Historically, this area was part of the Fujiwara family's estate and was considered sacred ground where many monks offered daily prayers to the deity of Inari. The name "Bōzan" (Monk's Mountain) originates from this history, as explained by the priest of Fushimi Kamitaka Shrine nearby.Our accommodation is ideal for exploring Fushimi Inari Taisha's numerous otsuka (sacred mounds) and spiritual sites. It takes about 18 minutes on foot to reach Fushimi Inari Taisha via Takenoshita Path, a bamboo-lined trail inaccessible to cars. Along the way, you can visit famous power spots such as Fushimi Kamitaka Shrine, Kōbō Falls, Myōbūsha Shrine, and other mystical otsuka before arriving at the iconic Senbon Torii gates. From there, turning right leads you to Kumataka Shrine—Fushimi Inari Taisha’s top power spot—while turning left takes you in just one minute to Okusha Hohai-sho with its Omokaru Stone.
