We stayed as a family of three. My husband had stayed here twice before and recommended it, saying it was a wonderful Accommodation. It’s a small Ryokan, and perhaps because of that, we felt thoughtful attention to detail in every corner. What impressed us most was the food. Everything was delicious and carefully prepared. The garden view from our Room was also lovely. We thought the Japanese garden seen through the large windows must be at its best during the autumn foliage season.

The Room was clean and well maintained. The bed height and firmness were perfect for me. There was only a shower, but it was an overhead-style shower and felt great. However, the adjacent Onsen Facility was unavailable that day due to a mechanical issue, which was disappointing. So I’d rate the bath 3 stars. I think this is a Hotel I’d be happy to stay at for a Multiple Night Stay.

I chose this Accommodation because I was very interested in the open-air bath accessed by the mountain railway. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up using it three times during my stay. Since it was Monday right after the holiday period, it was very quiet, which was great. The Facility has the charm of a classic Onsen Accommodation, and the guest rooms have been beautifully renovated, making it extremely relaxing. I would love to stay again.

After completing the Reservation, the confirmation email included a message asking us to adjust our appetite to match dinner time. After dinner, we immediately understood why. From appetizers to dessert, everything was carefully prepared using seasonal local vegetables and meat, and every dish was delicious—we wanted seconds. Breakfast was also wonderful and made us feel like it would be a great start to the day. Our stay was on August 5. It was extremely hot during the day at 34°C, but it suddenly cooled down from evening. While we were having dinner from 18:30, a pleasant autumn-like breeze came in from outside. At night, with the windows closed, it was a comfortable 24°C—just right—and after being in air conditioning every day, our bodies felt relieved to be free of it. It was very comfortable overall. On the second floor there is a shared refrigerator and a dispenser with natural water that you can drink freely.

We stayed for a family trip with breakfast only. The room has four beds, and thanks to the two-seater sofa and table, even four adults could relax comfortably. The bathroom area was spacious and clean, and we enjoyed a relaxing bath. The view from the window and from the restaurant was wonderful, and breakfast was delicious. Since this trip was mainly for sightseeing, next time we’d like to spend more time relaxing at the Hotel. Highly recommended.

At check-in, the host greeted us very calmly and kindly, which immediately made us feel at ease. The Room had the basic amenities (towels, bath towels, toothbrushes, and yukata), and the bathroom vanity had razors, cotton swabs, a comb, and a hair dryer. We were also able to use the private bath (depending on the time slot) right away with perfect timing. I’m not sure about public transportation, but traveling by car was not inconvenient at all. There is a convenience store within walking distance; the only downside is that there aren’t any restaurants nearby. I’d like to stay again.

A luxuriously designed, calm Hotel for adults. Both the meals and service were very satisfying. The semi-open-air jacuzzi was also available, so it felt like we had it all to ourselves. Personally, it would be best if the bed were a bit softer. It was a wonderful Accommodation, just as the highly rated Reviews said.

I visited Kamikoshiki Island for a 2-night, 3-day trip starting June 8. The Hotel I stayed at, “HOTEL AreaOne Koshiki Island,” was just steps from Sato Port Terminal—an unbeatable location and the perfect base for exploring the island. The Room was on the 5th floor of a six-story building. As soon as I opened the door, the comforting scent of tatami welcomed me. The warmth of sleeping on a futon again made me want to just stretch out and relax right away. Unfortunately, light rain fell through the second day due to a weather front—but even that added to the atmosphere of the trip. Turning on the TV, I could watch NHK plus four commercial channels clearly (BS/CS wasn’t available), and it was genuinely pleasant to spend some quiet time unwinding in the Room. Best of all was the large Onsen bath! I eased my travel fatigue in the spacious indoor bath, then moved to the open-air bath where a refreshing breeze flowed through. Soaking while listening to raindrops made for an especially memorable and satisfying moment. Breakfast was a generous buffet-style spread. Even though I had it two mornings in a row, there were thoughtful changes to keep things interesting, so each morning still felt fresh and exciting. From Kagoshima’s famous crispy satsuma-age fish cakes to other local flavors lined up beautifully, it was hard not to keep eating from early in the day. (I had dinner elsewhere, but with breakfast this good, I can only imagine dinner would be delicious too.) Then came morning on day three. When I opened the curtains—clear skies as if all that rain had been a lie! From my 5th-floor window stretched a vivid ocean view as far as I could see. The sparkling sea and grand island scenery took my breath away in an instant—an unforgettable sight. It turned into an amazing 2-night stay where I got to fully enjoy both rainy-day charm and brilliant blue skies over the sea—truly luxurious in every way.

We stayed here while sightseeing in Azumino City and Nagano City. A few years ago we stayed at a different Hotel, but this Hotel is far better. The property was very clean and well maintained. The staff also made a great impression on us. Even my wife, who is usually quite critical, seemed very satisfied. We would like to stay at this Hotel again.

We stayed here for a family trip. The property was very clean, and we had a comfortable stay. The food was delicious, and we were able to enjoy the main steak freshly grilled. Thanks to Oyama no Endo, it was a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

We were completely satisfied overall! The staff kindly checked in to make sure our dog was comfortable, which we really appreciated. The Room was spotless and very clean. The amenities provided were stylish as well. Everything for the light BBQ and the paella ingredients was fresh, delicious, and we were very happy with it. We brought our own alcoholic drinks. Making hot sandwiches in the morning was a great experience too, since there’s an easy-to-follow instruction sheet. It was hot during the day, but at night the temperature became comfortable, and we could relax with our dog in a hammock. The ger tent we stayed in was a little farther away, so we weren’t bothered by other families’ dogs. The only downside is that there are some spots where the internet connection is weak, but it’s actually nice for unplugging and chilling away from everyday life. We’d definitely recommend this place to friends who have dogs.

Dinner was delicious as well—an unusual style of half-buffet with robatayaki grilling—and the large public bath with an open-air bath was very relaxing. The staff were courteous and attentive, which we really appreciated. The Facility is a bit old, but we chose this Accommodation in Tateshina as the place to commemorate reuniting with my wife for the first time in 50 years, and we were very satisfied. I love the calm atmosphere of Tateshina Tokyu Hotel and have stayed here several times. Its setting in the forest, the dignified yet unpretentious interiors, and the quiet time you can spend here offer a charm that is hard to find at other hotels. This time was no different, and it reminded me again how much I like this hotel. Also, though it’s a small thing, I really like the toothbrushes in the guest rooms. They’re comfortable to use, and I can feel the hotel’s thoughtfulness even in these details. I hope you will continue with the current ones. On the other hand, precisely because I’ve been coming for many years, there are a few things that disappointed me. The biggest one is that Japanese dinner has been discontinued since this year. On a Multiple Night Stay, we used to enjoy being able to choose “Western tonight, Japanese tomorrow” within the hotel itself. Especially for us—who prefer not to drive once we arrive and instead relax in the forest or inside—the option was very important. French cuisine certainly has its appeal, but having Western meals both nights makes it feel like a slightly different hotel than before. I would be happy if Japanese dinner becomes an option again someday. I was also sorry to hear that the garden pool, long loved by guests, has ended operations starting this year. I understand it was due to aging facilities (Facility), but combined with the end of Japanese dinner options (Facility), it feels as though some of what made Tateshina Tokyu special is gradually disappearing. One more thing I would love to see enhanced is the in-house library collection (Facility). This is such a quiet Hotel where you can relax while looking out at the forest—perfect for reading. The current selection feels lacking not so much in quantity as in curation quality. If there were more books that you’d want to pick up specifically because you came to Tateshina—on Shinshu’s nature and culture, mountains, architecture, travel writing, literature—it would make time spent at this Hotel even richer. I’m not asking for new facilities or services one after another. Rather, I hope you will continue cherishing and preserving what makes this Hotel unique. These comments come from someone who truly likes this Hotel—and I hope to keep visiting for many years to come.

15 minutes from Yugawara Station by local bus. Get off at the Onsenkyo bus stop and walk 1 minute. There is no Shuttle Service, but buses run frequently, so it was convenient. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM, but we arrived around 2:00 PM and waited in the lounge. Coffee and other drinks (available 24 hours) are free refills, so we could relax while waiting. After a short break, we left our luggage and went sightseeing at Fudo Falls, about a 6-minute walk away. After check-in, we could immediately enjoy the free-flowing Onsen. We relaxed in our Room until dinner time. The baths rotate by time between men and women. For the women’s bath, until 6:00 PM and from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM, it is an indoor Onsen without an open-air bath on the first floor with a sauna (no windows). From 6:30 PM to 6:00 AM the next day, it becomes an Onsen with an open-air bath—this one was excellent. It’s a Japanese-style room, and you lay out your own futon. Dinner was vegetable-focused. The bean rice is cooked at the table. There is also a mini buffet where you can have as much as you like—drinks, desserts, soft-serve ice cream, and fruit. I was completely full and very satisfied. Maybe it’s part of Noguchi Kanko? It felt slightly upscale and was very nice. We were also able to use a coupon discount and stay at a great price.

Unfortunately, due to cloudy and rainy weather, we couldn’t see the starry sky, but we’re already thinking about when to come back for another try. There was a warm, homey atmosphere among guests as well—people asked questions and helped each other out. The drink corner was a great idea, but even after trying many times, no ice came out, and there were a few things that were unclear. An elderly guest seemed troubled because the coffee wouldn’t stop dispensing. I think it would be helpful to post easy-to-understand instructions. At mealtimes, the staff serving us were all foreigners, but they were very polite. Their Japanese was quite limited at times so we didn’t always understand what they said, but we could generally guess from the context and had no issues. One thing that stood out compared with other hotels I’ve stayed at: since it’s a quiet Hotel I thought this might be normal here, but I was surprised that none of the staff said “good morning” to guests in the morning. When my husband passed by the front desk he greeted them first; they may not have heard him, but they were chatting among themselves and didn’t greet guests even as people walked right in front of them. In contrast, the foreign staff in the restaurant—even with limited Japanese—did say “good morning.” Also, the Onsen was wonderful, but there is no fan in the changing room. Having one would help guests cool down more easily and might reduce crowding there. The large public bath and open-air bath are very comfortable and warm you up well. The green view from the open-air bath—and in the morning, clouds or mist drifting over the mountains—felt truly unique. The meals were a good portion size and showed creativity within their price range. Dinner offered an enjoyable mix of Japanese- and Western-style dishes with plenty of variety. Breakfast was buffet-style with many options including both Western and Japanese items as well as desserts; everyone seemed to be enjoying it. The highland area is beautiful—it feels like it could even become a villa resort area someday. We also visited Relaxia Forest next to the Hotel (apparently used as a movie filming location). It’s a lovely forest where we could enjoy forest bathing too. There don’t seem to be any other Hotels around this area, so we’d like to stay again.

I stayed in a budget single room on a solo trip. I was able to relax in the bath, and for dinner I enjoyed the fair’s Japanese Black Wagyu hamburger steak, rice topped with whitebait, and kenchin-jiru soup. I also used the karaoke, and the next morning I took another bath before breakfast. With Hakone so close by, I was very satisfied for 10,000 yen.

This was a calm, relaxing Ryokan right in front of Lake Biwa. The three of us—my older sister, my 93-year-old mother, and I—stayed here to celebrate my mother’s birthday. All the staff were very kind, and above all, every meal was delicious and truly enjoyable. The amber tea sweets are Futabaso’s original specialty and were incredibly tasty. I wanted to buy some but had given up because there was no shop on-site. When I asked a staff member, they told me it could be ordered for delivery, and they kindly prepared it for us before we left—making it the perfect souvenir. It was such a comfortable Ryokan that it made me want to book a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you very much to all the staff.

To all the staff at Karuizawa Club Hotel 1130, thank you as always for your kind support. My family has stayed here many times over the past few years, and this time we were finally able to make a Reservation for the Premium Family Suite Room we had long hoped for, so we stayed yesterday. As its name suggests, it was the highest-grade Room among the many Rooms at Karuizawa Hotel 1130. There was an open-air jacuzzi bath on the balcony, and two indoor baths inside as well. There were also two restrooms, and four separate rooms in total—one of them a bedroom with a skylight that lets you gaze up at the sky. Because every space was so luxurious, my whole family was thrilled the moment we stepped into each room. We had reserved Japanese kaiseki at Yamaboshi well in advance, but it was changed to a buffet Plan. Just like in Hewitt Resort’s TV commercial, the buffet venue was beautiful and the selection was extensive. From the live kitchen at dinner to freshly made rice balls at breakfast, everything exceeded our expectations. The staff were all courteous and kind, which helped us greatly. We also visited the open-air bath at Onioshi Onsen; it had been renovated and made it easier to access directly from the indoor bath area. We will be staying one more night later this month as well, and we are looking forward to enjoying the same Premium Family Suite Room again. Each time we stay, this wonderful Hotel continues to evolve even further—and it has become our family’s favorite. I hope other guests can experience that same sense of excitement too. I’ve traveled to Akan several times, but this was my first stay at this Accommodation. It has the feel of a long-established property, and the staff were calm, courteous, and kind. I was satisfied with both breakfast and dinner. The Onsen was very pleasant as well, but the sauna was too hot—right when I stepped in, I burned the soles of my feet. I had been looking forward to it, so it was a bit disappointing.
