The building isn’t very new. Some parts of the floor feel a bit soft, so please watch your step. I ended up checking in late, but when I called to let them know and shared my expected arrival time, they waited in front of the Ryokan and welcomed me. The dining staff were also courteous, and the food was delicious. The Onsen operates on a rotating schedule, but it’s open 24 hours, so you can enjoy it multiple times. The hallways are quite winding, so it’s easy to lose your sense of direction. The rates are reasonable as well, so I’d like to stay again—next time without being late and with more time to relax.

We stayed here for a family trip with relatives. It’s conveniently located right in front of the highway bus stop. It’s a bit far from central Hakodate, but it’s only about 15 minutes by bus. The Room was nice, and the seafood meals were especially outstanding—our older relatives were delighted. The bath had wonderful water and we really enjoyed it; they said they would definitely like to stay again. We felt it was the perfect place to relax and recover from fatigue. Thank you very much.

It was a very beautiful Hotel with great service, and I felt the staff’s hospitality and attentiveness were wonderful. The in-room open-air bath was also excellent! I think guests would be even happier if there were direct access from the shower room to the open-air bath. The distance is short, but I couldn’t help worrying about water dripping while moving around when wet, so with a little improvement it would be perfect. For guests, dining is also an important point, and it was very good! I also posted photos—late-night ramen was delicious, especially the tomato ramen recommended by the staff. It’s a Hotel that made me want to visit again after a long time. To all staff members (including makeup and bed-making), thank you very much for such a wonderful time.

The bath and Room were clean and comfortable, and all the staff were very kind. Both dinner and breakfast had just the right seasoning and portions, and everything was delicious. It would be perfect if breakfast included a small dessert bite and after-meal coffee. This was a Ryokan I would definitely like to stay at again and recommend to friends. We stayed at Fugaku Gunjo as a couple during a summer holiday we were able to take at short notice. Away from the bustle of everyday life, we were able to spend unhurried time together in a quiet setting. Even though it was a short stay, it felt deeply fulfilling. Although we were blessed with clear weather on the day of our stay, the typical summer haze meant we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji clearly during the daytime. Then, around 6:00 the next morning, I happened to glance outside and there it was—Mt. Fuji standing out in crisp detail. Its powerful, beautiful summer presence—so different from its snow-capped 모습—left a lasting impression. Listening to cicadas, simply taking in the view and enjoying time doing nothing. Even moments when we would normally keep ourselves busy felt like a luxury here. It was an experience unique to Fugaku Gunjo, where only the sounds of nature blend into the stillness. The dining was also exceptional. The French kaiseki dinner showcased each ingredient with great care, and every course was a pleasure. Japanese and French elements came together naturally, creating refined dishes that remained enjoyable through to the end. Breakfast was equally memorable. The rice cooked in a traditional pot was truly delicious—we realized we had finished every last bite between us without even noticing. We also learned that some of their rice and vegetables are grown on their own farm, and we were impressed by how seriously this Accommodation values its ingredients from the very source. Not just presentation but attention to these details is what elevates the entire stay. What especially stayed with us this time was the hospitality of all staff members. From Shuttle Service to check-in and dining, everyone we met was friendly and welcoming with genuine smiles—and their sense of distance felt perfectly comfortable as well. Their warm hospitality never felt formal or scripted; it put us at ease again and again throughout our stay. Though it was only one night and two days, everything from arrival to departure felt consistently pleasant. Beyond the spectacular views, beautiful rooms, and wonderful food—from growing ingredients on their own farm to thoughtful attentiveness by staff—you can feel careful dedication throughout this Accommodation. Looking back on this trip, it feels less like “an Accommodation you stay at for sightseeing somewhere else,” and more like “a place you travel for in order to spend time here.” Next time, we’d love to visit in another season—and enjoy a trip where staying at Fugaku Gunjo itself is our main purpose once again as a couple.

The facilities and guest rooms were clean and spacious, and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy seven types of private baths free of charge. The buffet meals were also delicious. In addition, the staff were courteous and kind. As is common across Kyoritsu Resort properties, they offered thoughtful complimentary services—from welcome drinks to post-bath ice cream, free probiotic drinks in the morning, and even late-night soba noodles. However, it was raining that day and the parking lot was a bit far away, which was slightly inconvenient.

We celebrated his birthday here. We chose this Accommodation to celebrate as the last couple before we become husband and wife when we visit Shimabara again next year. We were truly impressed by the staff’s thoughtful hospitality, and the locally sourced cuisine was absolutely delicious. The in-Room sauna and bath were both excellent. Everything was perfect.

The property was quiet, and I was able to relax very comfortably. The Onsen was also a milky white sulfur spring, and it felt like it would be good for the body. It was a Hotel that made me want to visit again.

Since there were no vacancies at other facilities, I made a Reservation. I wasn’t expecting much because it wasn’t a high-priced property, but the meals and the view from the restaurant were wonderful. However, the coffee machine used powdered milk and it tasted terrible. I’d like to visit again if I have the chance.

I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, but this was the first one that felt absolutely flawless! I fell in love at first sight with the stunning rock bath scenery on YouTube and made a Reservation for the Yoimachi Room. The open-air bath was spacious, and the view from it was so breathtaking it nearly brought me to tears. The hot spring water was silky-smooth, and my skin felt amazing! The food was also delicious, and even the rice tasted exceptional. The nikujaga served at breakfast was so good that I’d love to ask—if you don’t mind—whether the soy sauce you use is light soy sauce or a type used mainly in Kyushu. The Room was wonderfully quiet as well, and I could truly relax. I definitely want to come back for a special occasion. Next year, I’ll visit one of your sister properties too.

I had been wanting to stay here for a long time, and my wish finally came true. I was very satisfied with the Onsen and the breakfast and dinner served in semi-private dining areas. If I had to mention something, the parking lot was far away and there were only stairs, so getting around was a bit difficult. Above all, I truly admired the staff’s warm and courteous service.

This Accommodation made me wish I could have extended my stay if I hadn’t had work the next day. From the parking guidance on arrival through to check-out, we received warm and pleasant hospitality. As it is a Ryokan with only a few Rooms, it felt very private, and we hardly ever shared the Onsen with other guests. It was a wonderful escape from everyday life and left us feeling refreshed. We would love to visit again.

On a whim during the Obon holidays, I made a Reservation for one night starting August 15, booking on August 13. I have a shellfish allergy, and since it was such short notice I thought it might be difficult, but they replied right away, “No problem.” The Hotel does feel a bit old, but it is well kept and clean, so my stay was very comfortable. The meals were generous and delicious. Above all, what makes this Hotel special is how kind everyone is. They don’t say unnecessary things, but if you ask something they think it through as if it were their own matter and respond sincerely. It left me feeling warm inside. It really shows that you don’t need a luxury Hotel to have a great stay. I highly recommend staying here at least once.\nI do not recommend climbing the 365 steps of the Ikaho Onsen stone staircase in midsummer—I was drenched in sweat and completely out of breath.

The staff provided excellent service, from our arrival to meal service. The large public bath and the Room were very clean, and the food was delicious, making our stay very comfortable. It became a wonderful memory of our family trip. Thank you very much.

I stayed here to visit Akiyoshido Cave and the Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau. It was a very fine Hotel, the Room was spacious, and the bedding was comfortable for a good night’s sleep. Yuda Onsen has an abundant supply of hot water, and the baths were excellent. A staff member near the front desk told me about highlights around Yuda Onsen, so I visited the Nakahara Chuya Memorial Museum, Rurikoji Temple, and Yamaguchi Xavier Memorial Church. Since it was Sunday, hymns could be heard and it felt very solemn; the temple also had an impressive five-story pagoda. It’s a compact town, but it was interesting and perfect for half a day of sightseeing. As for the Accommodation itself, it did feel slightly aged in places, but the meals were luxurious and the fugu sashimi was delicious. There may have been a few too many dishes overall—I was already quite full by the time I got to items like fried ayu. Personally, I felt ayu wasn’t really necessary. Also, I would have appreciated complimentary mineral water as an amenity; most Accommodations offer it these days, so I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t any. The footbath next to the Accommodation had also dried up—whether due to water shortages or energy saving measures, it felt a little sad. In any case, thank you very much for your hospitality. Overall I had a very positive impression, though personally I would have preferred slightly lighter meals. The Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau offers truly one-of-a-kind panoramic views that I’d love to see again, so I may return in the future—thank you in advance when that time comes.

We visited with our 3-month-old baby. As it was our first trip with a child, we were anxious at first, but thanks to the warm hospitality and flexible support, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. We had made a Reservation for a dinner course at the restaurant, and I was worried that if our baby cried it might disturb other guests. The staff continued to reassure me with thoughtful words, and I was especially impressed by how quickly they arranged to change the latter part of the meal to room service. I’m truly grateful to the kind female staff member who took care of us at dinner! Because of this heartfelt service, we decided to make our next Reservation with a Hyatt property as well. On the recommendation of an acquaintance who lives in Ibusuki, I stayed here in March and April this year. What stands out most about Ginsho is the delicious food! In addition to fresh local sashimi, the freshly fried Satsuma-age was exceptional. The seasoning was not too strong, and the portions were just right. The Onsen water quality was also excellent. I was able to relax and unwind.\n\nThe friendly and wonderful proprietress, whose warm personality truly shows in her smile, took great care of me. All of the staff were kind and provided very pleasant service. I will visit again soon. Thank you very much for everything!

From the moment we boarded the elevator to the Ryokan from in front of Sounzan Station, it was an exciting experience. The Accommodation and all the staff welcomed us with a warm atmosphere, and everything—the Room, the carefully prepared meals, the Onsen, and the views—was wonderfully soothing. We were able to spend a slow, quiet, luxurious time. Thank you very much.

I booked this Ryokan to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Since Yumotokan was over our budget, we stayed at Komorebi on Friday and Saturday (JPY 17,000 per person). We were really looking forward to the Onsen, and although it costs extra, we were very satisfied that for JPY 700 we could access the adjacent Yumotokan and enjoy an Onsen while looking out over Lake Biwa. The Onsen on the 11th floor in particular felt wonderfully open and bright—I felt so relaxed I could have dozed off. The meals were also luxurious, with steak and shabu-shabu. The eel takikomi rice was especially delicious. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful time!

We stayed in the annex. As a Premium Suite, it is spacious and comes with a private garden. The amenities and towels are well stocked. There are three TVs. The Room bath includes both an open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water straight from the source and an indoor bath. The toilet is quite small, which feels like a design flaw. Meals are served in a separate building. This is also a newer building and is excellent. They put great effort into the food, with many dishes, and we were very satisfied. There are also baths in the main building as well as in the new separate building, but the in-Room open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water was exceptionally good. It was worth more than the price.
