A refined sukiya-style retreat nestled along a lush, verdant gorge. All buildings, including the guest rooms, face the Matsukawa Gorge—spring and summer bring fresh greenery to this “Accommodation in the gorge.” In autumn, it becomes a “healing hot spring” floating amid crimson mountains, and in winter, a “moment of tranquility” wrapped in white. In the first year of Ansei (1854), the founder of our Property, Iwakuniya Sobei, received permission from the magistrate's office to develop the area. He built a bridge over the Momiji River in front of the Property and established a teahouse by the stream as a resting place for travelers. This marked the beginning of "Miyajima no Yado Iwaso." Later, the bustling popularity continued, and the Property officially opened as a Ryokan in the early Meiji period. The main entrance building dates back to 1892 (Meiji 25), and the lobby was constructed during renovations in 1981 (Showa 56). Today, we draw natural Onsen, a rarity on the island, and offer accommodations in the main building, new building, and detached rooms. As a Ryokan nestled within a national park, we strive daily to ensure our guests can relax and enjoy their stay.

Gosenkaku Hotel Kamikochi, located at the foot of Kappa Bridge, a landmark of Kamikochi designated as a special protection area of the national park, is surrounded by rich nature. The sophisticated service in a homely atmosphere attracts repeat visitors.

Following the renovation of guest rooms and the restaurant in 2024, our accommodation has been highly praised by guests. Asahidake Onsen "Yumoto Yukomanso" is a Property located within Daisetsuzan National Park, where you can enjoy five natural hot spring sources and the great outdoors. Situated at Asahidake in the Daisetsuzan mountain range, Yukomanso is surrounded by majestic nature and beautiful alpine plants, beloved by many hikers. In spring, you can see budding plants amidst the lingering snow; in summer, vibrant alpine flowers in full bloom; in autumn, Japan's earliest autumn foliage; and in winter, the finest powder snow. The Onsen at Yukomanso has been continuously flowing since its discovery in 1914, providing over 300 liters of water per minute as its source. All five hot spring sources are natural free-flowing springs. Without any temperature adjustments, the spring water is directly channeled into the baths, allowing you to truly feel the blessings of nature. Water, air, Onsen... Our 8,000-tsubo garden, begun by my great-grandfather in the early Showa era, is surrounded by trees over 100 years old and is a celebrated spot in Otaru, with 200 cherry trees in full bloom in early May. From late May through June, wisteria trellises and azaleas follow, and in summer you can enjoy viburnum snowballs, hydrangeas, and carefully tended roses. I especially love the autumn foliage in late October, and the deep winter snow that transforms everything into a pure white landscape is equally refreshing for the soul.

A single accommodation, "Hotel Iya Onsen," is located on the cliffs of the Iya Valley. An open-air bath is situated at the bottom of the valley, approximately 170 meters down via cable car, where you can soak while enjoying the stunning views of the gorge. The beauty of the valley can also be admired from the guest rooms.

This Property is an Onsen inn located right in front of the Gozaisho Ropeway's base station in Yunoyama Onsen. Nestled in a mountain area surrounded by nature, it is conveniently accessible, being only about 10 minutes from the Shin-Meishin Expressway. The highlights of the inn are its seasonal creative Kaiseki cuisine and its open-air baths with stunning views. During the day, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Nagoya area from the open-air bath, and at night, the sparkling nightscape awaits you.
