The round-trip Shuttle Service was available, which we really appreciated. It’s in a quiet location, so we were able to relax. All the staff we met were polite and provided excellent service. As others have mentioned, the meals were the best we’ve had among all Kyoritsu Group properties we’ve visited. Since spiny lobster was unavailable due to the closed season, abalone sashimi was served instead—everything tasted great, and the portion was surprisingly generous. One small concern: right after check-in, at the open-air area of the rock-bath public bath (toward the back), there were quite large dead insects (beetles and moths). Given the natural surroundings it may be unavoidable, but I’d appreciate it if that area could also be checked more carefully.

Thank you for accommodating our last-minute Reservation.\nAlthough the Room is a separate building with a thatched roof, it is not an old traditional house; the interior has the latest facilities, so we were able to stay as comfortably as we would at a city Hotel.\nFrom the Room, we could see the thatched roofs of other rooms, and it felt like we had traveled back in time to another world.\nWe used the spacious open-air bath in our Room; the hot spring water was slightly cloudy with mineral deposits floating on top, and it was wonderful.\nThe large public bath is also right by the river, offering an open, airy feel and an excellent location.\nHighly recommended Accommodation.

My one-year-old son and I stayed for three nights. The staff were very kind—thank you so much for bringing a chair at breakfast and clearing our tray. We had a wonderful stay. When my son fell, you promptly brought ice and a bandage. There is also a large public bath on the first floor, and the Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, so we slept well. We would love to stay again.

From the small amenities to the staff who warmly enhance the service throughout the Hotel, everything reflected thoughtful attention and a relaxing sense of hospitality. This Accommodation, standing by Lake Matsubara as a continuation of a previously built Hotel, is one of my favorite places I have ever stayed. Thank you very much.

This was my first trip to Hiroshima, and I stayed here. The Room was a traditional Japanese-style room, and some parts of the floor creaked, but it was very clean and I had a comfortable stay. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The clam miso soup at breakfast was especially good, and since each table gets a full pot, I enjoyed several refills. Having that miso soup after visiting Itsukushima Shrine in the morning was absolutely amazing! The luggage storage service was also very helpful for sightseeing on Miyajima, as they even came to the pier to pick it up. Thanks to that, it became a wonderful trip to remember. I would definitely like to stay again.

This was our first return visit since our son, now 19, stayed here when he was 2. The hospitality and attentive management were just as outstanding as ever. New thoughtful services have been added since then, such as the option to switch breakfast to lunch and early check-out, and our whole family of four—including our 12-year-old daughter—enjoyed every moment. The cleanliness around the pool and the beauty of the sea are clearly thanks to everyone’s daily care. It is truly a wonderful Hotel.

I was extremely satisfied with all the Facilities in the property. The all-inclusive plan and the amenities bar were both excellent. The meals were delicious, and they were served at just the right timing. I truly felt genuine hospitality from all the staff, and it was incredibly comfortable! I will definitely be back again.

I stayed one night in the Main Building 8-tatami + 6-tatami Room. The charming covered corridor and the surrounding gardens were wonderful. I imagine it offers a different atmosphere with each season. Various hanging lanterns are lit along the corridor, making it even more atmospheric in the morning and evening. The lighting in the lobby, library, and Room was also enjoyable in its own way. Each of the three large public baths had a distinct character—the marble bath with stained glass, and the open-air bath with greenery all around. One downside is that, due to the Onsen minerals, the floors can be slippery. As this is an Onsen Ryokan, it was relaxing to spend time inside wearing yukata. All staff were kind and had lovely smiles. It was also fun to see that outfits differed depending on who assisted us—and sometimes even between morning and evening for the same person. Because of the building layout—Rooms connected like separate annexes via covered corridors—some areas inevitably feel almost outdoors. If you dislike insects or mosquitoes, you may want to take precautions. The meals were not overly elaborate, but seafood and other dishes were prepared deliciously, and I was satisfied with the carefully selected tableware as well. For the price, this Accommodation offers a truly luxurious escape from everyday life—I highly recommend it.

I stayed for one night during the Obon holiday period, and it was a truly wonderful stay. With only 10 Rooms, the Accommodation was very quiet and private, and I hardly ran into other guests during my stay. The Room was spacious and spotless, and the open-air bath in the Room was very relaxing, allowing me to unwind at a leisurely pace. The food was also excellent, and I was extremely satisfied.

This time, we visited Lake Kawaguchi and Hakone for the first time, looking forward to seeing Mt. Fuji as part of my wife’s birthday trip. Although it was too cloudy to see the Mt. Fuji we had hoped for, we stayed at Setsugetsuka Bettei Suiun in Hakone and were able to fully enjoy the area. Our Room was a Standard Fourth, and it was very practical and well maintained with thorough cleaning, so we had a comfortable stay. The Onsen was at just the right temperature for me and left me feeling refreshed from the core, and it was also great to be able to use L’OCCITANE shampoo. For dinner, being able to choose the main dish and rice during the meal felt like a thoughtful service that let us decide based on our appetite. Breakfast offered such an abundant variety that we were so full we couldn’t even eat lunch afterward. The after-bath lounge area, along with complimentary drinks and snacks on each floor, was also a welcome service whenever we felt a little hungry. The staff’s hospitality was polite and easy to understand, which left a strong impression on us as well. After checkout we went to Gora Park, and at that time a parking staff member kindly advised us that taking the mountain railway one stop would allow us to walk downhill from top to bottom more easily—very helpful advice for an older couple like us. We hope to come back soon for our “I want to see Mt. Fuji with my own eyes!” revenge trip, and when we do, we would love to stay with you again.

We were able to relax in a quiet setting surrounded by nature. The spacious open-air bath attached to the Room was very comfortable, and we could unwind in the Onsen water. The amenities (especially ReFa) were excellent. We also enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in the Room at a leisurely pace with our family.

Very convenient, right in front of Sakurai Station. We stayed here to visit Hasedera Temple and Abe Monju-in on our way back from Osaka. We also planned to go to Horyu-ji afterward, so we used Sakurai Station, which is served by both Kintetsu and JR. The Room was more spacious than expected and very practical. The large public bath was also very clean. If I had one request, I would have liked mineral water in the Room.

The facilities were kept very clean, and the staff were kind and attentive, so we had a wonderful stay. Just as we had heard, the hot spring water quality was excellent, and the open-air bath was fantastic. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

Our first trip as a couple in a long time. The service was excellent, and we were very satisfied. The bath was wonderful. The shampoo and conditioner were truly great—I’d love to know where they’re sold. If we have another chance to travel, we’d like to stay here again. The only disappointment was that the breakfast didn’t look very appetizing.

This was my first stay, and the Hotel was wonderful. The food was delicious. Both the Room and the Onsen were great. All of the Hotel staff were very kind. After enjoying the Onsen, I tried an ice cream made by a local cake shop and sold at the souvenir shop—it was incredibly tasty. I’ll definitely be back again next year.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. There was only one reason I came to Shirahama: To stay at Kuroshio Sou. When people think of Shirahama, many picture the sea and resorts. But what I found here was Wakayama itself. What moved me most at this Accommodation was not only how outstanding the food was. It was Head Chef Etani’s exceptional skill, and his deep respect for the producers who support every single dish. Fishermen. Farmers. Brewers. Roasters. And the artisans who continue to protect Japan’s fermentation culture. The moment I saw the map of producers introduced alongside the meal, I understood what this Accommodation truly values. Through the cuisine, you encounter not only ingredients, but also the people behind them and Wakayama’s climate and character. I was especially impressed by how delicious the soy sauce and Kinzanji miso were at dinner. When I asked about them, I learned they were from Horigawaya Nomura—a producer with over 350 years of history that still preserves traditional craftsmanship using firewood-heated iron kettles—making both their soy sauce and Kinzanji miso in that way today as well. I had originally planned to visit a different soy sauce brewery, but heavy rain made it impossible. Sometimes, the places you cannot reach end up guiding you to the story you were truly meant to find. For me, Kuroshio Sou was exactly that kind of place. The wonderful Onsen gently healed not only my body, but my mind as well. The quiet comfort throughout the building, Chef Etani’s cuisine, and the hospitality of all staff— together they quietly express this Accommodation’s philosophy in everything it does。 As a former chef from Tasmania, there is something I felt deeply: True hospitality is not just serving delicious food; it is helping guests connect with the people and culture that sustain a place。 I now have one more reason to return to Wakayama。 Thank you again from my heart.

Both the indoor bath and the in-room bath let us fully enjoy free-flowing hot spring water at a relaxed pace while taking in the gentle scent of sulfur, and we felt truly refreshed in both body and mind. The Accommodation had a wonderful atmosphere, and we were able to savor the charm of this long-established Onsen inn to the fullest. Every dish was delicious. In particular, the Yonezawa beef nigiri we had for dinner was so outstanding that we ended up ordering an extra portion. We were also impressed by the kind and attentive service from all the staff. The meat served with our meal was so incredibly good that when we asked for a recommended local butcher shop, they kindly gave us detailed information—thanks to them, we were able to stop by on our way home and buy some as souvenirs!

This was our second stay. Both dinner and breakfast used local ingredients, and we enjoyed them very much. When staying in Yufuin, this is the Accommodation my family always requests. The staff were courteous, our privacy was well maintained, and we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. This Room also had both an indoor bath and an outdoor bath, so whenever we had free time, we soaked in the tub. We’re looking forward to our next visit.

It was a truly relaxing experience. The view from the room was spectacular. The bath was an open-air bath surrounded by the forest, offering a heavenly experience. You can enjoy different types of baths with unique atmospheres. At night, you can marvel at the star-filled sky. Meals featured an abundance of local ingredients from the prefecture, and drinks were reasonably priced. I had an amazing time and would love to visit this accommodation again. Iwate is vast, and there are still so many places I want to explore!

It was a simple, lovely, spacious Room. My child was very happy as well. Just one thing: the walls were thin, and the guests in the next Room were noisy until late at night, so we couldn’t sleep. I suppose that may be a downside of being able to accommodate many people. We would appreciate it if you could consider some soundproofing measures. Overall, our stay was excellent, and the staff were very considerate, so we would like to stay again.
