The main building of Nanten-en was originally located in Sakai Ohama as "Shioyu Kazokuyu" and was relocated in its entirety to Amami, a place known for its natural Onsen, in 1935. The predecessor, "Shioyu Kazokuyu," was designed by Kingo Tatsuno, a renowned architect of the Meiji and Taisho eras who contributed to many iconic modern architectural works. Each Room in our Property is equipped with a mini kitchen. An original map of the nearby area is provided in your Room, allowing you to shop for ingredients at local supermarkets or roadside stations and enjoy cooking. Additionally, BBQ equipment is available for rent (for a fee), making it popular to enjoy a BBQ in the garden! In summer, insect collecting and bird watching are also recommended. To help you enjoy the seasons, the garden and interiors transform for Halloween in October and Christmas in December, with original illuminations to enjoy at night.
