Tsuchiya-tei: A nostalgic yet modern machiya accommodation where you can experience “everyday Kurashiki,” the way local townspeople lived and carried on life in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. Tsuchiya-tei once supported local healthcare as the Tsuchiya Internal Medicine Clinic during the Meiji period. The former clinic space now serves as reception for Tsuchiya-tei and as the shop for Miyake Shoten Café & Workshop. The property stretches 45 meters from south to north, from the main house to the storehouse, and accommodates up to three groups per day—each with its own private entrance.
