I stayed at the accommodation to participate in a nearby tennis tournament. There was a plan where you could receive a cake if you checked in by 16:00, but since my match ended late, I couldn't check in by 16:00 and missed out on the cake. Since I had children with me, it would have been nice if we could purchase the cake instead, but that didn’t seem possible, which was a bit disappointing. The breakfast was very delicious, and I was impressed with how well-stocked the amenities were in the large public bath. The room was also cleaner and more comfortable than I had expected. It was fun choosing ice cream with my child while saying "Which one should we get?" However, there were several ice creams listed that we wanted to try but weren’t available for selection. Since children can get their hopes up about these things, it would be great if there could be more consideration regarding this. I’d love to stay here again when visiting the area. Because my mother has trouble with her legs and couldn’t climb the stairs, they kindly guided us in from the second floor. The very kind and wonderful proprietress soothed our travel fatigue. When we entered the Room, we were welcomed with homemade candied chestnut sweets and tea. The chestnuts were so delicious I wanted to buy some to take home. In a triple Room surrounded by lovely small items and chests of drawers, the bath was free-flowing natural hot spring water straight from the source. Our skin became silky smooth and our bodies stayed warm. We asked at short notice a few days in advance for dinner, and they prepared it for us. With sashimi, mountain vegetables, simmered sea bream head, delicious rice, miso soup, and more, we were completely full and very satisfied. Of course breakfast was also delicious just as the Reviews said—mountain vegetables, salmon, and more! Just as everyone’s Reviews said, it is truly a wonderful Accommodation, and we were able to spend an unforgettable holiday. It’s an Accommodation I want to visit again and again. I stayed here for one night on the second night of my five-night solo trip to Kusatsu Onsen from Fukuoka, and I’m glad I was able to get a Reservation. I had heard that Kusatsu Onsen has various types of spring water, so I chose this Ryokan because it has a great reputation for its water quality and allows solo guests to enjoy the Onsen. Just as expected, the Onsen was truly wonderful, and I enjoyed soaking many times. I also visited several public baths—hot, tingling springs like Jizo-no-Yu felt great—but Gokurakukan’s comfortably warm Onsen was perfect for a long soak. It’s also recommended for those who don’t like very hot water. Towels were available in the Room as well as in the changing area by the bath, which was very convenient. Another nice point was being able to go to the Onsen without passing through the front desk, making it easy even early in the morning. The Room was clean, and the toilet was exceptionally spotless. I was happy to find Matsumura manju served with tea snacks. The free breakfast was delicious—the bread was wonderfully chewy. I also had dinner at the restaurant on the second floor; both the curry doria and carrot salad were excellent. At check-out, the owner and staff kindly gave me detailed sightseeing tips around Kusatsu. Thanks to them, I learned about Jigokudani Monkey Park in Nagano Prefecture and went there using car sharing. After waiting about 30 minutes, I was lucky enough to see monkeys soaking in an Onsen—it was amazing. The next day, I used car sharing again and enjoyed Ikaho’s hot spring buns and Mizusawa udon as well. It became a truly memorable solo trip. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and next time I’d love to stay with my family—thank you very much.

We stayed with our family and a friend's family, a total of 8 people. Upon arriving at the accommodation after walking around and sweating in the summer heat, we were delighted to find that the room was already cooled by air conditioning and there were chilled bottled waters in the refrigerator—a thoughtful gesture for a hot summer day. Despite its age, the accommodation was very clean, including the water facilities. The amenities provided were sufficient, and even the shampoo and conditioner were from a well-known brand sold at pharmacies, so we didn’t experience any hair issues often encountered during trips. There are several restaurants nearby where we had dinner outside. For breakfast, we bought pastries from a local bakery and enjoyed them with coffee provided in the room—simply perfect! The proximity to nearby shops and restaurants was also convenient. The children were highly satisfied as well, making it an overall flawless stay. We made our reservation just five days before our stay but felt like it was an excellent choice. Thank you very much!

We stayed for one night and two days as a family of four. The dinner course, featuring crab and Tajima beef, exceeded our expectations with its luxurious offerings, and the finishing rice porridge was exceptional. Breakfast also offered a wide variety of dishes, leaving nothing to be desired. We visited all six Onsen spots, but we found the indoor bath here to be the best. The option to choose your favorite yukata was a nice touch, making it stand out from the standard ones provided by other Ryokan. The service was excellent, allowing us to enjoy a very pleasant stay. Coming from Hiroshima, we hope to visit again someday!

It was a wonderful Accommodation. The staff were especially kind, and provided attentive guidance and thoughtful care. The Room was more spacious and comfortable than we expected. I think six friends or family members can stay without any issues. We stayed with six adults and two toddlers. On the first floor, there is also a delicious pastry shop, and I highly recommend the ginger ale drink. It’s close to the Bikan Historical Quarter, making it convenient for sightseeing walks. It was quiet at night, so we had a very comfortable stay. If we visit Kurashiki again, we will make a Reservation. Thank you!

Located very close to the tourist attraction Izanagi Shrine, yet in a quiet area. The Room does not have a sea view, but there is a comfortable beach nearby which was great. The first floor features a lovely café, and the lunch was very delicious. I would love to stay here again.

Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. The staff were very kind and friendly, making the stay comfortable. I stayed for work purposes, but I was able to relax, refresh, and was extremely satisfied!

This stay became a truly memorable experience. The staff welcomed us with warm smiles, guided us around the Accommodation with great care, and showed thoughtful attention to every detail—service that naturally made us want to return. We felt comfortable throughout our stay. The Onsen was, simply put, outstanding. Our Room had a private open-air bath that we could enjoy all to ourselves. The water temperature was perfect, and from the moment we stepped in, it felt as if all the tension left our body. Soaking slowly while looking out over the beautiful forest was pure bliss, and we enjoyed it many times during our stay. The amenities also had a wonderful fragrance and quickly became a favorite. We chose the sake tasting Plan, and each selection had its own character and was fun to compare. As a sake lover, I was especially happy to be able to order Hiroki Aiyama separately—an exceptionally rare bottle—so finding it on the menu genuinely thrilled me. It paired perfectly with Aizu dishes such as herring marinated with Japanese pepper leaves. Being able to enjoy such precious sake while traveling is a truly luxurious memory, and it felt like something unique to an Accommodation in Aizu. They also lend inflatable rings for the Onsen. At first I thought, “An inflatable ring in an Onsen?” but after trying it, I was honestly amazed by how comfortable it was. Floating effortlessly while soaking lets you relax even more deeply than usual. It made me appreciate both their creativity and their playful desire for guests to fully enjoy the Onsen experience. The inflatable ring left a strong impression—I could soak almost face-down in complete relaxation. The cuisine, Onsen, and service were all excellent; this wasn’t an Accommodation where only one aspect stood out—the entire experience was consistently high quality. Thoughtful care could be felt everywhere, and the whole place overflowed with genuine hospitality. People say travel is defined by where you stay, and this visit truly proved that saying right. From the superb Onsen and heartwarming service to the eye-opening inflatable ring experience, it became a wonderful trip filled with great memories. We would love to visit again in another season—thank you very much.”

Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality. From the warm welcome upon our arrival until we left the Accommodation, our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. The tasteful selection of tea and sweets served on arrival only heightened our anticipation for the meals. Both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared, with each dish carefully crafted, and my wife and I enjoyed them with genuine admiration. The salt served alongside was perfectly balanced and paired wonderfully with both sashimi and rice. As I had mentioned ingredients I do not care for, you kindly adjusted the menu accordingly, allowing me to enjoy everything deliciously. We are truly grateful to the head chef and the attendant for their considerate care. For bathing, we enjoyed the open-air bath attached to our Room as well as the large public bath and two open-air baths (rotating by time). All were at a comfortable temperature with excellent water quality, and we bathed four times during our stay. For us as a couple who travel to enjoy baths and great food, it was pure bliss. One small regret is that while we loved the Onsen manju in our Room, we only learned afterward that if we had ordered in advance the day before, we could have purchased freshly made ones the next day. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

Thank you very much for everything. From the outside, it may be hard to imagine the wonderful space inside this historic building. The Facility has been newly updated, so we were able to stay comfortable even in the heat. We also appreciated having a washer and dryer, which made things much easier after returning home. Thank you as well for treating us to delicious sweets. We also enjoyed the matcha and Kaga roasted green tea—thank you very much. It was close to the station, making shopping and dining very convenient. The sushi restaurant you recommended was also excellent. Thank you for the sightseeing information too. This was our second overnight trip with our dog, and our first time staying at an Accommodation with a dog run. The goal of this trip was to find a way to travel without putting any strain on our dog, and I feel we found one answer here. It was a very satisfying experience. Our dog tends to hold in pee and poop when we travel, but here, being able to touch the pleasant grass at all times helped him relieve himself as he normally does at home. He’s also a timid dog who tends to keep his distance from strangers and other dogs, but the calm nature of the owner and Rani-chan and the others really helped him relax. In addition to how well maintained the lawn felt, we could sense thoughtful consideration for dogs in many details—such as the sliding entrance door, ramps, cute bowls, and even a night-time dog run. For us humans as well, the Room was just the right size, and we found everything very comfortable—the service during meals (we really appreciated being able to use the dining area), and how dishes were served quietly and considerately. One very small suggestion: it might be nice if there were a hook near the entrance for locking up keys. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

It was our first time staying in a cultural heritage property, and it was a valuable experience for our children as well—we were able to enter places we normally wouldn’t, such as the tea room, Noh stage, and storehouse. It also allowed us to take a three-generation trip with our parents, who preferred not to travel far due to physical limitations, and we made wonderful memories.

We were able to spend a relaxing Obon holiday as a family of three. The meals were very delicious, and we also enjoyed taking our time with coffee at The Perch. Since our daughter started working in Osaka, our family has taken a small luxury trip every summer for 2 nights and 3 days somewhere near Osaka. This was our third visit to Arima Onsen, and we were able to truly unwind. The food was especially wonderful, and we look forward to it every time—my husband even said this was the best meal he can remember having here. The Accommodation itself is a charming building that conveys a sense of history, which we really appreciated. We also liked that the bathing area had separate spaces for the bath and the washing area. However, the shower pressure was weak, so we think it would be even better if that could be improved. (Personally, I was disappointed that the open-air bath in our Room was not Onsen water and that the shower water pressure in the Room was weak.) Overall, it was a very memorable stay. Thank you very much for taking care of us for three days.

I previously stayed at the auberge run by Fukuchiyo Shuzo, and when I learned they had another concept Accommodation, I chose this one for my visit. Having the entire building to ourselves was great—we could relax without worrying about staff. The kaiseki dinner was also delicious. The stay included a brewery tour, and the president’s talk was fascinating. As a sake lover, it was a truly valuable experience. Thank you very much. *One small point: there is a gap in the door separating the bathroom and changing area, so water from the shower soaked the changing area. It might help to seal it with rubber or something similar.*
