All rooms are suites: main-building guestrooms overlooking the Miyagawa River, a first-class river, and private annex villas surrounded by abundant nature. Hidden Retreat Shirakawa Gensen Sanso Takefue is set on an expansive 5,000-tsubo property, featuring only 12 private villas and a spa building, along with 30 natural hot spring baths flowing directly from our own sources. All guest rooms are designed in a modern Japanese style and include an irori (traditional sunken hearth), tatami room, and indoor bath. Eight of the villas also offer open-air baths over 5 meters in size, blending beautifully with the surrounding nature. Meals are served in the comfort of your room at the irori for both dinner and breakfast. Located southeast of Matsumoto City, it sits at an elevation of approximately 1,050 meters.In spring, vibrant red azaleas bloom amidst lush greenery, reflecting the simplicity and sincerity of human nature.During summer, visitors seeking cool retreats or hiking adventures to Utsukushigahara and Mount Hachibuse bring a lively atmosphere to the tranquil valley. The Yumoto Saito Ryokan, with a history of 284 years, is a charming property blending the Shirahone Onsen and the traditional ambiance of Shinshu. The onsen, sourced from its own spring since the Kamakura period, is milky white and is said to be effective for gastrointestinal ailments. All 53 guest rooms are named after notable novelists and poets, offering a serene space for relaxation. Additionally, you can savor Japanese seasonal course meals featuring the bounty of Shinshu's mountains and rivers.

A refined sukiya-style retreat nestled along a lush, verdant gorge.
