I found Sugatani Onsen while looking for an Accommodation where I could stay with my pet, without knowing the name beforehand. It was very comfortable. I brought pet pads, but if possible, I would like you to provide some spares. There is no need to lay out the futon during meals; I worry my dog might bark, so it makes me more concerned. The air conditioner noise felt a little loud. The meals were very delicious. It is a quiet location away from the crowds.

We chose this Accommodation for a 3-night Multiple Night Stay because it can host three pets, has parking, and the hinoki bath was the deciding factor. During the day, we left our pets at a nearby pet house and fully enjoyed sightseeing in Kyoto by rental bicycle. Coming back to the Accommodation and relaxing in the hinoki bath to soothe our tiredness was the best! Also, there was a supermarket nearby, so we had no trouble with meals. We stayed in August. The Hotel itself felt a bit old, but the necessary areas have been renovated. Good points - The Hotel has an outdoor pool. It’s a bit far to Ito Orange Beach, so the pool is more than enough for kids to play. It’s also heated, and the water temperature was comfortable. - There are karaoke rooms, table tennis, and a free manga corner. - The complimentary Onsen manju at welcome service is delicious. - As part of the Fujita Kanko Group, there are Plans that include free tickets to Hakone Kowakien Yunessun and Shimoda Aquarium. There is also a 24-hour MaxValu right next door, where you can buy any snacks or treats you need. Points for improvement - If it’s only seafood, it can get repetitive, so I’d like more variety in meat and vegetable dishes as well. - I would prefer card keys for the Room. Overall, I felt it offered excellent value for money.

The building is spread out horizontally, so depending on where your Room is located, it can be quite a walk to the restaurant, baths, and lobby. Other than that, there were no particular issues or complaints. It was a truly wonderful Accommodation. Although the large public bath is not an Onsen, it offers three different water temperatures (high/medium/low) and water types, plus a carbonated bath. Other guests also mentioned that it might be more effective than some Onsen. The restaurant (buffet-style) had a wide variety of dishes, and the staff were excellent—one thoughtful touch was that they even informed us that ice cream could be taken back to our Room. I believe drinks inside the facility were reasonably priced as well—for example, a 350 ml can of beer was 350 yen. The souvenir shop opens from 7:30 a.m. It has a great selection, and you can probably find most things you need there.
