Nestled in a quiet mountain setting, we were able to relax at a leisurely pace surrounded by nature. The soothing hot spring water felt wonderful on the skin, and the breakfast we requested to add at check-in was simple yet very delicious. The staff’s hospitality was excellent. I booked a breakfast-included Plan, and the meal was beautifully presented, with delicious rice. At the on-site pastry shop, their desire for guests to truly enjoy the sweets really came through. I tried the silky pudding with vanilla beans and it was outstanding. It seems you can also buy pastries for takeout, so I’d like to stop by again when I visit Utsunomiya. Since weddings are held here as well, the lobby and other areas felt calm and pleasant. The Room is a bit small, but it’s good value for the price. There’s also a Lawson right in front, which is convenient. Even when I checked in early, the staff were welcoming and shared lots of helpful information—thank you. The Onsen suited me perfectly and felt wonderful!

This accommodation is highly recommended for a multiple night stay. One night is simply not enough. There are plenty of experiences to enjoy, such as cooking in a fully equipped kitchen, gathering herbs on the property, watching movies with a projector, reading books available in the room, grinding and brewing your own coffee beans, and sitting by the campfire. During this visit, I stayed for one night and felt reluctant to leave. I promised my friends that we would definitely come back again. The open space with high ceilings and large windows was incredibly pleasant. Next time, I plan to stay longer to enjoy drawing, knitting, reading books, relaxing in the sauna, or taking walks. This is the perfect place to escape from the busyness of city life and take time to reconnect with yourself—highly recommended!

The Room was spacious and had a sofa, so we could relax comfortably, and the bath was wonderful—like a stone bath. If I may mention just one thing, since pets are allowed and there is a small garden, it would have been even better if it were fenced so that small dogs could run around. The staff’s greetings are outstanding. The Facility and Rooms are frequently renovated, so everything is spotless. The dinner and breakfast venues also feel fresh, and you can really see the ongoing effort to keep updating the menu, interior design, and even the lighting. The food is stylish with a wide variety of dishes. The dessert corner at dinner is especially delicious, with baked sweets and cakes made using various fruits. Personally, I was happy to see blueberries on the buffet given the season. Marriott never disappoints wherever you stay in Japan or abroad, but Yamanakako was particularly memorable!
