It was my first time visiting Oki Island and trying glamping, and everything exceeded my expectations—it was truly an amazing experience. Enjoying a BBQ while watching the beautiful sunset was unforgettable, with melt-in-your-mouth Oki beef that had a rich flavor, large oysters raised in Oki, and exceptionally delicious onions from the region. In the morning, I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and waves crashing, cherishing the peaceful moment of sipping coffee while watching the sunrise. Although it was my first glamping experience, everything—from inside the tent to water facilities, showers, and toilets—was very clean and convenient. Even as someone who isn’t fond of camping, I found it incredibly comfortable. The staff were always smiling warmly when greeting us but maintained just the right amount of distance for a pleasant stay. Thanks to them, we enjoyed two very relaxing nights here. I would love to visit again!

I booked this the day before with breakfast and dinner included because the Accommodation I originally wanted was fully booked, and I wanted to watch the fireworks festival from Sakurajima. It was my first time on Sakurajima, and there’s an abandoned Hotel nearby—when I first drove past, I mistakenly passed by this place too (laugh). Check-in is normally from 3:00 PM, but since I arrived early, I called and was kindly told I could check in from 2:30 PM. After a short walk around the area, I checked in at 2:30 PM. I was also able to reserve the private bath for 3:30 PM, so I relaxed in my Room for a while. About the private bath: if you unlock the seaside door, it connects to the men’s open-air bath area. Also, it shares a wall with the men’s changing area with about a 10 cm gap at the top, so please be cautious about privacy. The Onsen water is extremely hot; there are instructions advising you to pour water over yourself with a bucket to get used to it before entering. Passing beyond both the men’s and women’s baths and heading outside down a short slope, there is also a mixed-gender bath located about 1 meter from the sea. Meals are not served in-room; breakfast and dinner are served at a dining venue past the front desk, and both were very delicious. The Room is a Japanese-style tatami room with futon bedding. The in-room bath is an old-style light-blue unit tub of about 1.2 m square. The toilet feels like a Western-style seat added onto an original squat toilet setup, so it’s quite small. The balcony offers stunning views of Kinko Bay, but due to volcanic ash and being close to the sea, railings and other metal parts are quite rusty. Still, considering how thoughtful the staff were as well as the price overall, I think it’s a very good Hotel. By noon that day when I went to scout Sakurajima Lava Nagisa Park and Yunohira Observatory Deck, many spots were already being held with sheets and camera tripods—so after dinner we drove to the Sakurajima Ferry parking lot, parked there, walked to the pier area instead, sat comfortably at our own pace while watching fireworks—and we were very satisfied.

We chose to spend my husband’s birthday relaxing at an Onsen Accommodation and stayed at Satsuki. All the staff were kind, and the interior was lovely, with a wonderful blend of renovated areas and original features. The Onsen truly felt like a moisturizing lotion and was incredibly soothing. The meals were outstanding, thoughtfully incorporating local ingredients, and we were completely satisfied. We also appreciated being able to enjoy plenty of my husband’s favorite beer. They even prepared a birthday-style dessert for him. Breakfast was excellent as well. We would love to visit again with our children. Thank you very much!

For a Room of this grade with an open-air bath and two meals included at this price, I personally have no complaints. If I had to mention one drawback, I could hear conversations from the neighboring Room quite clearly.

The nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere was wonderful, and I was able to relax. The surrounding streetscape also had a lot of charm. It was a shame that my schedule didn’t allow me to have any meals. I gave it 4 stars because the hallway was dark, and I wish there had been a fan in the changing room.

I made the reservation because my 3-year-old child loves trains, and the idea of being able to see the Kominato Railway up close was very appealing. My child was thrilled, and we had a memorable summer vacation. For those considering staying here, I’ve summarized the pros and cons below. 【Pros】 - You can see the Kominato Railway from a very close distance - A barbecue grill is provided (*bring your own charcoal and fire starters) - The house is very spacious and clean - About a 10-minute drive to Zō no Kuni (Elephant Kingdom) - A 2–3 minute walk to Seven-Eleven convenience store - Plenty of air conditioners installed throughout the house - Equipped with a projector and large TV screen - As it’s a rental villa, there’s also a rice cooker and microwave available - Toilets and showers are available on both floors 【Cons】 - The staff at reception (possibly foreign?) spoke limited Japanese - There were many insects like spiders or grasshoppers outside (*we saw some inside as well) - Most nearby shops are closed on weekdays - The road leading to the accommodation is narrow, which might be intimidating for larger vehicles My family was deeply impressed by how well this traditional house has been maintained, and we could feel the owner’s attention to detail everywhere. There were also delicious restaurants nearby, so we’d love to stay here again!

On this occasion, we stayed here to celebrate our grandchild’s 20th birthday. The moment we opened the Room door, the two of us were amazed—it was a surprising maisonette-style Room. And then another surprise: we were astonished and truly moved by the towel art. It was a truly wonderful Room. Everything was wonderful, and the staff’s service was excellent as well. We are planning to stay again next year with our daughter and our grandchild’s family. Thank you very much.

I booked a plan that included dinner. The room was just the right size for spending time with my family. The shower room in the room felt a bit small, but there were no issues using it. Dinner was excellent, with plenty of seafood to enjoy. There was so much food that we couldn't finish it all... We felt sorry about that. Overall, we were very satisfied. Thank you very much!

We stayed here the night before a mountain hike. The place was very spacious, and the amenities were well stocked. There was also a convenience store just a short walk away, which was reassuring.

This time, my husband and I stayed at the property during our trip to Fukui. The stays were beautiful, and the room was spacious and clean with 12 tatami mats. It was very convenient as the dining area and bath were close to the room. Dinner was filling! It was delicious and very satisfying. The tempura was freshly fried, crispy, and delicious! The white rice was also tasty. Although the bath was not a natural onsen, my husband said it was good, and I was satisfied too. We were able to view the supermoon from the pot bath, which was moving! Breakfast was also filling. It was delicious. When we talked about going to "Eiheiji" at checkout, they kindly suggested trying "sauce katsudon and oroshi soba" and even saw us off outside. We had those two for lunch. Eiheiji was absolutely wonderful! Thanks to you, we had an enjoyable trip. We will use your services again. Thank you very much!

The room was of good quality for the price.

The dinner course is exceptional and worth the trip on its own. A perfect balance of authentic Japanese cuisine and French dishes alternates beautifully, creating an outstanding dining experience. Additionally, the female staff are incredibly hardworking, the Onsen is excellent, and being located over 1500m above sea level makes it a perfect summer retreat. Despite the Facility being older, it is clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The Onsen was truly amazing as well. Shiga Kogen offers plenty of summer activities, and consulting with the Hotel staff provides a wide range of options to enjoy. It was a fantastic experience overall.

We stayed here last year, and our child kept saying they wanted to come back, so we decided to stay again this year. The location and the cuteness of the room are great, but above all, the staff always leave a very good impression with their thorough training. There are many activities that children enjoy such as roasting marshmallows over a campfire, fireworks, swings, and playing in the sand at the beach. It's an ideal place for families. The sea in February was also beautiful and we took many great photos. We had our meal at a sushi stall after a short walk; not only was it delicious but we also got to see the sunset perfectly which became an amazing experience for our child. I think it's a wonderful property that can be enjoyed all year round even if it's not high season. It feels like we've added another important place for our family memories. On the day of our stay this time, there was a male staff member who kindly supported us with various things; my child said they want to meet him again! Thank you very much for everything. Our family took a 1-night, 2-day trip to the Shakotan Peninsula in Hokkaido with one main goal: to enjoy great seafood. Lately, rather than a luxury Ryokan with extensive facilities, we’ve been drawn to food-focused Ryokan that truly take their cuisine seriously—and for this trip, our only criterion was simply “we want to eat really delicious seafood.” In that sense, Oyado Shinsei exceeded our expectations. Dinner featured an overwhelming number of dishes and seafood—far more than we could finish. The boat platter was spectacular, with uni and ikura in small bowls, line-caught tuna, hoya (sea squirt), botan shrimp, and more. The flavor was clearly on another level from the sashimi we usually eat. Our whole family kept saying “This is delicious” again and again as we enjoyed it. We were so focused on eating at dinner that we didn’t take any photos, but there were also grilled fish caught that morning, fried items, a rockfish hot pot (soi nabe), and more—each dish genuinely tasty from start to finish without ever feeling repetitive. Breakfast was just as satisfying: a small bowl of uni, sashimi, simmered fish, local delicacies, handmade sesame tofu (goma-dofu), and miso soup made with freshly harvested wakame—everything paired perfectly with rice. The portions were generous, yet it was so good that we finished it all. (I’ve attached a photo of breakfast.) The Accommodation is kept very clean—from the Room to the shared sinks and toilets—making it comfortable throughout our stay. The cypress bath is compact but gentle on the skin and wonderfully warming (we were told it’s not an Onsen, but it was more than satisfying). The staff seemed to be mainly family-run; everyone was friendly and kind with thoughtful attention to detail. We felt comfortable the entire time—it’s an Accommodation that gives you a reassuring “back home” feeling. Given the quality of the meals offered here at this price point, I found it extremely reasonable. We stayed during Golden Week this time, but I’d love to return in another season to enjoy different flavors of Shakotan again.

We stayed with our dog. Despite the unfortunate weather, we were able to create wonderful memories. The Wi-Fi signal was a bit unstable in the bathroom and at the back of the loft, which was slightly concerning.
