Hidden Retreat Shirakawa Gensen Sanso Takefue is set on an expansive 5,000-tsubo property, featuring only 12 private villas and a spa building, along with 30 natural hot spring baths flowing directly from our own sources. All guest rooms are designed in a modern Japanese style and include an irori (traditional sunken hearth), tatami room, and indoor bath. Eight of the villas also offer open-air baths over 5 meters in size, blending beautifully with the surrounding nature. Skilled in traditional ink-line marking, Heikichi was known locally as “Sumiya no Hei-san” (“Hei from the ink shop”). From this nickname came the house name Tanpei, later renamed “Tanpei,” and it has since been operated as the oldest Accommodation in Tango Town to this day. The spirit of hospitality of “Sumiya no Hei-san” has been passed down through six generations and continues today.

Arima Onsen, one of Japan's oldest hot spring resorts and counted among the three most famous onsen in Japan. During the Meiji era, when Kobe opened its port to foreign trade, many foreigners visited Arima Onsen. They also visited the renowned autumn foliage spot "Kiyomizu-dera," which later became a foreigner-exclusive hotel called "Kiyomizu Hotel." The lush green grounds of "Arima Sanso Goshobessho" still retain the sacred atmosphere of that time. Goshobessho was established by Shirobei Kanai XV, the current head of "Tosen Goshobo," Arima Onsen's oldest accommodation. All 10 suite rooms at Goshobessho are detached and feature private onsen baths and low-temperature saunas known as "Thermal Rooms." One of these suites even includes the world's first treehouse-style open-air bath.

A long-established Property located on the slopes of Mount Eboshi, one of the five peaks of Mount Aso, preserving the Jigoku Onsen which first opened in 1803. Stepping into the main building, which is over 100 years old and has been renovated after the Kumamoto Earthquake, feels like entering a different world, as if traveling back in time. The Onsen features three different sources, offering 11 baths across four locations, each with unique water qualities and atmospheres. Guests can enjoy the "Suzume no Yu," a "miraculous bath" rich in sulfur content with water bubbling up from the ground, as well as the highly acidic "Moto no Yu" and "Tamago no Yu," choosing baths based on their benefits and purposes. For dinner, a variety of courses are available, including seasonal hot pots, irori hearth dishes, and Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine.
