This was my second stay. Once again, I felt the staff’s warm hospitality in so many moments, and it made for a truly wonderful visit. Both dinner and breakfast for solo diners were delicious. Since this trip also celebrated my mother’s birthday, I was especially looking forward to the cake I had requested. It looked beautiful, the figs were wonderfully fresh and juicy, and it was genuinely delicious. It was light and easy to eat, so even though we were full after dinner, we finished it in no time. I also loved the welcome amenity sweets so much that I bought some to enjoy after my stay. I had planned to take the herbal cordial home as well, but after trying a sample I couldn’t stop—I ended up drinking it all during my stay because it was that good! At breakfast, the carrot smoothie left a particularly strong impression. It was sweet and delicious—I even looked up the same one afterward. Everything—from the food to the amenities—showed such care and attention to detail that they were things I wanted to keep enjoying even after leaving. I also used the bath salts included as a Well-being Room benefit right away; they warmed me from deep within and felt wonderful. The bed was very comfortable too. I usually have trouble falling asleep when traveling, but this time I drifted off quickly. One small point: I found the lighting controls a bit hard to understand. At night, I wanted to turn on only the toilet light, but couldn’t get it to work as intended and felt a little confused. If it were more intuitive, it would be even more comfortable. Once again, we had such a relaxing time together and made lovely memories with my mother. We would love to return.

We planned a three-night trip to Nara. The first two nights were at a Hotel near Nara Station, so for the final night we chose this place a little farther out—especially because it offered the rare experience of staying in a soy sauce brewery. It far exceeded our expectations. Right after arriving, we joined the soy sauce pressing experience and were immediately captivated by the owner’s talk. I was truly impressed by the story of how he revived soy sauce making from scratch after his grandfather had been forced to stop after the war. Dinner dishes made with this deeply meaningful soy sauce highlighted mostly home-grown vegetables and let each ingredient shine—everything was exceptional. Even dessert (I think it was crème brûlée?) used soy sauce, and it was genuinely delicious. The Hatsuse Room was also a comfortable, calming space where we could rest well. Not having a TV was actually great. The wooden bath was wonderful too. Breakfast—rice with raw egg, an egg with a white yolk (?), and fresh fried tofu with soy sauce—was simple but the best kind of feast. The staff kindly answered even my husband’s rather unreasonable (laughing) questions, and I admired their sincere hospitality. Visiting in midsummer was lovely, but next time I’d like to return to this Accommodation in another season.

This is a perfect Accommodation no matter when you visit. It was Kyoto in extreme heat, but thanks to your thoughtful care in many ways, we had a wonderful time. The pike conger is a must in this season; it is an additional-order dish, but highly recommended. We are planning to visit again in autumn.

We were satisfied with everything—the guest room, the private open-air bath, and the restaurant. The retro furnishings in the room were truly comforting, and we were impressed by the thoughtful care in the meals. We enjoyed a level of luxury that exceeded the price. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again. The Hotel staff were also wonderful. As I get older, I find peace in an Accommodation like this. I hadn’t had many chances to visit Chichibu before, but this was an excellent Hotel as a base for visiting Mitsumine Shrine, Chichibu Shrine, and Hodosan Shrine (the Chichibu Three Shrines pilgrimage), as well as sightseeing in Nagatoro. Its kaleidoscopic beauty resonates deeply in the heart. Exquisitely prepared with sincere care, the cuisine is truly delicious. A beautiful garden that reflects the seasons—so captivating you could gaze at it forever. Elegant summer décor that lets you fully experience Kyoto’s traditional culture. Hanging scrolls, ikebana, and a beautifully arranged Room down to every detail. The head chef, attendants, the young proprietress, and the proprietress herself offer warm, attentive hospitality with genuine grace. Thinking that all of this beauty is an expression of love for each guest fills me with freshness and gratitude. At Kikkawa, you can feel the refined spirit of Kyoto—an appreciation for making everyday life beautiful and joyful. It began as an Accommodation I hoped to stay at at least once in my life; before I knew it, this was my 11th visit. A superb culinary Ryokan I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who truly loves Kyoto.

It was an absolutely amazing stay. I was truly impressed by the outstanding, well-equipped Facility that anticipated every need. The staff were very considerate with the luggage we sent in advance, prepared a pool for the children, and even when an accident happened, their first words were to check on us. Talking with friends around the barbecue, setting off fireworks with the kids under the sunset sky, and looking up at the stars late at night—every moment became a wonderful memory. My only regret is that because it was so hot, we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor facilities outside the cottage, such as basketball and the trampoline. We will definitely visit again next year. The female staff member at reception during check-in impressed me with her proactive, exemplary hospitality. I stay at Hotels for a change of pace, and this Hotel made me feel at ease in every way—facilities, staff, and overall comfort—with no small discomforts. It was part of the Plan, but I gladly took them up on it and stayed for 24 hours. At reception, they said, “Please let us know if there is anything you need,” showing a positive attitude. At the restaurant as well: “Please relax and enjoy your stay.” They even asked, “Did you sleep well?” You don’t often hear that elsewhere. It had been a while since I stayed at a major international chain Hotel, and their training truly showed. The Room design is also charming. I can see why it’s popular with guests from both Japan and abroad.

Despite being located in a lively part of town, the property felt like a different world—wrapped in serene tranquility. The cool breeze drifting through the reed doors and the pleasantly textured ajiro weaving, which I experienced for the first time, deeply moved me as part of Japan’s beautiful “summer setting.” Listening to the gentle sound of the shishi-odoshi echoing through the impeccably kept garden and spending time in the dignified tea room were truly luxurious moments that soothed my soul. The food and drinks were also exceptional—everything felt wonderfully satisfying to all five senses. Thank you sincerely for your thoughtful touches throughout. It became a wonderful summer memory, and my first visit back to Kyoto in a while was made even more special.

This Accommodation has become more upscale in recent years and is now a bit of a splurge for me, so I visited this time to take advantage of a great deal. As always, the Onsen was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the Room was spacious and very comfortable. I was also happy that you remembered my various requests from previous stays. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality again—I’d love to visit again when I find another opportunity.

From the warm welcome to check-in, breakfast, and check-out, the service was truly pleasant at every moment. They even kept our stay history from four years ago, and I was genuinely impressed when they asked, “Would you like the same morning newspaper as last time?”—such thoughtful attention to detail. I also asked for photos many times, and every staff member kindly took them without hesitation. And the breakfast—what you expect from Brighton—was absolutely delicious and very satisfying! I understand renovations will be starting soon, and I’m truly looking forward to staying again at the newly refreshed Brighton Hotel.

We stayed here as a couple during the Obon holidays. Even though it was the hottest time of midsummer, Tenkawa Village was wonderfully cool—a top summer retreat in Kansai where we could stay comfortable without using the Room air conditioner and without breaking a sweat. We had long admired the charm of Dorogawa Onsen and had wanted to stay there at least once, and choosing Hanaya Tokubei was absolutely the right decision. The whole town has a lovely atmosphere, but Tokubei stands out for its especially distinctive and tasteful building. Because there are few guest Rooms with private indoor baths in the area, we stayed in “Higashi no Tenku” with an indoor bath. The view is mostly of the courtyard, so if you are used to resort-style Onsen facilities it may not exceed expectations. Still, considering this is traditionally an Accommodation used by ascetics, we felt it was a true luxury and enjoyed it. The meals were delicious Japanese cuisine featuring plenty of local ingredients, with thoughtful touches throughout that kept our Multiple Night Stay from ever feeling repetitive. We were completely full but couldn’t bear to leave anything behind—and finished every last bite. Spending time on the veranda at dusk with a beer in hand while watching people pass by was simply wonderful. After sunset, strolling around the area in yukata is also great fun. Wherever you walk, the lantern lights feel magical, and Tokubei lends out portable lanterns as well. It was like stepping back into a period drama. There were also foreign staff members, and they were genuinely kind and attentive—we truly appreciated it. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again. Highly recommended if you are sightseeing in Dorogawa Onsen.

Every staff member was attentive, the Hotel was spotless and dust-free, the Room air felt fresh and clean, and it was a quiet, comfortable space you wouldn’t expect in the city—an outstanding Hotel. Breakfast was also excellent: eel rice bowl, chirashi sushi, miso soup, melon, and more such as tsukudani and Toraya sweet bean paste—everything was thoughtfully selected down to the smallest details, so I could relax and enjoy it little by little. I’d love to stay again.

Thank you for your continued support. Staying at this Hotel is a special pleasure for us as a couple. In summer, we stay here after SUP in Zushi, and in winter, around our wedding anniversary. The location is incredibly convenient—close to Kamakura Station and just steps away whether you want to shop for souvenirs or buy freshly harvested vegetables at Renbai. The moment we step into the Hotel entrance, that distinctive scent brings us back, and it makes us smile. All the staff are kind and provide truly pleasant service. That’s why we never feel like trying another Hotel (laugh). We’ve already made our winter Reservation! Until then, we’ll keep working hard.

We stayed here for a birthday trip for my mother and our dog. The Facility and the food were excellent, but even more than that, every staff member we met was wonderful, and we were able to spend a truly comfortable time. What impressed us most was that all the staff remembered our dog’s name and greeted us using it. We will definitely stay again. Thank you very much.

It was hot in Kyoto, so I really appreciated how close it was to the station! The Room was clean and I was satisfied, and the staff were very kind, making my stay comfortable.

I was deeply relaxed in this luxurious space where I could feel Kyoto in every detail. The bath also had a genuine herbal soak, letting me enjoy a truly indulgent Onsen-like experience. The amenities were well stocked, and the futon and pillows were fluffy, so I slept soundly. It was a wonderful trip that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would definitely love to stay again. I stayed here with my child. The building blends beautifully into a quiet, peaceful town, and its wonderful atmosphere instantly soothed both body and mind after a long day of walking. With more newly opened Hotels in Hakone, we have stayed at several, but after visiting Hiramatsu again for the first time in a while, we truly rediscovered how comfortable it is. My mother and I enjoyed a relaxing, unhurried stay, and we were very satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the meals. We will definitely return. Thank you again for everything.

I’ve been wanting to visit in every season since my last stay, but our schedules never lined up, so we ended up returning in July again. The cedar-lined path from the Accommodation to Hakone Shrine felt cool and refreshing even under the strong sun, and we were lucky enough to hear the evening cicadas singing—reminding me once again how wonderful Hakone is. Even during dinner we could occasionally hear them; together with the thoughtfully prepared dishes with elegant seasoning and the recommended sake, it made for a truly luxurious time. The next day, after enjoying a healthy breakfast carefully prepared, we were kindly driven to Motohakone Port. From the deck of the pirate ship, we cruised while looking at Mt. Fuji and fully enjoying the cool breeze. We’ll be back again.
