We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The Facilities, the staff’s atmosphere, and the meals were all excellent. It was clear that each staff member truly loves dogs. We would definitely like to stay again.

I had a very comfortable 3-day, 2-night stay in a quiet setting. The meals were delicious, and the nightly mini concerts in the lobby were truly relaxing. As I was traveling solo, it wasn’t cheap, but the Facility and the quality of the cuisine more than justified it. If I had to mention one thing, the toilet paper in the Room was thin and a bit inconvenient to use. It was a wonderful and comfortable Hotel that will likely make me want to return again in summer.

Choosing the Plan with breakfast and dinner was absolutely the right decision. Using the ingredients as they are, with a clever twist here and there, we found ourselves saying “oh!” again and again—it was a real delight. We highly recommend the meal Plan. The Room was clean, and the Onsen was very relaxing. It exceeded our expectations for the price. We’re already looking forward to the meals on our next stay. Our sincere thanks to all of your staff. Thank you for the wonderful service—it made our stay truly exceptional. First, I accidentally made a Reservation with the wrong gender, but you quickly brought us yukata in different sizes, which was very helpful. With fewer guests staying, the attentive, personalized service really stood out. We also enjoyed the complimentary pudding—it was delicious. The Onsen was available at night as well, so we could relax and take our time. The bed felt a bit firm and slightly uncomfortable to sleep on, but other than that we had no complaints at all. Also, it was pouring rain at checkout, and you kindly handed us towels—this helped us so much. We truly appreciated your thoughtful attention to detail. We would love to stay here again when we visit Kusatsu.

My first time at Myoban Onsen. I’m excited to be able to stay at Okamotoya, which is highly rated in guidebooks. I was very satisfied with the milky-blue water. The Room was just the right size for one person and had a great view, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The dessert pudding and the orange juice at breakfast were especially appreciated since I don’t drink alcohol. Since this is a Multiple Night Stay, it really helped that they provided extra yukata and towels. Just one thing: at dinner on the first day, the rice and soup were a bit lukewarm (it was fine on the second day). Also, perhaps due to the season, the seating was quite close to other guests during meals, which made it a little hard to eat comfortably. Still, I’m so satisfied that I’d definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

We used this Hotel for a motorcycle touring trip. Before our stay, we contacted the Hotel and asked, “Do you have parking for five motorcycles?” The staff kindly told us they would prepare a place to park. When we arrived, they had properly secured a parking area for us, and we were especially impressed that it was covered. Since motorcycles can be affected by rain, having a covered space is ideal. In the evening, they also let us use part of the restaurant for about an hour to discuss the next day’s route, which we truly appreciated. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes and was delicious. We would definitely like to stay again when we visit that area next time. Thank you very much—we are truly grateful.

We visited to celebrate my father’s 80th birthday. It was a long drive from Yokohama to Nagano, but this was a wonderful Accommodation that truly made us glad we came. The in-room open-air bath was a little hot and needed some adjustment, but it was clean, spacious, and free of insects. The shampoo and conditioner also left our hair smooth and silky. (Some Ryokan at this level still leave your hair feeling rough.) All the staff who welcomed us were smiling, and during dinner the head chef served the main dish right at our table. Everything was delicious—made with local ingredients and carefully prepared with great attention to detail. On our way out, they even opened the souvenir shop in the main building earlier for us, so I was happy to be able to buy the souvenirs I wanted. My parents were very pleased as well, so we would love to visit again while they are still healthy.

I booked this stay because of the great Reviews, and it really caught my interest. After sightseeing at Kinomiya Shrine, we took a taxi there, and they warmly welcomed us at the entrance upon arrival. We were traveling with our 4-year-old and 1-year-old children, and everyone was so kind that the kids seemed to have a wonderful time. And above all, I was amazed at how incredibly delicious the food was. My husband and I weren’t very hungry when we went to dinner, but every dish was so good that before we knew it, we had finished everything. Even the appetizers were outstanding. We’ve traveled to many places before, but this was the first time we’ve had food this delicious. The children’s meal was also excellent, and even our child who usually eats very little seemed to eat a lot. Since our younger child is still small, my younger child and I used the in-Room bath, but it was spacious and spotless, so we enjoyed it more than enough. When we come to Atami again, I definitely want to stay here again!

This was my long-admired Accommodation, and my first visit. I was truly able to relax in a space where all I could see from the Room was greenery, and all I could hear were the calls of cicadas. The two large public baths had slightly different temperatures between the indoor bath and the open-air bath, so even I, who am not fond of very hot water, could choose what suited me. The meals also featured seasonal ingredients beautifully and were absolutely delicious. I sincerely appreciate the staff’s thoughtful, unobtrusive hospitality. I would love to return in a different season.

We made a Reservation to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. The atmosphere was very calm, and it was so quiet and relaxing that we almost forgot we were in Dogo. The Onsen was wonderful, and we were amazed by the generous breakfast. We enjoyed a luxurious meal in the morning and then relaxed again in the Onsen. The hostess and all the staff provided outstanding service. We would love to stay here again.

The parking lot is less than a 1-minute walk from the Accommodation, but cars cannot be brought right up to the entrance, so the proprietress came to our car to pick up our luggage. Dinner was the Shige-no-Ie group dining Plan; the hot pot was served with their homemade broth instead of ponzu, and it was very delicious. The soba rice porridge served at breakfast was also very tasty. However, we chose a room with an open-air bath, but perhaps due to its age, one tile had come off and there were quite a few dirty bits of sealant and debris floating in the water, which was disappointing. There were several other spots that felt loose when touched, so I think they should be repaired before more tiles come off. My husband used it and said both the Onsen and the garden were wonderful, but my daughter and I couldn’t use it because it felt unclean, which was unfortunate. All of the staff were easy to talk to and spoke to my daughter every time they saw her; everyone was very friendly and it was great.

I stayed here again for the first time in five years. The food and service felt much improved, which was a pleasant surprise. For example, the rice at breakfast was excellent—among the best I’ve had in Yamagata. I also enjoyed chatting with the staff and had a great time. I’d like to visit again soon.

This was my second stay at this Hotel, and once again everything was perfect. The hospitality is outstanding, and every member of the staff is truly impeccable. The interior design is tasteful, the meals are absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend this Hotel. Having lived abroad for many years and stayed at many top-class Hotels around the world, Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel is one of my favorites.

I stayed here with my husband in winter last time, and this time with our daughter as a group of three. The Room was beautiful and spotless, and the open-air bath was wonderful. The large public bath was also quiet, and we were able to relax at our own pace. The meals were truly delicious, and we enjoyed them with our eyes as well, served in refreshing-looking tableware. The staff were kind, and we had a very comfortable stay. Next time, I’d like to visit in spring. This is my favorite Accommodation.

I stayed here on a solo trip as a treat for myself. From the moment I arrived, I was comforted by the staff’s warm and attentive hospitality. The meals were packed with fresh vegetables, with generous portions—I was completely satisfied. On top of that, the all-you-can-drink option, pre-dinner snacks, and dessert service made it a truly pampering stay. I was so full after dinner that I unfortunately couldn’t eat dessert, but next time I’d like to plan my appetite better so I can enjoy it. Even when we drove past the Hotel on our way out, the staff waved to me with big smiles, and it left me feeling warmly happy—almost to tears. Next time I’ll come with my family. It was a wonderful Ryokan. I loved the Onsen water quality, and I was able to relax completely in the open-air bath on the rooftop. The meals were also very delicious. You could really feel the chef’s care in each carefully prepared dish; I hope the rice served will be of a standard that matches it. I couldn’t say it was at its best, so I think it could be improved further by adjusting how it’s kept warm, for example. It was an excellent Accommodation.

From July 20, we stayed for two nights again. We traveled by train with two dogs. We’ve gotten completely used to it now, and that’s all thanks to the warmth and kindness of everyone at the Ryokan. I couldn’t make it without the Shuttle Service from the station. Thank you, as always, for your wonderful Shuttle Service. The meals reflected the season, and each dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. I rated the bath 4 stars because the stairs to and from the bath, and the airflow around that area, felt a bit uncomfortable for this time of year. The bath temperature was perfect for me.
