The building is old, and the rooms are not very spacious, but the interior is clean and sufficient for a comfortable stay. Guests can use the large public bath at the neighboring Yurari facility. The pool is also available, so bringing swimwear could be a good idea. For dining, famous restaurants like Toyotsune and Ichiriki are located nearby. For Multiple Night Stays, cleaning service is provided every three days; however, towel replacement is available upon request. As a tip, you can access the neighboring public bath in loungewear provided by the Hotel. Since the Hotel slippers are thin, it might be helpful to bring your own from a 100-yen shop. The loungewear is well-made and warm enough even during winter. Parking is available at a paid parking lot right next to the Hotel for 600 yen per night. Please note that fees apply each time you enter or exit. The location of the Hotel may be slightly difficult to find; using Yakiniku Ichiriki as a landmark could help guide you there easily.

As the stay approached, I checked the reviews and found many negative ones, making me feel nervous and uneasy until arriving at the accommodation. I stayed during the year-end holidays, but other review sites mentioned that by late November, a pump failure had caused the large public bath to be unavailable, and guests were shuttled to another accommodation. This made me anxious, so I contacted the accommodation a day before my stay. They assured me that it was no longer broken, but I still felt uneasy... In the end, I was pleasantly surprised in a good way! I chose a room with an open-air bath. While it's true that the room itself is old, the open-air bath was spacious and absolutely fantastic! The private baths also offered beautiful views of Mount Yufu, and contrary to some negative reviews about water temperature issues in both private baths and public baths, everything was at just the right temperature. The staff seemed genuinely dedicated to improving their services; their efforts were evident. During meals, there were plenty of staff members available who promptly responded to requests like refills—making dining very pleasant. Thank you for allowing us to have such a comfortable stay!

Thank you very much for a wonderful stay. The kaiseki dinner, in particular, truly moved me—it was the most delicious I have had in years. Each dish was carefully prepared, and both the flavors and presentation were outstanding. I would highly recommend it to everyone. My sincere thanks to the head chef for preparing such an exceptional meal. The Onsen was also lovely, with a great atmosphere, and I was able to relax and unwind. However, I was a little disappointed that the women’s bathing hours were only from 17:00 to 20:00. I would have been even happier if it had been available for longer. The Room was clean and comfortable, and overall it felt like a calm, private space that I really enjoyed. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

When we went out for drinks in the evening, we asked for directions to Yobuko for the next day. Even though we came back late, you kindly came out from the back and carefully explained how to get to the Yobuko Morning Market. Thanks to you, we arrived early the next day without getting lost and were able to enjoy sightseeing. Thank you very much for your help—please let us stay again when we visit Ureshino! I wanted to thank you in person in the morning, but you weren’t there.

The interior had been nicely renovated. Some trash from the previous guest was left behind, so the cleaning was a bit disappointing, but we were still able to spend a comfortable stay in the spacious Room. The Onsen also has great water. All of the staff were kind and provided courteous service. The meals were fairly standard but tasty, and we left feeling full. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I stayed on a weekday. There was no wait at reception, and I was able to go to my Room smoothly. The Room is old, but it was properly cleaned and tidy. Amenities in each Room were limited to a toothbrush, towels, and a yukata, but there seemed to be more available in the Onsen changing room. Wi-Fi works, but when I ran a speed test the download speed was around 8 Mbps. Since it was about this fast on a quiet day, I wouldn’t expect much on busy days. For dinner, I chose the charcoal-grilled seafood set. It included crab, scallops, salmon, squid, vegetables, and also sashimi. Since there was udon included I didn’t ask for it, but it seems rice is provided as well. You can also order additional dishes or sake tasting sets for an extra charge. The Onsen felt like it was privately reserved just for me. It’s a great Onsen, and being able to use one of that size alone might actually be a rare opportunity. I think I saw other Reviews mentioning cold shower water; if it’s nearly private-use only, the pipes may have cooled down due to low usage. For about one minute only cold water came out, but after that it worked normally. The sauna did not seem to be available due to COVID-19 prevention measures. Overall, considering the Accommodation Fee level (value for money), this Hotel offers high satisfaction with dinner, breakfast (included), and the Onsen—great cost performance/value for money overall. The Facilities are somewhat dated throughout which is slightly noticeable; aside from that point my satisfaction level was high.

During a 3-day, 2-night trip visiting Kanazawa → Hida Takayama → Kamikochi, we stayed in a Room with a private bath on the second night. The atmosphere of the Accommodation, the Room itself, and the staff’s service were all excellent; however, the only disappointment was the open-air bath attached to the Room. Although there was a net provided to remove debris, once you get into the tub, settled leaves (or similar) stir up and float around, making them impossible to fully remove and they cling to your body. I understand that this may be part of what an open-air bath is like, but at similar baths we have stayed at in the past, there was a simple cover when not in use so debris was not much of an issue...

Stayed one night at "Kikyo" with my spouse, no meals included. The atmosphere, service, and private Onsen were excellent. I would love to visit again. If I had to mention any drawbacks, there was only one vending machine on the premises that did not accept 500 yen coins or 1,000 yen bills, and the area around the Room building was completely dark at night.

We traveled to the Tohoku region by car from Osaka! The owner was very kind and made us feel warm with their fun interactions. They offered us a "large room" and said, "Shuttle service is free, so feel free to enjoy some drinks!" They also mentioned, "We can extend your check-out time if needed." Although we didn’t use it as we left early in the morning, I thought it was excellent service! Naruko Onsen was wonderful! If I have another chance to visit, I’d love to stay again! People from Osaka are also very nice, so please come to like them too. Keep up the great work!

A nostalgic Showa-style Ryokan where you take off your shoes at the entrance! I think just changing the carpet here would dramatically change the overall atmosphere. The bath is a natural hot spring with a high content of metasilicic acid, so your skin becomes smooth and moist even without soap - wonderful! The tsumire unkai nabe for dinner was exquisite, and I was completely absorbed in it. The tamago kake gohan and soba mizu kake for breakfast were also delicious, and I was impressed by the abundant use of local ingredients, including vegetables. Thank you very much.

We stayed at the accommodation to visit udon restaurants with our family. Despite being during the Obon holiday, it was more affordable compared to others, and we decided immediately because of the price and the open-air bath. At night, we enjoyed the open-air bath, and in the morning, we used the large public bath—it was very nice. It was great that all five family members could stay in one room.
