The Iya Valley, where the Iya River flows from Mount Tsurugi and carves a V-shape into the Shikoku Mountains, offers breathtakingly majestic gorge scenery. "Keikoku no Kakure Yado Iya Bijin" is a Property with an Onsen and a soba restaurant, located right in front of this lush green valley and clear stream. Originally opened in 1975 as a handmade soba restaurant using local buckwheat and spring water, the Property later added 8 Rooms and a detached accommodation to provide visitors to Iya with a more relaxing and leisurely stay. All Rooms are equipped with open-air baths, allowing guests to fully enjoy the Onsen while admiring the stunning views. For meals, indulge in unique dishes featuring local river fish and vegetables, or gather around the irori hearth for hot pot and charcoal-grilled delicacies. To finish, savor our specialty Iya soba. Our facility features only 10 Rooms on a vast property. The Rooms are detached and include open-air baths. Meals are served in private dining rooms for both breakfast and dinner. Two private baths along the stream allow for a stay that prioritizes privacy.

The history of Fujiya Ryokan is long-standing, with records indicating that its predecessor, an Onsen inn, existed as far back as the late Edo period. In fact, buildings from the end of the Edo era remained until 1968. According to the "Yugawara Guide" published in 1918, Fujiya Ryokan began as an Onsen Ryokan in 1876, and at the time, it was poetically named "Shuhoen." Crossing the Nagahashi Bridge over the Fujiki River, visitors would find a spacious property with pavilions and annexes, where flowers bloomed year-round. During the Meiji era, Fujiya Ryokan, Itoya Ryokan, Nakanishi Ryokan, and Amanoya were said to have formed a beautiful landscape with their main buildings, annexes, and other structures nestled amidst rich natural surroundings and gardens.
