You can enjoy Hōekisen Onsen, with a 1,300-year history, as 100% free-flowing natural spring water with no added water. As it is a private bath, I was able to relax and soak at my own pace while enjoying the river view. The scenery of the Uregawa River was also wonderful. The Room will be irresistible for anyone who loves traditional old Japanese houses. The meals were Chinese herbal cuisine prepared by a Chinese chef; paired perfectly with herbal liquor and were truly delicious. The chicken breast soup, black-bone chicken soup, and soft-shelled turtle soup were all excellent. I could also use the baths at a nearby sister property; each had great views and was wonderful in its own way. I stayed for two nights, but there are many attractions nearby and I couldn’t see everything, so I’d like to visit again.

Thanks to the excellent location right in front of Yubatake, we were able to fully enjoy not only evening strolls but also morning walks. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. The breakfast smoothies and rice balls were especially popular with our family. It was our first trip to Kusatsu and we weren’t sure which Accommodation to choose, but we’re truly glad we chose this one.

We stayed here with a total of 12 people, including my parents and my sister’s family. The Onsen and the Room were both clean and very comfortable. The meals were also delicious, and I was especially happy to see my mother enjoy them. Yamagata Prefecture is where my mother’s family is from, and I have visited many times since childhood. Wherever you go, you can enjoy Onsen, great food, skiing in winter, and warm hospitality—it’s one of my favorite places. Next time, I’d love to come again with the family members who couldn’t join us this time. Thank you very much.

We stayed here to celebrate his birthday. I had long dreamed of visiting this Accommodation, so I was truly looking forward to it—and the experience exceeded my expectations in every way. Personally, I’m not usually comfortable with the atmosphere of a traditional Ryokan, but Hanamurasaki pleasantly changed that impression. The Room was a refined, modern space, yet it also felt warmly relaxing. Even down to the amenities and small details, everything matched a contemporary sense of comfort while still offering the calmness and attentiveness unique to a Ryokan. Above all, the view from our Room was breathtaking. Watching the scenery slowly change over time—accompanied only by insects chirping and the sounds of wind and water—felt incredibly luxurious. I even forgot about my smartphone entirely and was able to savor unhurried time and conversation, which became a cherished memory. The in-room Onsen was also wonderful: an unexpectedly spacious bath with an exceptional sense of openness. From soaking while taking in the view to simply enjoying the moment, it truly felt like pure indulgence. Dinner was served as a course meal, enjoyable not only for its flavors but also for its beautiful tableware and presentation. We could fully appreciate local tastes and seasonal touches, and we were very satisfied. Thank you as well for kindly accommodating ingredients I don’t eat. Another highlight was the hospitality from all of the staff. It never felt excessive—always natural—yet their thoughtful attention could be felt throughout our stay. Beyond the sophisticated space and cuisine, I believe this Accommodation’s greatest charm is also its human warmth. A modern, polished setting combined with warmth that only a Ryokan can offer—the two coexisted so comfortably that “a place where you can experience a new value in what a Ryokan can be” felt like exactly the right description. This trip was chosen to celebrate his birthday, but before I knew it I had completely fallen in love with Hanamurasaki (laugh). I’m truly glad we chose it for such an important occasion. I booked this stay because of the great Reviews, and it really caught my interest. After sightseeing at Kinomiya Shrine, we took a taxi there, and they warmly welcomed us at the entrance upon arrival. We were traveling with our 4-year-old and 1-year-old children, and everyone was so kind that the kids seemed to have a wonderful time. And above all, I was amazed at how incredibly delicious the food was. My husband and I weren’t very hungry when we went to dinner, but every dish was so good that before we knew it, we had finished everything. Even the appetizers were outstanding. We’ve traveled to many places before, but this was the first time we’ve had food this delicious. The children’s meal was also excellent, and even our child who usually eats very little seemed to eat a lot. Since our younger child is still small, my younger child and I used the in-Room bath, but it was spacious and spotless, so we enjoyed it more than enough. When we come to Atami again, I definitely want to stay here again!

I have stayed here many times. Among the Onsen in Zao, the water quality is excellent, and Tsuruya’s baths suit me perfectly. There are also four types of private baths, so you can relax and enjoy them at your own pace. The food is incredibly delicious—every meat dish is generous in portion size and so tasty that you’ll want to eat it again right away. This time I had the Zao beef steak; it was very tender and wonderful with a variety of flavors such as lemon butter and wasabi. I will definitely visit again. A Multiple Night Stay is also recommended.

I stayed here with my wife for our wedding anniversary. The Room and the in-room bath were very clean, and we were able to relax and enjoy a wonderful time. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious no matter what we tried, and we were truly impressed. All of the staff were kind, and greeted us every time we saw them, so even though it was just a one-night stay, we felt very comfortable throughout. It was truly wonderful. The food was excellent; every dish was prepared with care by the head chef, and even the tableware was beautiful. The course meal came in just the right portions, and everything tasted great. The breakfast buffet was also all handmade with rich, thoughtful flavors. The Onsen was clean and well maintained, and I went in many times. The staff service was outstanding as well. Their spirit of hospitality showed even in the smallest details, and the service was excellent. My companion was very satisfied too. I felt it’s a Hotel where adults can relax and enjoy a luxurious stay. The 4.6-star rating wasn’t a lie. Unfortunately we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji this time, so I’ll visit again. It was also amazing to lie down and watch the clouds move through a picture-frame-like window. It really is a great Hotel.

I stayed with my elderly mother. After letting them know in advance, they prepared a Room close to the bath and even provided a legless chair, which we truly appreciated. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and each one was delicious—we were very satisfied. My mother was especially happy to enjoy many different dishes little by little. The bath was a milky, cloudy hot spring, with the temperature just right, and it felt wonderful no matter how many times we went in. We were able to relax and spend quality time together as parent and child while warming up slowly. Most Accommodations provide only one small towel, but here there was an extra small towel in addition to the amenity set (with towels), which I found very convenient. The experienced staff had a calm, reassuring “true hotel professional” manner, and their explanations about the facilities were very thorough. The international staff also made a great effort to explain things in Japanese, and their friendly smiles left a strong impression. I think this is an Accommodation with warm hospitality that is also considerate for families traveling with elderly relatives. I would love to visit again with my mother.

The kids’ meals and amenities were excellent, and the Facility environment was wonderful for keeping children entertained. The kids’ room is open 24 hours, so even children who wake up early and are full of energy could enjoy themselves to the fullest. When our older grandchild fell ill on the second day, you were a tremendous help—preparing gentle-on-the-stomach meals and promptly taking care of the bedding. The adults who enjoy drinks also thoroughly enjoyed the all-inclusive plan. We would love to visit again. Just one request: we would feel safer if an additional lock for access to the open-air bath and footbath area could be installed higher up as well. Our 4-year-old can unlock doors on their own, and we felt anxious about them accidentally stepping out onto the terrace and potentially falling into the river. Thank you for considering this.

Despite changing the number of guests just one day before, they kindly called back and responded promptly. The private bath and the meals were excellent; the hot pot broth was so delicious that we drank it all and ended up completely full. The handmade soba had a great bite, and the freshly cooked rice was glossy and so good that we had seconds even though we were already full. The bath water had natural mineral deposits, leaving our skin smooth and soothing both body and mind from everyday fatigue. Thank you very much.

This is a small Hotel right in front of Lake Chuzenji, and we had a wonderful trip thanks to the thoughtful hospitality of all the staff. From the in-room scenic bath, we could look out over the sea, and from the living area we could see airplanes up close. In the open-air bath of the large public bath, we could look up at planes just before landing, and were truly impressed by how powerful it was. We look forward to visiting again next year after the renovations are completed.
