I was first impressed by the spacious layout, something you can only find in a Facility built in a more prosperous era. I headed straight to the bath—the water was quite hot, and since it’s a radium Onsen, my body stayed warm for a long time afterward. Before dinner, I was able to watch Netflix on the TV, so the time that I would usually spend feeling bored until dinner passed in a really meaningful way. Dinner also featured many Miyako specialties, and everything—from the soup to the tempura to the mixed rice—was served piping hot and was absolutely delicious. No matter which Kyukamura I stay at, the staff’s thoughtful yet unobtrusive hospitality always makes it very comfortable. Thank you very much.

This was my first visit to Sado Island, and I made a Reservation after reading the Reviews. The location was easy to find. The parking lot is down the alley next to the building. There was a large sign, so it was clear. The Room was especially great. The amenities were well stocked, the bed was very comfortable, and the pillow height was just right, so I slept soundly. I also used the bath three times. It was helpful to have a vending machine and coin laundry near the entrance to the changing area. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Sado.

Dinner enjoyed at a relaxed pace in our Room was delicious across the board, making for a truly restful time. In particular, the bath had a distinctive local charm, and being able to choose a yukata in your preferred style was a delightful touch. The staff’s attentive hospitality was also very pleasant, making our stay especially memorable. It was a wonderful Accommodation that we would love to visit again.

This was my second stay, and it was great again. The Room is functional, and the amenities—shampoo and conditioner included—smelled wonderful and left my hair feeling amazingly smooth. Of course, there’s such a wide variety of food that you can’t possibly try everything, but the shrimp tempura was perfectly fried—not overdone—and incredibly delicious. I could eat as much medium-fatty tuna as I wanted and was completely satisfied. Everything else, like the steak and seafood, was also excellent. But the best part, just like last time, was how pleasant all the staff are. The front desk team and the dining staff were all warm and welcoming, and it felt great to see how much they genuinely want guests to enjoy themselves—and how much they seem to enjoy their work too. That’s why it’s still so good!! I’d love to stay again.

I’m a Wakayama resident! I often stay at various Hotels in Shirahama. I knew the name, but wasn’t sure what it would be like… I was blown away! I regret not coming sooner. Amazing value for money, great food, and excellent hot spring quality! The bread was the best I’ve ever had. I definitely want to come back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed both the dinner and breakfast buffets. At dinner, the Shimane Wagyu roast beef and sweet shrimp were especially delicious. For breakfast, in addition to making our own seafood bowl, we also loved the Shimane Wagyu beef stew, which was hearty with plenty of meat. The garden was beautiful, and all the staff were kind and helpful. Thank you very much.

The Room was spacious and had a great ocean view. The meals were served in just the right portions, and every fish dish was delicious. Breakfast venues are often crowded, but here there was plenty of space, so we could dine comfortably in a relaxed, calm atmosphere. We would love to stay again.

This was my first stay. Women can choose from several colorful yukata, and dinner included Yamaguchi’s specialty, fugu tempura—beautifully presented, generous in portion, and excellent. The Onsen alternates between men and women, so we were able to use both baths. The Room was spacious enough for two people, allowing us to relax comfortably. The staff were also wonderfully attentive. I would like to stay again when I’m in the area. Thank you very much.

This was our first time staying at a Hotel affiliated with Ooedo Onsen! Due to our schedule, we checked in late and could only get a dinner Reservation for 8:30 PM, but we had plenty of fun in the meantime—playing table tennis as a family and enjoying the Onsen. The kids were thrilled! At night, we borrowed UNO and had a great time together. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent—the sushi and steak were amazing! Everyone went back for multiple bowls of seafood rice bowls in the morning. The Facility is a bit old, and the air conditioner was quite loud, but the overall enjoyment more than made up for it. The Room was very spacious too. We’d love to stay again!

Since we didn’t rent a car this time, we traveled by bus from Hakodate Station, but it was only a 3-minute walk from Tropical Botanical Garden-mae, so it wasn’t inconvenient at all. A friend said the interior and the Room were far better than you’d ever imagine from the exterior. I believe I made a Reservation for the cheapest Room type, but to my surprise we were upgraded to what seemed like one of the best Rooms. It was a wonderful, spacious Room with a very comfortable sofa where we could truly relax. If I have the chance to visit again, I’d like to make a Reservation for the best Type A Room. I was looking forward to enjoying sparkling wine in the lounge, Hakodate milk soft-serve ice cream, and Misuzu Coffee—and they even had watermelon as well, which made me really happy. The soft-serve was unbelievably delicious. I don’t usually drink coffee, but Misuzu Coffee is so good that I decided to have it while in Hakodate. Being able to enjoy it as many times as you like until 10:00 p.m. is much appreciated—though my friend mentioned that in the morning there was only Misuzu Coffee. The bath is available even late at night, which is also very helpful. Even if you fall asleep after dinner and drinks, it’s great to be able to wake up and take a bath during the night. Dinner was an omakase sushi course that included fugu tatsuta-age; between the tuna selections and seasonal sushi, everything was satisfying and enjoyable. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of options—I especially loved the soup curry. Overall, I think this is an excellent Accommodation with courteous front desk staff and a very positive impression. Just one thing: many Hotels these days provide deodorizing sprays, but I’m sensitive to fragrances—so I would prefer not having them in the Room or used during bed-making.

I really loved the open-air bath on the rooftop. The view was beautiful and it helped me unwind after the trip. The dinner buffet was delicious, and I ended up enjoying quite a few drinks. The next day, I played at the neighboring Cherry Golf Amakusa Course. It was a wonderful trip.

We stayed again this year, following our visit last year. While many nearby Ryokan have closed, this property has been renovated and reborn with excellent Facility—I felt it is the best in Yuhama. In particular, the Onsen was pure free-flowing hot spring water from the source, with no added water or heating, and it was wonderfully comfortable—I kept sweating for a while even after bathing. Since our Room had a splendid private free-flowing Onsen bath, we enjoyed it many times. Unfortunately, there was light rain and the sea was rough with whitecaps, so swimming was prohibited. However, we are not really at an age to play in the ocean anymore, so we enjoyed walking around the Hotel area instead. There were about ten cats nearby; they were friendly and fun to be around. They had ear marks indicating they had been spayed/neutered, so it seemed the town manages them well. It left us with a good impression of a town that cares for animals. Meals were different from last year: they served them efficiently with fewer staff in a spacious Room renovated from an annex building. The quality felt slightly below last year’s level, though that may simply be personal preference. It also made us feel how challenging operations can be after COVID. We were happy to have a chance to speak in the morning with refined people who seemed to be the proprietress and her son. We would like to visit KAMEYA again next year as well—a place proud of its 200-year history. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I chose this Accommodation because I was planning to stay near Cape Irago for a motorcycle event. As others have written, the food is unquestionably delicious and plentiful. I was especially satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the sashimi. They served many other dishes as well, but I still felt full from the Iekei ramen I had for lunch, so I couldn’t finish the simmered fish or the hot pot—and that was truly disappointing because everything tasted so good. Next time I stay, I think I should skip lunch. Since we were leaving early the next day, I couldn’t eat breakfast, which was a shame, but the rice balls they prepared for us were very tasty—so it made me think breakfast must have been great too... The bath was out of order, so we used a day-use bath at a Hotel about a 10-minute walk away. I was tired and would have preferred using the Accommodation’s bath, but the Hotel’s large public bath felt great as well, so overall it balanced out and I gave 4 stars. I heard our Room would be on the third floor and thought climbing stairs might be tough, but there was an elevator, which was reassuring. The Room being a Japanese-style room felt comfortable for me. The toilet and sink area seemed to have been renovated; they were bright and clean—and of course there was a washlet toilet seat. Since we’re coming from Kyushu, it’s not easy to visit without a motorcycle event, but if there’s another opportunity, I’d like to stay again.

We stayed for one night with breakfast and dinner included. We originally planned to stay with No Meals Included, but after reading the Reviews we changed to the two-meal plan. Just as the Reviews said, the crab, Korean dishes, and breakfast were all amazing. The portions were more than generous, everything was delicious, and we were very satisfied. The owner told us what time the sun would set, and we were able to watch it from a spot just a short walk from the Hotel. The washing area in the bath was tatami-matted, which felt surprisingly comfortable. The Hotel itself may be a bit old-fashioned, but our Room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Music that people in their 40s and 50s likely listened to when they were younger was playing throughout the building, which I personally really enjoyed as well. As mentioned in other Reviews, the owner was very friendly and easygoing, so we had a great time. Using points let us stay at a great price—excellent value for money. This is an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again with breakfast and dinner included when visiting Yamagata.

The Ryokan’s traditional atmosphere was wonderful, and because everything is compact and well organized, we were able to stay comfortably. Above all, the staff’s thoughtful and kind hospitality really came through, and our children liked it too. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

I had always wanted to visit Himi, but I struggled to find the perfect accommodation that matched my ideal. After extensive research, I discovered this wonderful accommodation. This small luxury retreat accommodates only two groups per day, but on the day of our stay, we were fortunate to have it all to ourselves. It felt like having a private villa—a truly luxurious experience. The meals exceeded all expectations. The creative dishes featuring Toyama's seafood were absolutely exquisite. What elevated this culinary experience even further was the sake pairing selected by the proprietress, who is a certified sake sommelier. Each pairing perfectly complemented each dish and brought out the full flavors of Toyama's seafood. Conversations with all the staff were also incredibly enjoyable. This is an accommodation that makes you want to return again and again. Wishing you continued success in your endeavors! Thank you very much!

We slept on futons in a Japanese-style Room, but it was a stylish space with a modern interior—natural and very clean. The balcony had a gently swaying chair, and there was art on the walls; everything felt really chic. We could also borrow yukata robes and geta sandals. The front desk staff were very kind and gave us clear guidance, including which Onsen baths tend to be crowded. It’s close to both Jizo-yu and Gosho-no-yu, with excellent access to the Onsen town—perfect for visiting multiple public baths. The ropeway and the Onsen town are right in front of you, so you won’t have any trouble finding souvenirs or places to eat. However, there are only a limited number of free parking spaces, and you need to drive along narrow streets crowded with tourists to reach the parking area, so driving can be challenging. We stayed during the Obon holiday period, so even the ropeway parking lot was full and we couldn’t park nearby. Next time, taking the train might be better. For breakfast, we chose a one-plate morning set at the attached café. The latte art looked great for photos, and the interior—with Western movie posters—felt like contemporary art throughout. We stayed as a couple (my husband in his 40s and me in my 30s), and it seems renovated with youthful taste in a Western style that would appeal to inbound international guests—more “JAPAN RYOKAN” than a traditional Ryokan—and we loved it. It felt like an Expo pavilion. Unless you have specific requirements such as needing a mattress bed or an elevator, it’s excellent value for couples. We’d love to come again—thank you very much.

An early Father’s Day gift: an Onsen trip! He was really happy to relax and take his time enjoying both the Onsen and the meals, and I was glad to see him so pleased.

Due to the bad weather, I think I got soaked in the rain and started feeling unwell after check-in. When I felt chills and asked the front desk for heating, they delivered a heater and a fan heater to my Room. They even set them up for me, which I truly appreciated. They also offered to bring rice porridge to my Room, but when I said I wanted to go to the restaurant, they kindly provided rice porridge specially at dinner. Everything was served with warm smiles, and it was very comforting. Thank you very much. The next day I recovered and was able to enjoy Picasso at the museum before heading home. (The free-flowing hot spring water was excellent.)

We stayed here for a family trip for the first time in a while. It was a wonderful Accommodation, just as friends had recommended if we were staying in Dogo. As many Reviews mention, the location is truly excellent. It’s close to Dogo Onsen Honkan, and it was an easy walk—enjoying shopping along the arcade—to Dogo Onsen Station and the Karakuri Clock. We had informed them in advance that we would use the parking lot, and upon arrival they kindly guided us there, which made it very easy to understand. Our Room was on the 7th floor with a great view over Dogo town; our son relaxed while looking out at the scenery the whole time. Thank you for arranging such a nice view. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and everything was delicious. A staff member in training quickly noticed and cleared empty plates, so even with four of us we could keep plenty of space on the table. We were especially happy to be able to try tai-meshi. The bath—praised by my family as well (“I’m glad you chose an Accommodation with an open-air bath!”)—was a comfortable size. The open-air bath felt wonderful with the night breeze; we could look up at the sky and unwind, which really eased our daily fatigue. In the morning there were fewer people as well, so we could soak slowly. The relaxation area prepared outside the bath (the water was delicious) also had chairs by the window with a panoramic view. It was great being able to enjoy both nighttime and morning views of Dogo. Before our stay I emailed some questions; they replied quickly and explained everything carefully, which helped us feel at ease. If I had one small suggestion, it would be that an exhaust fan in the toilet inside the guest Room would have been nice. Overall, everyone on staff was very pleasant and we were very satisfied. Our trip to Dogo Onsen became a wonderful memory thanks to choosing Chaharu. Thank you very much.
