The room was beautifully renovated, preserving the charm of a traditional old house while adding modern comforts.

This was our second overnight trip with our dog, and our first time staying at an Accommodation with a dog run. The goal of this trip was to find a way to travel without putting any strain on our dog, and I feel we found one answer here. It was a very satisfying experience. Our dog tends to hold in pee and poop when we travel, but here, being able to touch the pleasant grass at all times helped him relieve himself as he normally does at home. He’s also a timid dog who tends to keep his distance from strangers and other dogs, but the calm nature of the owner and Rani-chan and the others really helped him relax. In addition to how well maintained the lawn felt, we could sense thoughtful consideration for dogs in many details—such as the sliding entrance door, ramps, cute bowls, and even a night-time dog run. For us humans as well, the Room was just the right size, and we found everything very comfortable—the service during meals (we really appreciated being able to use the dining area), and how dishes were served quietly and considerately. One very small suggestion: it might be nice if there were a hook near the entrance for locking up keys. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I was able to get away from everyday life and truly enjoy my stay. The duck hot pot at dinner had a comforting broth, the rice was delicious, and the local sake Hanatomoe was easy to drink and paired perfectly with the meal. And the water is wonderful—I believe you mentioned that you use spring water from underground. We enjoyed so many blessings from the mountains and river and finished everything. Thank you for the feast. The Dorogawa Onsen bath was also soothing and relaxing. Thank you for everyone’s warm hospitality and thoughtful care.

I was able to spend a luxurious time enjoying the view of the Kamo River from the stylish living room. The underfloor heating was also included, making it very comfortable. I also appreciated being able to adjust the lighting. At night, I dimmed the lights for a more relaxing atmosphere. The ambiance of the Japanese-Western style bedroom was nice, and I slept soundly. The owner kindly explained everything and had a wonderful personality. This time I stayed for only one night, but next time I would love to stay for a Multiple Night Stay!

This was my second stay. It was a relaxing visit this time as well.

The Room is spacious. The twin beds are also roomy. It’s on the Kamogawa River side and close to the station. There’s also a 24-hour supermarket nearby. Recommended.\nHowever, there are both non-smoking and smoking rooms on the same floor, so the cigarette smell is strong when you get off the elevator. It can drift into the Room a bit as well, so it may be tough for guests who dislike smoke.

Because my mother has trouble with her legs and couldn’t climb the stairs, they kindly guided us in from the second floor. The very kind and wonderful proprietress soothed our travel fatigue. When we entered the Room, we were welcomed with homemade candied chestnut sweets and tea. The chestnuts were so delicious I wanted to buy some to take home. In a triple Room surrounded by lovely small items and chests of drawers, the bath was free-flowing natural hot spring water straight from the source. Our skin became silky smooth and our bodies stayed warm. We asked at short notice a few days in advance for dinner, and they prepared it for us. With sashimi, mountain vegetables, simmered sea bream head, delicious rice, miso soup, and more, we were completely full and very satisfied. Of course breakfast was also delicious just as the Reviews said—mountain vegetables, salmon, and more! Just as everyone’s Reviews said, it is truly a wonderful Accommodation, and we were able to spend an unforgettable holiday. It’s an Accommodation I want to visit again and again. I stayed here for one night on the second night of my five-night solo trip to Kusatsu Onsen from Fukuoka, and I’m glad I was able to get a Reservation. I had heard that Kusatsu Onsen has various types of spring water, so I chose this Ryokan because it has a great reputation for its water quality and allows solo guests to enjoy the Onsen. Just as expected, the Onsen was truly wonderful, and I enjoyed soaking many times. I also visited several public baths—hot, tingling springs like Jizo-no-Yu felt great—but Gokurakukan’s comfortably warm Onsen was perfect for a long soak. It’s also recommended for those who don’t like very hot water. Towels were available in the Room as well as in the changing area by the bath, which was very convenient. Another nice point was being able to go to the Onsen without passing through the front desk, making it easy even early in the morning. The Room was clean, and the toilet was exceptionally spotless. I was happy to find Matsumura manju served with tea snacks. The free breakfast was delicious—the bread was wonderfully chewy. I also had dinner at the restaurant on the second floor; both the curry doria and carrot salad were excellent. At check-out, the owner and staff kindly gave me detailed sightseeing tips around Kusatsu. Thanks to them, I learned about Jigokudani Monkey Park in Nagano Prefecture and went there using car sharing. After waiting about 30 minutes, I was lucky enough to see monkeys soaking in an Onsen—it was amazing. The next day, I used car sharing again and enjoyed Ikaho’s hot spring buns and Mizusawa udon as well. It became a truly memorable solo trip. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and next time I’d love to stay with my family—thank you very much.

We stayed with our family and a friend's family, a total of 8 people. Upon arriving at the accommodation after walking around and sweating in the summer heat, we were delighted to find that the room was already cooled by air conditioning and there were chilled bottled waters in the refrigerator—a thoughtful gesture for a hot summer day. Despite its age, the accommodation was very clean, including the water facilities. The amenities provided were sufficient, and even the shampoo and conditioner were from a well-known brand sold at pharmacies, so we didn’t experience any hair issues often encountered during trips. There are several restaurants nearby where we had dinner outside. For breakfast, we bought pastries from a local bakery and enjoyed them with coffee provided in the room—simply perfect! The proximity to nearby shops and restaurants was also convenient. The children were highly satisfied as well, making it an overall flawless stay. We made our reservation just five days before our stay but felt like it was an excellent choice. Thank you very much!

Although we arrived late, we had informed them in advance, and they kindly accepted our Reservation. Also, for a whole-house rental Accommodation, it was rare to have breakfast included: the rice cooker was set so the rice would be ready at 6:00 a.m., and miso soup was prepared in a thermos in the refrigerator so it could be enjoyed after warming—an excellent Japanese breakfast. The Facility’s interior was stylish and reflected the owner’s great sense of design, making our stay very comfortable. Since we were traveling with children, we did not use the kura bed and instead laid futons in the same Room; however, it would have been even better if the futon set were a bit softer. The location is also great—just a short walk away on a quiet side street off the main road of the Bikan Historical Quarter—so you can relax peacefully at night. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kurashiki.

We stayed for one night and two days as a family of four. The dinner course, featuring crab and Tajima beef, exceeded our expectations with its luxurious offerings, and the finishing rice porridge was exceptional. Breakfast also offered a wide variety of dishes, leaving nothing to be desired. We visited all six Onsen spots, but we found the indoor bath here to be the best. The option to choose your favorite yukata was a nice touch, making it stand out from the standard ones provided by other Ryokan. The service was excellent, allowing us to enjoy a very pleasant stay. Coming from Hiroshima, we hope to visit again someday!

It was a wonderful Accommodation. The staff were especially kind, and provided attentive guidance and thoughtful care. The Room was more spacious and comfortable than we expected. I think six friends or family members can stay without any issues. We stayed with six adults and two toddlers. On the first floor, there is also a delicious pastry shop, and I highly recommend the ginger ale drink. It’s close to the Bikan Historical Quarter, making it convenient for sightseeing walks. It was quiet at night, so we had a very comfortable stay. If we visit Kurashiki again, we will make a Reservation. Thank you!

Even though it was affordable, it was comfortable, with great Facilities and amenities. The food was delicious, and everyone was so kind—it was truly wonderful. I absolutely had to check in about 30 minutes early, but when I explained the situation, they gladly accommodated me, which helped a lot. Also, right after check-in I went to a neighboring prefecture and wasn’t planning to return until late at night, but they were able to accommodate that as well, so I could come back without worry. Because of a chronic condition there are many foods I can’t eat, so I usually give up on Hotel breakfasts—but they carefully asked which seasonings and ingredients were safe for me and prepared a breakfast I could eat with peace of mind. I was so happy, and it was really delicious. This time I went out during dinner hours and couldn’t have dinner here, but if I have the chance to stay again next time, I’d love to try it. Also, since we had a rental car this time, free parking was very appreciated. But it’s also very close to the station, so next time I’d like to come by train and enjoy visiting different Onsen or playing in the river as well. Thank you so much for such a relaxing stay.

Located very close to the tourist attraction Izanagi Shrine, yet in a quiet area. The Room does not have a sea view, but there is a comfortable beach nearby which was great. The first floor features a lovely café, and the lunch was very delicious. I would love to stay here again.

Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. The staff were very kind and friendly, making the stay comfortable. I stayed for work purposes, but I was able to relax, refresh, and was extremely satisfied!

This beautifully renovated traditional house features a calm, relaxing interior finished with solid wood and plaster. In the early morning it felt more than 5°C colder than Tokyo, but there is not only air conditioning but also a kerosene fan heater, and once the house warms up it’s very comfortable. As the renovation was completed recently and cleaning is thorough, everything felt very clean. As described on the website, the kitchen is well equipped—enough to cook most meals—and having basic seasonings provided is rare for an entire-home rental and was extremely helpful. There is no TV, but there is a Bluetooth speaker and a record player, making it a great place to relax with music or read. I brought a small projector and had no trouble projecting onto the wall. Step outside and you can enjoy magnificent views of the Southern Alps; with little traffic, it’s a wonderful area for walks. I arrived by public transportation, and both Yamanashi Kotsu buses and the local community bus stop nearby, so getting around was easy. However, I heard that Yamanashi Kotsu routes will be discontinued at the end of March 2026; relying only on about five community bus services per day may be quite limiting. There’s a convenience store within walking distance, and around Nirasaki Station you’ll find a shopping mall as well as stylish cafés, pizza places, vintage clothing shops, bakeries, bars, and more—I felt this town development could be promoted even more. The owner was very considerate in many ways, which made my stay extremely comfortable. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.
