I was drawn in by the Hotel photos on Yahoo! Travel. The Room was very spacious, with an open and clean feel, and I was able to relax comfortably. The open-air bath was a good size, the sauna was clean, and I personally found the cold plunge temperature very pleasant. The meals were also delicious. I would love to stay again.

I stayed here for hiking in the Yatsugatake Mountains. The location was great, and the price was reasonable. The bed was spacious, which I really appreciated. I was also grateful that they kindly froze my ice packs for me. I’d like to stay here again.

First of all, we truly felt the hospitality of the proprietress and the staff. We were convinced they genuinely think, “Thank you for coming,” from the bottom of their hearts. The Onsen is, of course, outstanding. Gazing at the rocky surface overflowing with natural hot spring water, you can feel an immense sense of history. The meals were also absolutely wonderful. We were completely satisfied with both the taste and the portions. Just when we thought it would be a classic kaiseki course, there were creative twists that made it even more enjoyable. The tableware was also exceptionally refined and inspiring. It’s true that features such as the age of the building and facilities, and having only stairs with no elevator, may come down to personal preference depending on your generation, but for us as a couple they were not drawbacks at all. If you’re visiting Kusatsu Onsen, we think this is an Accommodation you should stop by at least once.

The complimentary drinks in the lobby lounge, the Room, the Onsen, the parking service, and access to the shopping mall were all excellent.

We stayed here for a three-generation trip with a 4-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. We planned Amanohashidate on the first day and Kinosaki Marine World on the second. Originally, we had planned to visit Marine World on day one and stay near it at an Accommodation without meals, but we changed our schedule to spend more time at Marine World and switched to a Plan with meals, so we chose this Facility.\nAfter check-in, we spent time in the pool until dinner. The pool was just the right size for the kids, and they had plenty of fun going back and forth between areas about 40 cm deep and about 100 cm deep.\nDinner felt a little light in portion size for an adult man. Breakfast was satisfying, with refills of rice available.\nThe building is not new, but it was well cleaned and felt very tidy overall. It was also nice that you can choose your yukata after check-in.

Free Shuttle Service is available from Kawaguchiko Station. (Pickup requires a Reservation in advance; drop-off can be reserved at check-in.) Both the exterior and interior show their age, but the Room and other areas are well cleaned and kept tidy. The sink felt a bit dated. The Room key was delightfully nostalgic (laughs). I didn’t use the outdoor bath, so I can’t comment on it, but the Room I stayed in had a shower only. It seemed newly renovated and was very clean. (The provided shampoos include both DHC and Ichikami!) Lotion, emulsion, and makeup remover were POLA amenities. I ordered both dinner and breakfast; the portions were generous and everything was delicious! I really appreciated that it wasn’t buffet-style. Hot dishes were served hot. There is a laundry area; detergent costs 100 yen, but the drum washing machines are free to use! (There are two machines.) The staff’s service was excellent! So it felt more like a Ryokan than a Hotel. Thank you very much for your hospitality during my stay!

From check-in until our car left the Ryokan, the staff naturally came outside to welcome and see us off. I think there are very few Ryokan or Hotels that do this. The preparation of the futon bedding and in-Room dining was pleasant, and it made for a wonderful stay. Every dish was delicious, and the portions were very satisfying. If I had one request, I would be happy if there were a bit more local vegetables—especially for guests in their 50s like us. This may be a matter of preference, but I felt the miso soup would have been even better if it were served a little hotter. Similarly, I would have preferred the water in the large public bath to be slightly hotter. What impressed me most was how thoroughly everything was cleaned. Even at expensive Hotels or Ryokan, you often notice dust in hidden areas or peeling wallpaper and small flaws here and there, but everything visible was very clean. Precisely because it isn’t brand-new, it felt especially comfortable. It was my first stay here, but I feel like I got great value. My only concern is that many of the staff seemed to be around my age or a bit older, so I hope this Ryokan will continue for many years and be passed on to the next generation so guests can keep enjoying it. It was excellent. The meals were delicious. The Onsen was free-flowing from the source, and the water temperature was just right.

While looking for Kurokawa Onsen, I came across Yamazaki Ryokan. I stayed there during my visit, and it was an even more wonderful Accommodation than I had imagined. I would definitely like to stay again! - The Shuttle Service to and from the Kurokawa bus stop was available, which I really appreciated. - The building itself was very clean and well maintained, and housekeeping was thorough. It felt reassuring—like coming back to my family home—and I was able to relax in comfort. - All of the staff welcomed us with smiles at all times, and their service was truly outstanding. The warm, homey atmosphere throughout made it very pleasant. - During my stay, I could enjoy the Onsen anytime as much as I wanted, at whatever time suited me. It really helped soothe away my fatigue afterward. - Dinner was generous in portion size, each dish showed thoughtful creativity, and everything was genuinely delicious. - Breakfast also featured many carefully prepared dishes, and I was very satisfied. Overall, I could truly feel the staff’s hospitality throughout my stay and enjoyed a wonderfully luxurious time. If I have the chance to visit again, I would absolutely like to stay here.

Wearing a hat in the misty drizzle, I will never forget being able to fully enjoy the beautiful mountain stream and its free-flowing Onsen straight from the source. The abundant volume of hot water, like a geyser, was truly the height of luxury and made for an exceptional holiday. However, it was disappointing that some young people got heavily drunk in the river bath late at night and were shouting loudly, but when I reported it you responded immediately, which I appreciated. I was deeply impressed by your dedication to maintaining order at this traditional Ryokan even at the expense of sleep. I understand there are limits to judging guests in advance, but I feel it would be better to provide thorough reminders beforehand. Sorry for my blunt suggestion. I know it must be difficult with so many different kinds of guests. Still, I thought that filtering out preventable trouble as much as possible would also make things easier for your staff. After all, I want to enjoy this beautiful stream-side hot spring source in peace—and that tranquility is what makes the wonderful cuisine and Room truly shine.

This was my second stay, and the breakfast and dinner were excellent, with attentive staff as well. Another highlight is having dinner served in your Room. There seem to be many repeat guests, and the large number of female guests may be proof of how good the food is. The Onsen is also wonderful, making it easy to unwind and relax—so I can see myself becoming a repeat guest. As an aside, access by car is convenient, but if you are traveling by train, getting to Yubiso Station is not very convenient, so it’s best to check in advance.

I stayed on a windy day. Although I lit the fire in the outdoor fire pit, sparks were flying everywhere due to the wind, so I quickly put it out. The strong wind made it feel very cold, and I couldn't stay outside for long to tend to the fire, which was a bit disappointing. For the barbecue grill, we only grilled bread and sausages for breakfast. (When there was no sunlight, even this grilling task felt too cold as standing outside at night with the wind hitting my body was unbearable.) The sauna had already been preheated upon our arrival, so we could relax and use it right away—thank you! After enjoying the sauna, we also used the bath. The spacious bathroom and bathtub were very comfortable. The provided warm jacket-like garment kept us cozy—it was great! Additionally, we loved the indoor fireplace here. It’s surrounded by bricks with a wide opening. Watching the flames leisurely turned out to be more enjoyable than expected; in fact, it satisfied us more than using an outdoor fire pit. Due to our misunderstanding during research beforehand, we thought check-in would be contactless and arrived late without realizing that staff were waiting at the entrance for us—we panicked upon arrival when we realized this mistake. We sincerely apologize for that incident. In summer stays without fireplaces or stoves available elsewhere before this trip where accommodations were entirely contactless led us astray into assuming similar arrangements here too—but facilities like stoves/fireplaces/saunas often require initial face-to-face explanations regarding safety measures which indeed proved helpful during our first visit here! While subsequent visits might allow non-contact check-ins if feasible—it’s understandable either way depending on preferences. Regarding other aspects: unfortunately one ceiling-mounted BOSE speaker wasn’t functional despite inquiries via chat support; however alternative Bluetooth speakers indoors sufficed instead though slightly disappointing initially especially since someone accompanying me wanted testing them specifically but overall manageable workaround existed nonetheless thankfully! Lastly nearby surroundings exploration revealed missed opportunity discovering sausage vending machine shop selling unique spiral-shaped pork products located mere moments away driving distance-wise regrettably overlooked amidst rushed schedule entering accommodation earlier yet noted firmly future revisit plans ensuring purchase next time around certainly happening surely anticipated eagerly forward-looking ahead optimistically excitedly planning accordingly prepared better informed now aware previously unknown detail learned valuable insight gained appreciated thoroughly enjoyed I stayed here the night before because I wanted to see the Kaiwo Maru under full sail. At check-in, I unexpectedly ran into a child on the stairs! And again when heading out for dinner, right in front of the bath area! My wife and I laughed and wondered if it was a “zashiki-warashi,” and it gave us a warm, cozy feeling. The food was delicious, and we were very satisfied. As for the Kaiwo Maru under full sail mentioned in the title, perhaps because the weather was bad in the morning, it wasn’t fully set—only about half of the sails were raised. It was disappointing, but we decided we’ll check another full-sail day and come again. When we do, we’d love to stay here again.

We were very satisfied last time, so we stayed again with three generations of our family. The meals were delicious, the renovated Room was clean with a great view, and we were able to relax in the Onsen and feel refreshed. All the staff were kind, and we also enjoyed bowling.

I had an issue at check-in and asked for advice. At first, I was told it might be difficult, but after listening carefully, they kindly accommodated my request. I’m truly very grateful. All the staff were pleasant and welcoming. However, perhaps because I’m not used to course dinners, there were a few items in the dinner course that didn’t suit my taste.

We stayed here during the Obon holiday. Check-in was from 15:00, but we arrived around 13:00. When we asked to check in early, they kindly agreed without hesitation. After checking in, we told the Ryokan staff that we were heading out to sightsee around Yumoto Station, and they offered to take us from the Ryokan to Yumoto Station with a free Shuttle Service—much appreciated! The Room size, Facility features, and amenities were all excellent. We used the bath in our Room twice (morning and night), and also enjoyed both the large public bath and a private bath—four baths in total. The meals were outstanding in both quantity and quality. From the front desk staff to everyone we passed in the hallways, their warm smiles made our stay truly comfortable. A calm, adults-only atmosphere—classic Ryokan style with a luxurious touch. We will definitely stay again when we visit Hakone.

Thank you for so many wonderful moments. Thanks to the smiles and hospitality of all the staff, we were able to spend an unforgettable time during our stay. As a dual-income couple, it’s been hard for us to coordinate time off, but at 54 we finally made our trip to Hokkaido happen. We will definitely visit again. Would spring or autumn be nice as well? It was truly an exceptional experience—wonderful time, atmosphere, and cuisine.

Buffet-style dining is common at Hotels, but I was amazed that this buffet also came with generous servings of assorted seafood. Everything was delicious, and I ended up eating too much. There was also a great variety of desserts, which made it even more enjoyable. That day, I went to the Tulip Festival in Yubetsu Town—after seeing the beautiful flowers, breathing in the fresh air, and enjoying a wonderful meal, it became a truly memorable day.

We were very satisfied with everything—the staff’s service, the atmosphere of the Accommodation, and the meals. We had an unexpected issue on our side, but they responded kindly and supportively, and we are truly grateful.
