Located at the western edge of "Nara Park," one of Japan's most renowned scenic spots surrounded by World Heritage sites such as Kasuga Taisha Shrine, Kofuku-ji Temple, and Todai-ji Temple, the Hotel stands in a place known worldwide as the birthplace of Japanese culture. The Hotel features 43 guest rooms (23 of which include private Onsen baths or open-air baths) designed with interiors that harmonize with nature, offering a refined atmosphere that reflects the traditions of Nara. The main building of the Hotel, a renovated "Nara Prefectural Governor's Residence" originally built in the Taisho era, houses a restaurant where you can fully experience the terroir and culinary history of Nara, as well as a sushi bar utilizing a traditional storehouse. The history of Ryokan Chōraku-en Yunosuke at Tamatsukuri Onsen is the history of Tamatsukuri Onsen itself. Tamatsukuri Onsen was established in the early Nara period by our ancestor, Hasegawa Toshikata. During the Edo period, the Hasegawa family was entrusted with the management of Tamatsukuri Onsen by the Matsue domain, holding the official title of "Yunosuke." In the first year of the Meiji era, they began operating a ryokan under the name Chōraku-en. For 140 years, they have had the honor of hosting numerous literary figures, dignitaries, and occasionally members of the imperial family.

Private baths with both open-air and indoor options are a highlight. Opened in August 2023, enjoy the renowned "Bijin no Yu" hot spring in three private baths (free of charge) featuring an indoor bath and open-air bath overlooking a garden.
