I came by rental car. It’s a bit far, but that’s Hokkaido for you. First, the Room: it was a dormitory for three, but I shared with one person around my age, and we had a comfortable amount of personal space, so I could relax. Dinner was delicious home-style cooking with a wonderful handmade feel. Breakfast was also to my taste—gentle flavors you don’t get at a Hotel buffet, like salted grilled hokke. I saw the owner wiping down chairs that had gotten wet from the rain. Even though they were busy, I was truly impressed by their thoughtfulness. The scenery outside after the rain was uniquely Hokkaido—beautiful and breathtaking.

I visited “Haretara Iine” on a friend’s recommendation. It had a warm, homey atmosphere, and the owner and staff were cheerful and friendly, taking the time to speak with each guest. The meals were excellent, with plenty of local vegetables—beautifully presented and delicious. The bath was spacious as well, and it really helped me relax. Thank you very much.

We stayed for one night starting August 28. After finishing the Hakushu Distillery tour, we checked in around 4:00 PM and enjoyed the garden BBQ from 6:00 PM. Everything was delicious—beef, pork, and seafood, as well as the yakisoba served at the end, salt rice balls, and even dessert—and we were completely satisfied both physically and mentally. The bath is available 24 hours a day, and the far-infrared effect of the stone tub warmed us through to our core. From our Room, we had a stunning view of Mt. Fuji—an unbeatable location. The owner was also very friendly; we enjoyed chatting with them and had a truly relaxing time. This is a pension we would definitely like to stay at again.

To everyone at the Hotel, and Nagi—thank you for taking such great care of me. These two nights and three days truly helped me understand the concept of “luxury through simplicity.” It gave me a chance to reset by letting go of built-up fatigue and stress in both body and mind, and to spend unhurried time reflecting on myself. Next time I’ll stay for three nights and four days—and I’ll come see you again!

This was my third stay, and as always I was very satisfied with the meals, the baths, and the hospitality. The dinner in particular felt like a course meal, which made it enjoyable to savor at a relaxed pace. Being able to enjoy a variety of wines and sake with the coin system was also a real treat for anyone who loves alcohol. They also provided guidance on recommended spots for firefly viewing, and I was able to see countless fireflies dancing in the night. The mornings and evenings were cool, so the duvet came in handy. I would love to stay again.

My family visiting from overseas stayed here. As soon as they arrived at Tenku, they were impressed by the beautiful views, and they were also happy that the outdoor bath has a water heater, making it easy to use. Although the building isn’t very large, they were impressed by how comfortable and well designed it is. However, the bathroom felt quite small. They were surprised by the small bathroom, but throughout their stay they kept saying, “We want to come again.”

We stayed here as a family for our climb of the Three Mountains of Dewa. The vegetarian meals served in the morning and evening were carefully prepared, with each dish being incredibly delicious. Our entire family kept saying how amazing everything tasted! We were also deeply grateful to participate in the morning prayer service. Afterward, we had the opportunity to hear about the history of this accommodation from a Yamabushi monk, which was truly enlightening. On the first day, we climbed Mount Haguro and stayed at Daishinbo Accommodation. On the second day, we visited Mount Gassan and Mount Yudono while reflecting on what we learned from the Yamabushi monk. It was an extraordinary experience filled with luxury and meaning. We are so glad we came here—highly recommended!

The Onsen was amazing. Taking a walk and getting a massage made me feel relaxed from the core. The meals were healthy and delicious. It’s close to Tokyo, making it the perfect place for some personal relaxation time. Next time, I’d love to book a Multiple Night Stay!

This was our second overnight trip with our dog, and our first time staying at an Accommodation with a dog run. The goal of this trip was to find a way to travel without putting any strain on our dog, and I feel we found one answer here. It was a very satisfying experience. Our dog tends to hold in pee and poop when we travel, but here, being able to touch the pleasant grass at all times helped him relieve himself as he normally does at home. He’s also a timid dog who tends to keep his distance from strangers and other dogs, but the calm nature of the owner and Rani-chan and the others really helped him relax. In addition to how well maintained the lawn felt, we could sense thoughtful consideration for dogs in many details—such as the sliding entrance door, ramps, cute bowls, and even a night-time dog run. For us humans as well, the Room was just the right size, and we found everything very comfortable—the service during meals (we really appreciated being able to use the dining area), and how dishes were served quietly and considerately. One very small suggestion: it might be nice if there were a hook near the entrance for locking up keys. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I stayed here while sightseeing around Mt. Hakkoda and Lake Towada. Dinner offered plenty of local specialties, such as senbei-jiru soup and grilled Aomori beef. The view of the Hakkoda mountain range from the window is also wonderful. The Facility feels a bit dated, but I appreciated the staff’s friendly check-ins, could relax in the large public bath, and everything was well cleaned—overall a very good Accommodation. The only downside was that the Room felt dry; it would be even better with a humidifier. I go to bed early so it wasn’t an issue for me, but if you want to drink in your Room late, note that the shop is open only until 10:00 PM and there are no convenience stores nearby, so it’s best to buy what you need in advance. I also learned there’s a ski resort right in front, so I’d like to come back for skiing next time.

Aoki Ryokan is a charming blend of Western and Japanese styles, with its blue roof and distinctive design—an Accommodation that gave me a great feeling even before I stepped inside. Fresh flowers were casually arranged throughout, the floors were spotless, and everything was impeccably clean. Perhaps because it is an old Ryokan, the atmosphere felt wonderfully balanced and calm. I usually suffer from insomnia when staying away from home, but here I felt completely at ease and slept very deeply—something that surprised even me. I also enjoyed listening to the proprietress’s stories (including one about Kunio Inatani, a pioneer of skiing in Japan) and savoring meals filled with mountain vegetables. It was truly relaxing both physically and mentally. As this is a historic Ryokan, old tools once used are also displayed; I was especially struck by the large saw used to cut ice from Lake Onuma, which made me imagine how demanding that work must have been at the time. This was my first stay, and not only was the Onsen excellent, but the meals were far better than I expected—I was truly impressed. The carp sashimi seemed to be a specialty, and it had no strong taste at all; it paired perfectly with vinegared miso and was delicious. Every dish went wonderfully with sake, and I also enjoyed comparing different types of sake. By the time the sukiyaki arrived at the end I was already full, but the beef was so good I somehow still had room for it. This has become a favorite Accommodation that I’d love to visit again.

This was my second stay, and once again I was very satisfied with both the generous portions and the delicious food. There were so many kinds of salad at dinner, both in variety and quantity—even the owner said he wasn’t sure how many there were. The salad alone can fill you up, but the bread was also excellent, and the hamburger steak was wonderfully meaty—very satisfying. The Onsen is a private bath. It’s close to the source spring, with a strong sulfur smell, and iron tends to oxidize. The temperature is just right, so you can soak slowly and relax. That said, the Facility is a bit old (the owner even joked it’s like a haunted house...), so it depends on whether it feels worth it for the price. For the Eco Plan, be sure to prepare properly yourself—bring changes of clothes, trash bags, etc. Once you get used to it, you won’t mind how old things are; it actually feels quite comfortable. We’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

Last time, when I called to make last-minute changes, the staff were extremely polite and kind. They responded quickly as well, which was very helpful. This is my second stay, and the Room is always very clean, with everything I need provided—clear and very convenient. The surrounding nature is wonderful too, and I always have a pleasant stay here. I think it’s especially great for longer stays.

The hot spring water quality was excellent, and since bathing is limited to up to five guests at a time, we were able to soak and relax at our own pace. The soothing sound of the river was very calming, and we could unwind while feeling close to nature.

We made a Reservation because the Room has a reclining bath. Our plan for the day was to soak in it at night while looking up at the sky, but since it rained, we thought we would just relax and listen to the sound of the rain. However, there were so many insects that we gave up on using it at night. The Ryokan staff said it was an unusually heavy day for insects as well. We took it positively as proof of how rich the nature is, and enjoyed the reclining bath slowly after sunrise instead. It was truly surrounded by nature, and the bath felt wonderful. As for dinner, my husband and I are not good with river fish, so we ended up leaving some behind—sorry about that. The quantity and flavor were more than enough; it was an excellent meal. Regarding service, I can’t go into details, but there was something where I caused trouble. When I explained this to the front desk staff, they instead apologized for any inconvenience to us. I’m not comfortable with overly close service, but their sense of distance was just right, and we had a very pleasant day. We would like to visit again in winter.

This was my first time visiting Yoshino. The cherry blossoms had not yet started to bloom, but we were shown to a Room with a wonderful view of the Ryokan’s courtyard. I can imagine how spectacular it must be when the blossoms are in full bloom. The meals (dinner and breakfast) were very delicious. The Onsen was just right, and I could enjoy it as many times as I liked without feeling unwell from the hot water.

Following our stay last November, we stayed again in the detached Room with my spouse and our dogs. It was comfortable and very relaxing. Both dinner and breakfast featured a variety of delicious dishes made with Awaji Island ingredients, and we were completely satisfied. The sunrise over the beach right in front of us was beautiful, and the clear air felt wonderful—we left feeling refreshed and energized. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I made a Reservation for one night with breakfast included. Unfortunately, the room was on the mountain side and did not have an ocean view, but breakfast was wonderful while dining with a view of the sea. I was also able to relax in the large public bath while looking out over the ocean. Even if you come empty-handed, you can borrow a fishing rod and enjoy fishing. If you want to buy bait, you would normally need to go to a nearby tackle shop, but it was already closed, so the Hotel staff kindly prepared bait for us and we were able to enjoy fishing the next morning.
