Following the renovation of guest rooms and the restaurant in 2024, our accommodation has been highly praised by guests. Our signature onsen with natural hot spring water is available not only in the large public bath but also in every guest room. Dinner features a full-course French cuisine prepared by an experienced chef using seasonal ingredients from Shinshu, complemented by wines recommended by our sommelier. The hotel is located away from Kappa Bridge, offering a serene experience surrounded by nature. With over 100 years of history since its days as "Shimizuya Ryokan," where Walter Weston, the father of modern Japanese mountaineering, once stayed, we invite you to visit Kamikochi Lemeista Hotel at least once.

In the first year of Ansei (1854), the founder of our Property, Iwakuniya Sobei, received permission from the magistrate's office to develop the area. He built a bridge over the Momiji River in front of the Property and established a teahouse by the stream as a resting place for travelers. This marked the beginning of "Miyajima no Yado Iwaso." Later, the bustling popularity continued, and the Property officially opened as a Ryokan in the early Meiji period. The main entrance building dates back to 1892 (Meiji 25), and the lobby was constructed during renovations in 1981 (Showa 56). Today, we draw natural Onsen, a rarity on the island, and offer accommodations in the main building, new building, and detached rooms. As a Ryokan nestled within a national park, we strive daily to ensure our guests can relax and enjoy their stay.

A refined sukiya-style retreat nestled along a lush, verdant gorge. All buildings, including the guest rooms, face the Matsukawa Gorge—spring and summer bring fresh greenery to this “Accommodation in the gorge.” In autumn, it becomes a “healing hot spring” floating amid crimson mountains, and in winter, a “moment of tranquility” wrapped in white. Asahidake Onsen "Yumoto Yukomanso" is a Property located within Daisetsuzan National Park, where you can enjoy five natural hot spring sources and the great outdoors. Situated at Asahidake in the Daisetsuzan mountain range, Yukomanso is surrounded by majestic nature and beautiful alpine plants, beloved by many hikers. In spring, you can see budding plants amidst the lingering snow; in summer, vibrant alpine flowers in full bloom; in autumn, Japan's earliest autumn foliage; and in winter, the finest powder snow. The Onsen at Yukomanso has been continuously flowing since its discovery in 1914, providing over 300 liters of water per minute as its source. All five hot spring sources are natural free-flowing springs. A single accommodation, "Hotel Iya Onsen," is located on the cliffs of the Iya Valley. An open-air bath is situated at the bottom of the valley, approximately 170 meters down via cable car, where you can soak while enjoying the stunning views of the gorge.
