen for self-catering, a Japanese-style room, and two bedrooms each with a double bed. Enjoy a luxurious stay in a space where the inside and outside of the townhouse, tradition and modernity, blend together and elevate to new heights.

Located near Kanazawa's bustling district "Korinbo" and the "21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa," the Property "Bukeyashiki Hanatsume" is a renovated traditional townhouse (machiya) in the historic "Nagamachi Samurai District," known for its beautiful stone-paved streets. This Property offers a completely private space, accommodating only one group per day with an entire house rental. The design is inspired by "Kutani ware," a traditional Kanazawa craft favored by samurai of the past. On the first floor, you'll find a dining area featuring a large artwork inspired by "Kutani ware," a Japanese-style room and sofa space overlooking a courtyard garden. The second floor includes both Japanese and Western-style bedrooms. The bathroom is equipped with a round bathtub reminiscent of a Goemon bath, and the kitchen is modernized for self-catering, ensuring a comfortable stay while enjoying the atmosphere of the samurai district. This machiya is perfect for various occasions, such as trips with your spouse, partner, or family. When Reserved together with the neighboring machiya "Bukeyashiki Shiori," the Property can accommodate up to 12 guests, allowing large groups to enjoy a luxurious and spacious stay.

Sugi-no-Ie is surrounded by beautiful cedar-covered mountains and peaceful rural scenery. The spacious private dog run, visible from your Room, is approximately 300 m². In the dog run, you can enjoy a BBQ or a campfire while watching your dog play. From the relaxing living area filled with the natural scent of 120-year-old wood, the open layout overlooks the earthen-floored space, bedrooms, and garden—so both dogs and families can feel at ease throughout their stay.

Kurume Kasuri, Buddhist altars, lanterns, washi paper, woodworking, bamboo crafts, ceramics, to sake and Yame tea. The Yame area in the Chikugo region of Fukuoka Prefecture is home to a thriving craft culture, nurtured by its rich natural resources and history as a merchant town. Craft Inn 手 [té], located in a traditional townscape of Yame, is a Property where you can experience the craftsmanship of Kyushu. The two Rooms, themed around indigo and bamboo, are adorned with furniture and furnishings created by artisans from Kyushu, utilizing local materials and techniques.
