Japanese sake sommelier "kikisakeshi" & "Vegetable sommelier" & "Onsen sommelier" and other specialists provide hospitality.

A Ryokan for adults with over 110 years of history, located on the highlands of the Shigisan National Park, offering majestic mountain views and tranquility. From the guest rooms and the large communal bath on the national park side, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Shigisan. The stunning scenery and fresh air allow you to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and experience an extraordinary moment. Our carefully crafted creative Kaiseki cuisine, infused with Western essence, is meticulously prepared by our head chef using carefully selected seasonal ingredients. We personally visit producers to ensure the quality and passion behind the ingredients. Monthly tasting sessions are held within the team to perfect the seasonal Kaiseki menu. Responding to popular demand, in July 2022, we transformed the large communal bath and guest rooms with open-air baths into Onsen facilities. As an Onsen property, we have further enhanced our offerings. Enjoy the smooth and gentle Onsen waters as many times as you like. Additionally, our property is home to a variety of specialists, which adds to its charm. The master of our property is a "Sake Sommelier," and the proprietress is both a "Vegetable Sommelier" and an "Onsen Sommelier." What is a "Sake Sommelier"? A professional in Japanese sake, often referred to as the 'Sommelier of Sake.' At Kakimotoya, we carefully select local sake from Nara, matching the season and the monthly Kaiseki menu, and offer them with a professional touch. What is a "Vegetable Sommelier"? An expert in selecting vegetables and fruits, understanding their nutrients, and determining the best cooking methods for each ingredient.

Yamaguchi City recommended by the New York Times! A private rental villa cottage in the historic Onsen town of Yuda Onsen.

As you open the entrance, you'll find a dirt floor area leading to the living room, along with a traditional Japanese-style room featuring a raised tatami area and a tokonoma, allowing you to enjoy the charm of a Japanese house. In the living space with a pellet stove, you can relax in winter while watching the fire, and in the raised tatami area, you can unwind with an evening drink or let your children play comfortably. A large smart TV is available, and you can enjoy Netflix for free! Accommodating up to 6 people, this house is perfect for couples, families, or friends on a casual sightseeing trip. The Facility includes only a shower room, but there are plenty of places nearby where you can enjoy day-use Onsen. Yuda Onsen is a historic Onsen that has existed for about 810 years, with a legend called the "White Fox Legend," which tells of an injured white fox that healed its wounds by soaking in the hot springs every night. Within walking distance, there are five footbath spots, making a footbath tour highly recommended! Around the town, you can also find six types of adorable "beckoning fox" statues, a pure white "fox mailbox," and manhole covers illustrated with the White Fox Legend. Exploring the area while searching for these features sounds like a lot of fun!
