The ocean view that greeted us the moment we entered the Room, the stylish background music, and every flower and decorative touch were wonderful. Unfortunately, we had strong winds and rain, but spending a relaxing, luxurious time in such a lovely Room was the best. Also, having the chef cook right in front of us became an unforgettable memory for our children as well, even though they were a little nervous. We would love to come back to enjoy the different views in summer, autumn, and winter from this beautiful Room. All of the staff were very kind. Thank you for taking such great care of us.

Although it is an old accommodation, it was clean and comfortable to stay in. The room does not have a toilet or refrigerator, but they are conveniently located nearby outside the room. From the window of the room, there is a balcony-like area where you can enjoy views of trees, the murmuring river, and a glimpse of Oushuku town's scenery, which was very soothing. I would love to visit again in autumn.

The meals are incredibly delicious. We had a course dinner, and it was served at the perfect timing without any wait. There was an explanation of the dishes, and the portions were more than expected, so we were very satisfied. The wine recommended to us matched the food well, and we ended up finishing a full bottle and even ordering additional glasses of wine. Breakfast was also served at the right time with warm dishes, and everything was delicious. Among them, the seafood marinade and scrambled eggs were particularly delicious. The room was in the annex, very clean, quiet, with a great view, and spacious enough for a couple. The amenities were well-prepared, and we were satisfied, and the staff's service was excellent, making us want to visit again. We didn't use the bath as we went to a nearby onsen, so it wasn't a perfect score, but the nearby onsen was also good. It is a property that I highly recommend to many people and definitely want them to visit.

We stayed in a detached Room and were able to relax while enjoying the beautiful garden. The bath in the Room was also very pleasant, as we could open the window and enjoy the fresh air. All of the staff were very professional, and the welcoming, home-like atmosphere made our stay very comfortable.

The Room is clean and spacious, very satisfying. The service was decent; the man in the morning wasn't very friendly but not unpleasant either. The price is relatively affordable for the island, making it a good choice. However, in my case, while the Wi-Fi worked in the lobby, it disconnected when I went to my Room, and even after asking the staff, it couldn't be fixed. Still, it's a good HOTEL.

Weekday stay for a family of four in two rooms. The room was spacious and clean for two people. Dinner was luxurious, with enough sashimi to fill you up—highly recommended for seafood lovers. Other dishes like sukiyaki, soup, and chawanmushi were also very delicious. The staff provided friendly and attentive service with smiles, though having a menu would have been nice. For the bath, caution is needed as the large public bath's tub can be slippery. The outdoor bath was slightly lukewarm. Access to the rooftop open-air bath requires calling the front desk beforehand, so it’s best to make an early reservation as late-night or early-morning visits might inconvenience the staff (I regret not asking if multiple time slots could be reserved). However, if it's clear, you can enjoy stunning views of sunsets or starry skies from there—it’s refreshing! I’d love to stay again if I get another chance. Thank you!

I visited in search of an Onsen that is not chlorinated and does not use circulation. As expected, there was no chlorine smell, and the water was gentle and very satisfying. The meals were carefully prepared and truly delicious—I left completely full. The building is old, which can’t be helped, but the excellent hot spring water and food more than made up for it, so overall I was very satisfied. One episode that left a strong impression: After checkout, the attendant came to see us off at the entrance. After saying goodbye, we headed to the parking lot a short distance away (it took us some time to finish packing). When we later drove past the entrance, we realized she had been waiting in the heat just to see us off! She kindly stayed until the very end, and I was deeply touched by her warm hospitality. Thank you for taking such good care of us. We truly appreciate it. I would love to visit again.

I stayed at Mikaku no Accommodation Yamadaya on the second day of my solo trip to Tottori. The place is a bit old, but it was very calm and relaxing, and I was able to take it easy. Since I had crab on the first day, I chose the shabu-shabu course. The portion was so generous that I couldn’t finish it all by myself and ended up leaving some behind—I’m truly sorry about that. Still, it was delicious and I was very satisfied. I don’t usually like ponzu sauce, but the ponzu served with this shabu-shabu was surprisingly easy to enjoy. The thoughtful care as I was leaving also meant a lot. I’d like to stay here again when I come back to Tottori. Thank you very much.

We stayed here after descending from Mt. Naeba. Thank you for allowing us to park our car from the morning and for serving us dinner even though we arrived late. Although I am a local of Niigata, the dishes, such as Kanto-style kenchin soup and grilled sweetfish, were different from the traditional Uonuma style but deeply satisfying and nourishing after the hike. The warm bath was incredibly relaxing, and we rested soundly afterward. The three of us stayed in a spacious room that felt like a training camp atmosphere, making it very comfortable. Breakfast was just the right amount, and with a later check-out time, we fully enjoyed Naeba's refreshing morning air. We will definitely stay again if we climb nearby mountains in the future. My first trip to Oki Islands. The weather was perfectly clear that day, and the sea was sparkling. From the Room, the ocean stretched out right before my eyes, and the early-morning view—before the morning light fully reached—felt truly magical. Both dinner and breakfast were carefully prepared, bringing out the natural flavors of the ingredients, and everything was delicious. My child was amazed at how good Oki rock oysters were, saying they are the best in Japan. The grilled fish at breakfast was also outstanding. Thank you as well for kindly accommodating my request regarding foods I cannot eat. If it weren’t for a small bug in the Room—and if the bath were an Onsen—it would be a perfect Accommodation. I was also happy to receive such warm and wonderful words from the male staff member I spoke with at check-out. A once-in-a-lifetime encounter—a truly lovely meeting. Thank you very much for taking care of us. Please take care of yourselves during this extremely hot summer following this intense heatwave.

This trip was partly to revisit Toyama, where I lived for about six months during my first year as a new employee some 30 years ago, and I was truly comforted by this Ryokan’s subtle yet warm hospitality. *My single-person dorm was in Toyama City, and I remember going to Aeon in Takaoka (was it Warner Mycal back then?) to watch a movie. The meals were delicious—I finished the entire rice tub (enough for about 2–3 bowls) and ended up drinking two bottles of beer as well. I was initially concerned about the shared refrigerator and planned not to use it when I made the Reservation, but since the system lets you write your Room number on a sticky note, I felt comfortable using it. To give an honest Review: I did wish the bath were a bit larger, but it was very clean and relaxing. It rained the next morning, but the location is excellent—you can stop by Kawanoeki Shinminato, Kaiwomaru Park, and the famous roadside station Amaharashi Coast (Michi-no-Eki), and still easily drop in at Himi Fish Market Cafeteria. To be frank, I expected to stay here simply because it was inexpensive; however, compared with an Accommodation in Fukui where things only looked good on the surface without matching reality (where I stayed the next day), this Ryokan’s strengths stood out even more. In any case, highly recommended.

We stayed here before hiking Mt. Kuromidake on Yakushima. Dinner was delicious and plentiful, so we could get proper nutrition before the hike and felt great the next day. They kindly replaced breakfast with a packed lunch, which was very helpful. The hostess was gentle and comforting, and we also enjoyed watching people SUP on the Abo River outside the window. My first trip to Kozushima and my first stay at a minshuku. (Solo traveler) First of all, I highly recommend staying at Kikuno-ya! A parade of kindness and hospitality! I confidently recommend this place to anyone reading this review! Not only did they provide shuttle service to the port, but they also drove me to the trailhead for hiking (and even explained part of the return route along the way) and took me around various spots for stargazing photography. Time flew by because it was so much fun! The room was spacious and lovely, but before I knew it, it was already 10 PM! The shared bathroom and toilet were very clean. With features like a veranda and a tiled bath, it felt like staying in Mei's house from Totoro—a dream come true! Dinner is luxurious, so make sure you come with an empty stomach! This review has gotten long because there’s so much I want to recommend, but in short: highly recommended! I’ll definitely visit again!

I recently traveled to Hakone. I was unsure which Hotel or Ryokan to choose, but I decided on Mitake-san because they offered in-room dining that looked delicious in the photos and had a private open-air bath option. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by adorable cats and kind staff, and the food was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a wonderful and happy two days in Hakone. I hope to visit again within this year!

It was my first time staying here, and it was an unforgettable two-day getaway with a true seaside resort vibe.

A quiet port town accommodation located at the southern tip of Shimoshima, Amakusa. This time, I stayed with no meals included, but the location is known for its fresh seafood. There is also a famous sunset spot nearby where you might be lucky enough to see the sun setting over the horizon. The building shows its age, but features like the tiled bath give it a nostalgic charm. The staff were very kind and made my stay comfortable and pleasant.

Thanks to researching and comparing many Hotels in Izu, we were able to find an Accommodation with wonderful hospitality. Both the meals and the Room exceeded our expectations, and we had a truly great time. Also, since we love music too, we ended up having an impromptu jam session with the owner—guitar, singing, and sanshin. It was far beyond anything we expected and incredibly fun! We think it’s a one-of-a-kind experience unique to this Accommodation.
