This was my first stay, and it was simply wonderful. The Accommodation is old, but the amenities and Facility are well equipped. Having a cold-water pitcher in addition to the tea set was especially helpful. Being able to quickly drink cold water after the Onsen felt great. They also offer a free aroma diffuser rental, and I slept very well with the relaxing scent. The Room was more than spacious enough for just my husband and me, and it was spotless and clean. The staff were also very pleasant—nothing to complain about! Because it was during summer vacation season, the breakfast buffet was extremely crowded and a bit tiring, but aside from that everything was excellent, and it became an Accommodation I definitely want to stay at again. After my stay, I accidentally left something behind in the Room. Thank you for your kind help when I called—it arrived safely. I’m sorry for the trouble. Next time, I’d love to return with No Meals Included. Highly recommended. There are so many good points that I can’t write them all here, but I definitely want to visit again—thank you in advance when that time comes.

It’s not in the Onsen town, but it’s within walking distance. The food was delicious, and the bath on the top floor was also great. The Facility was clean, and everything was good right through to the final send-off. It made me want to visit Gero Onsen again.

This was my first stay in Yufuin Onsen. A week before my stay, there had been heavy rain and I was told train services were suspended, but the staff’s phone support left a very positive impression. I chose a detached Accommodation, and the Room was clean and the Onsen was excellent. There was something like insect repellent spray in the Room, so I wondered if there might be a lot of bugs, but it didn’t bother me at all. Both dinner and breakfast were very generous portions and simply delicious. The amount is more than I can finish, so I feel bad leaving food; I would appreciate it if you could offer a smaller-portion Plan as well.

For our summer trip to Shimane Prefecture, we chose Matsudairakaku based on everyone’s Reviews. The spacious, spotless Room connected to the garden was wonderful, and dinner was truly more than we could finish—we looked forward to it every night. They also had a great selection of local sake, and we ended up drinking a bit too much. When sightseeing, they shared recommended routes that only locals would know. On our last day, since we had an early departure, they kindly prepared breakfast earlier for us as well—we apologize for the inconvenience. Everything was perfect, and it made for a fantastic trip to Shimane. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

We chose the Meat Satisfaction Plan, but it was such a feast that we couldn’t finish it—what a shame! Still, everything was delicious. The Onsen was wonderful too; the open-air bath uses natural hot spring water and felt like an infinity bath overlooking the pond. We were also happy to be able to enjoy coffee in the lounge. The Room had a lovely atmosphere, and it was fun watching the koi in the pond from the window. We’ll come again if we have the chance!

This was our first stay here. My husband enjoys searching for Accommodations when we travel, and we found this place through a Review site. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a welcome drink. After that, we enjoyed Japanese-style relaxation in the free private bath, then went from one bath to another—the historic marble bath and the panoramic-view bath. Once we were refreshed, we savored dishes made with plenty of local ingredients, and the pudding dessert was unbelievably delicious. After dinner, there was complimentary service in the first-floor lounge: homemade alcoholic drinks and juices, small desserts, and snacks. You can relax at your own pace while listening to music. Breakfast was just as lavish—freshly cooked Hitomebore rice that was glossy and wonderfully chewy with tasty side dishes. On top of that, the ochazuke made with the Accommodation’s signature dashi is outstanding, so getting a second helping of rice is a must. On departure, they even gave us freshly baked croissants as a gift—truly attentive in every way. We are grateful for the staff’s warm hospitality. This is an Accommodation we would definitely love to visit again.

I am a senior resident of Osaka, and this was my first visit to Tenkawa Village. Thank you for taking such good care of us. From my 30s onward I was constantly away on long business trips, then worked overseas from my late 40s through late 50s. After retiring at 60, I was assigned alone to a domestic affiliate company—15 years living apart from my family in total. During that time, I left all childcare and household responsibilities to my wife. Now that I have reached my second retirement at 65, I wanted—at the very least—to make it up to her. Because she loves nature (gorges, limestone caves, views from high elevations, and more), and because seeing fireflies was her top wish, we chose Nishisei as a Ryokan with delicious cuisine in an area where we could enjoy firefly viewing as well as an Onsen. We stayed one night from July 10 to 11. We arrived a little early for check-in, but you kindly welcomed us right away. While sightseeing, my wife lightly twisted her ankle. When I mentioned it to the female staff member in charge, she immediately brought us a cold compress patch. After dinner, you also drove us to a spot where we could see fireflies. Just as we had heard beforehand, everyone in this area is truly kind—I felt genuine hospitality throughout our stay. The manager told us that it might be hard to know whether we would be able to see any fireflies due to the timing of the season; however, at the riverside spot he guided us to, there were what seemed like well over one hundred flying about—a sight that even surprised him! We were deeply moved by the incredible swarm of fireflies unlike anything we had ever seen before. My wife said that every part of this trip matched her tastes perfectly and that she enjoyed it immensely. Personally as well—the Onsen (a bit hot but wonderfully refreshing afterward), the delicious meals served in our spacious private dining room-style setting, and the dancing fireflies—everything impressed me greatly. Thank you for your hospitality. We stayed here for a live event and were able to relax comfortably in the Japanese-style room. The staff were also very kind. We made a Reservation for two adults and one toddler, but there was only one set of towels, toothbrushes, and yukata provided.

A charming accommodation limited to only three groups per day, offering an exceptional stay with its location and outstanding hospitality, allowing guests to fully enjoy a country-like retreat from check-in to check-out. The twin room features a veranda overlooking a vineyard, with trains running almost parallel to the accommodation at its edge. In the evening, you can witness the slow passage of night trains against the backdrop of a serene countryside sunset. The bathroom is designed with glass walls (ensuring privacy from outside), allowing guests to gaze at the night sky and stars when turning off the lights during nighttime baths. This unique feature, combined with silky-smooth onsen water directly sourced from natural hot springs, invites repeated indulgence throughout your stay—enjoying unlimited access without any interruptions. Additionally, meals include handmade dishes such as Bungo beef and pot-au-feu in perfect portions that are simply delightful. Guests can also savor wine made in-house from grapes grown on-site—a rare treat due to its limited production. Located in Yufuin, one of Japan's most famous onsen destinations, this is truly an extraordinary accommodation experience!

This was my second visit to Kinosaki Onsen. It was my first time staying at this Accommodation, and everything—the Room, the baths, the meals, and the service—was outstanding. I love Onsen and have stayed at many Accommodations, but it’s rare to find one that deserves top marks across the board. It became a wonderful memory. This is an Accommodation I’d love to visit again.

This was my first stay since the renovation. With “Smart Stay,” you can enjoy a variety of services: - Pre check-in (10-second check-in) - Priority Reservation service - In-Room payment - Check-out These thoughtful touches made it easy to relax throughout the stay. After entering the lobby, completing check-in, and leaving my luggage in the Room, I headed straight to the Onsen. Before that, I enjoyed a welcome drink. The tea- and fresh cream-based cocktails were smooth yet still had a distinct tea flavor—truly delicious. With an alkaline pH of 9.6, it’s said to be among the top five in Japan. After soaking once or twice, my skin started to feel silky smooth, as if I’d applied toner. I ended up soaking three times, including a morning bath. Since you may not notice the quality of the spring after just one soak, I recommend going in several times. Next to the bar area, there was also a coffee machine available 24 hours a day. I enjoyed it along with the cold tea provided in the in-room refrigerator. What I love most about this Hotel is the open-air bath where you can soak while listening to the river’s gentle flow. Surrounded by soothing seasonal scenery, I took my time and truly enjoyed the Onsen. It’s a Hotel I’d love to visit again. After check-out, I also enjoyed “Kingdom Onsen” stamp rally. Walking around the hot spring town and stopping for footbaths along the way was great fun.

With our 2- and 4-year-old sons, we often have to be extra careful when traveling, but at this Accommodation we were able to enjoy meals and bathing without worrying about others thanks to the in-Room dining Plan and the private bath. We were told it was a mountain-side Room with no ocean view, but a staff member mentioned that “you may be able to see storks from the window,” and our animal-loving kids happily enjoyed the view from the window. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we were glad as a couple that we could eat at a relaxed pace. All of the staff were kind to our children as well, and we would definitely like to stay here again when we visit Kinosaki!

This trip was with my parents and my son. Since one of my parents has difficulty walking, I chose this Accommodation hoping they could watch the Kamiyamada Fireworks Festival from the Room. We reserved the top-floor Room (5F Executive Floor Suite), convinced we would be able to see the fireworks. When we arrived, the front desk staff guided our car and prepared a wheelchair for my mother. Dinner was included; there was so much that we couldn’t finish it all, but everything was excellent and delicious. The baths were also wonderful, with great-quality water that everyone enjoyed—my son went in four times. As for the fireworks, they were absolutely perfect. We could see the launch site clearly, and it was truly beautiful. The only disappointment was that there were several steps inside the Room. I also thought handrails would have been helpful. Still, with such great food and a perfect fireworks view, I’m glad we stayed in this Room. Thank you to all the staff as well. I’d love to stay again.

We stayed for one night and two days with dinner and breakfast included for four people. The traditional house, delicious meals, and the warm hospitality of the proprietress were very soothing. The building is a bit old, but it made us feel like we were visiting a relative’s home. However, perhaps because some walls are thin, noise from upstairs and downstairs carries through, so it may bother some guests.

From the very first welcome, to the softness of the bath water, to how delicious and generous the meals were—everything was wonderful. The portions may have been a bit too much; I’m sorry I couldn’t finish everything and ended up leaving some. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, which was great. There is also a matchmaking shrine in the mountain behind the property, and it was refreshing to visit in the morning. I would definitely like to come again.

The open-air bath was fully booked, so we could only reserve it once, but they kindly let us in early and allowed us to use it privately for over an hour. The indoor bath was piping hot, and the open-air bath was at just the right temperature—my skin felt wonderfully smooth afterward. We were able to enjoy breakfast at a relaxed pace in a private room. The grilled dried horse mackerel and the wasabi pickles were amazing! The breakfast staff were polite and pleasant, with excellent service. From the Room, we could see the wooded hillside behind the property and blooming flowers; it was a lovely Japanese-style Room with plenty of nostalgic Showa-era charm. Nearby there are convenience stores, sushi restaurants, AEON, and other places for shopping. The scones and pudding at a nearby shop were simple and delicious as well. This has become an Accommodation I’d love to visit again. Thank you very much.

A stylish hotel utilizing a historic building. The lounge offers exceptional financiers and cookies, highly recommended. A wide selection of alcoholic beverages is also available. However, the room specifications are somewhat limited, and while the water facilities are clean, they are minimal. Kinosaki is known for its public Onsen hopping, which I learned later. The best way to enjoy this accommodation might be to explore the local Onsen and sightseeing first, then relax in the lounge afterward.
