Everything was wonderful—the hot springs, the food, and the hospitality. I’ve had kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) several times in Izu, but the simmered kinmedai at this ryokan was the best. I was surprised to see my daughter, who usually isn’t a fan of simmered fish, asking for seconds. The mini rice bowl—topping white rice with the sauce and fish—was absolutely worth making room for! Unfortunately, we didn’t have good weather and couldn’t do much sightseeing, but being able to stay at Hamanoyu made it a trip our whole family was truly happy with. We’d love to come again. This was our second stay, and everything—from the facilities and cuisine to the service—was excellent. The room was spacious and well equipped with no inconveniences at all, impeccably cleaned, and the open-air bath was also generously sized, making it wonderfully relaxing to use. The meals made great use of quality ingredients while incorporating thoughtful touches, and everything was delicious. The truffle rice at dinner (maybe it was just my imagination) seemed even more fragrant with dashi than last time—it was so good I felt like I could eat bowl after bowl! All of the staff were courteous and attentive, allowing us to enjoy a comfortable stay from start to finish. We truly felt glad we chose to stay again. Thank you very much.

The view from the room was outstanding, and the spacious room was very comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were truly delicious, with each dish beautifully presented, making it a delight for both the eyes and the palate. The rice cooked in a traditional kama pot was especially exceptional—I couldn’t help but eat too much. Everything—the view, the room, and the food—was wonderful, making this a fantastic inn where we could spend a relaxing and pleasant time.

This was my second stay at this Hotel, and once again everything was perfect. The hospitality is outstanding, and every member of the staff is truly impeccable. The interior design is tasteful, the meals are delicious, and I highly recommend this Hotel. Having lived abroad for many years and stayed at many top-class Hotels around the world, Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel is one of my favorites.

This time, I stayed with my parents. In a word, it is a refined Accommodation—like a hidden retreat for adults. The lobby has high ceilings and an open, airy feel, with beautifully maintained gardens. Tasteful jazz plays from a glass vacuum-tube audio system. The staff are calm and friendly. When I mentioned at dinner that I am left-handed, the younger staff shared the information, and they had chopsticks set accordingly at breakfast the next morning—I was truly happy. Small touches like this mean a lot to guests. “Quality” includes the building and furnishings, of course, but what moves guests and makes them want to return is hospitality above all else. The meals were excellent, and the selection of alcoholic drinks was also outstanding. The tableware had great taste as well. My mother said the portion sizes were just right and she could fully enjoy them. That night all three of us said, “Let’s come again.” More than anything flashy, quietness, genuine hospitality from the staff, and delicious food are what make an Accommodation truly exceptional. I would love to visit again during pufferfish season.

We stayed here as a couple.\n\nWe had been interested in this Accommodation for some time, and after actually staying, it exceeded our expectations. Above all, the milky-white free-flowing Onsen from the source was outstanding, and soaking at a leisurely pace felt truly luxurious. We also enjoyed the private open-air bath together without any worries, which became a wonderful memory.\n\nBoth dinner and breakfast featured carefully prepared dishes that made the most of local ingredients, and we were completely satisfied with both the taste and portion sizes. Everything at both meals was delicious, and we were impressed to enjoy freshly made dishes served piping hot.\n\nThe staff’s hospitality was warm, with thoughtful attention to detail throughout our stay, making it very comfortable. The Room was clean and had a calm atmosphere, allowing us to slowly unwind from everyday fatigue.\n\nThe Onsen, cuisine, and hospitality were all excellent—we were satisfied in every way. To get straight to the point, this became an absolute favorite! I used to think staying overnight in Arima Onsen was expensive (especially with meals), so my usual style was to stay at a Hotel in Kobe, then stop by Arima Onsen the next day—soak at Kin no Yu or Gin no Yu and enjoy street food. This time I found this Hotel, and since it’s a No Meals Included Plan but still comes with tickets for the public baths, I was excited that I could finally fully enjoy Arima Onsen!! I arrived in the early afternoon and they kindly let me park my car at the Hotel. From the very beginning, all of the staff were incredibly kind and welcomed me so warmly! The location is easy to find since it’s just up from the shopping street, and Taiko no Yu is also right nearby. I walked from the Hotel and enjoyed street food starting from below all the way up to shops higher up, but it never felt far coming back. Also, while it may be an older property, everything is kept very clean, so it didn’t bother me at all—I was completely comfortable. I went to Kin no Yu, Gin no Yu, and Taiko-no-Yu Donokan as well, but personally I liked this Hotel’s bath the best! It wasn’t crowded and I could relax in a spacious setting. The foot acupressure bath felt amazing—I enjoyed it morning and night like a kid again! You do one loop through both cold water and hot water areas, and the stones underfoot give just the right amount of stimulation. Since I happened to be alone at that time, I went around several times! The hot water itself was also fantastic! The post-bath drink bar was another nice touch. And even the sweets with tea in my Room were something I already loved from Arima Onsen—so for the first time in a while I bought some at the shop to take home! Staying at this Hotel let me enjoy Arima Onsen to its fullest—it was refreshing and wonderful. Thank you as well for your pleasant service—I'll definitely come again!

From check-in to departure, we received warm, unpretentious hospitality. The meals were especially wonderful, and we were able to fully enjoy the seasonal flavors. The staff were friendly and cheerful in a natural way, making the stay enjoyable with their explanations of the dishes and leaving us feeling truly welcomed.

I decided to write a Review for the first time in almost a year. Everything was flawless, and it was an extremely comfortable stay. The handrails for the open-air bath in the Room were thoughtfully placed with careful attention to movement flow, so even with my mobility issues I was able to bathe safely without feeling anxious. In addition, the handrails were made of wood rather than cold metal, and I truly appreciated the consideration shown throughout for guests. Thank you very much for such a blissful time.

I had planned to walk from the nearest station, but was pleasantly surprised when the owner came to pick me up on arrival. I came for the hot springs, and they were exactly as hoped: a stunning emerald-green color with a gentle sulfur scent. The meals may not be extravagant, but each dish reflects the chef’s dedication, and that quality continues all the way through dessert. A truly special inn—one I promised myself I would return to.

The welcome herbal water drink was delicious—absolutely amazing!! This is truly a tropical paradise, a Resort Hotel. The view from the ocean-view Room was breathtaking—it really felt like “time, please stop!” As we left the Hotel from the parking lot, a handsome front desk staff member waved goodbye, which left a wonderful impression. It was an excellent Hotel that made us want to come back.

I made a Reservation the day before my stay after reading the reviews. It was No Meals Included, but the service and atmosphere were great—this was a wonderful Hotel just as described. There is parking, and it’s fairly close to the station, so I recommend it. If I have the chance to visit again, I will definitely stay here. To all the staff, thank you for providing such a comfortable space.

I’d heard the rumors, and they were true: the setting, hospitality, and cuisine were all outstanding. I’ve always felt that the Tokugawa family helped shape the foundations of Japanese culture, and Shiraisi-ya is said to be an even older establishment with over 300 years of history. I felt as though I experienced the secret to its longevity firsthand. I’d gladly recommend it to friends.

The front desk staff provided very thorough explanations, and it made me feel glad I chose to stay here. If I have the chance to visit again, I would love to stay here again.

Although it was a small ryokan that accommodates only a few guests, it was a very quiet, comfortable place with a traditional Japanese atmosphere. The staff were also very attentive. I was especially impressed by how wonderful the meals were, and I really liked the tastefully chosen tableware as well.

This was my first stay here. The hot springs were wonderful and helped me recover from the fatigue of sightseeing. The open-air bath in particular had the perfect temperature—not too hot—so I could relax and soak at ease. The meals were beautifully presented, delicious to look at, and even more delicious to eat—I was completely satisfied. The room was quiet and calming. There wasn’t a view, but the maple leaves outside the window were just starting to change color, and it made me want to visit again during the autumn foliage season. All of the staff provided excellent service as well, and on this family trip—the first in a while—we were able to spend a truly relaxing time.

I stayed here on a solo trip. It is a small Accommodation, but every detail is thoughtfully cared for, and I had a very comfortable stay. Ikebana arrangements were displayed throughout wherever my eyes fell, and I could really feel the Accommodation’s hospitality. The meals—especially the vegetables—were delicious, and since they were served in my Room, I was able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. I left the Accommodation sincerely thinking, “I want to stay here again!” Thank you very much.

Because the property is operated by a small team, there were a few minor things I noticed, but the meals were delicious and served in just the right portions, and I was able to enjoy the bath to my satisfaction with a Reservation. I’d love to come back in autumn to see the fall foliage.

All the meals were delicious, and the Onsen was wonderful. The Room and bath areas were kept very clean, so we had a very comfortable stay. The amenities were well provided and really helpful. There was bottled water in the Room refrigerator, and there was also a lounge where you can freely enjoy soft drinks; we had coffee after dinner as well. The Japanese garden in the courtyard was also beautiful. We could choose our favorite yukata, which made us feel even more excited. All the staff were kind and helpful. There were lots of cute cat-themed items in the lobby, hallways, and lounge, which was very soothing. We were able to relax at a leisurely pace. There was a roadside station and a supermarket nearby, so the location was convenient as well. It was such a lovely Accommodation that we would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

It was exactly my kind of style, so I found myself simply gazing around and feeling soothed. The rooftop lounge offered an abundant selection of juices, alcoholic drinks, coffee, Atami’s famous sweets, and light snacks. I couldn’t believe I could choose so freely—can I really have any of these?—and I got genuinely excited. Sipping drinks, enjoying sweets, soaking in the foot bath… it was such a luxurious time taking in the views of Atami. The staff also maintained the perfect level of attentiveness—providing towels to dry our feet and preparing drinks—so considerate in every way. I’m truly grateful. What especially impressed me was the full-course dinner. Each dish was beautifully presented—not only a feast for the eyes—but also had deep flavors with sauces crafted down to the finest detail. I was genuinely moved. Even now, looking back at my photos brings back that lingering feeling: how beautiful it was and how delicious everything tasted. Everything—the room, the meals, and the hospitality—was perfect. It was a place where I could truly refresh from the heart. I feel fully recharged; I’ll do my best day by day and hope to return again someday. Thank you very much.
