I made a direct Reservation and had a very pleasant stay with kind, attentive service. I was surprised by how steep the hill is, but the Onsen is free-flowing from the source and left my skin feeling silky smooth, and the meals were carefully prepared, lightly seasoned, and delicious. I’d love to come again.

I stayed on a one-night, two-day Plan with breakfast included. The property may not be new, but it was very clean and well maintained. The Room was spacious, and the large windows made it feel open and airy, which I really liked. Of course, the Onsen was also very relaxing. Breakfast was delicious, and I would like to stay again if I have the chance.

Although I arrived about 40 minutes later than my 21:00 check-in Reservation, I was warmly welcomed and was able to use the bath until 22:00. The breakfast was also very delicious. I will definitely use this place again when visiting Mitoyo City. Thank you very much!

We stayed here after descending from Mt. Naeba. Thank you for allowing us to park our car from the morning and for serving us dinner even though we arrived late. Although I am a local of Niigata, the dishes, such as Kanto-style kenchin soup and grilled sweetfish, were different from the traditional Uonuma style but deeply satisfying and nourishing after the hike. The warm bath was incredibly relaxing, and we rested soundly afterward. The three of us stayed in a spacious room that felt like a training camp atmosphere, making it very comfortable. Breakfast was just the right amount, and with a later check-out time, we fully enjoyed Naeba's refreshing morning air. We will definitely stay again if we climb nearby mountains in the future. This trip was partly to revisit Toyama, where I lived for about six months during my first year as a new employee some 30 years ago, and I was truly comforted by this Ryokan’s subtle yet warm hospitality. *My single-person dorm was in Toyama City, and I remember going to Aeon in Takaoka (was it Warner Mycal back then?) to watch a movie. The meals were delicious—I finished the entire rice tub (enough for about 2–3 bowls) and ended up drinking two bottles of beer as well. I was initially concerned about the shared refrigerator and planned not to use it when I made the Reservation, but since the system lets you write your Room number on a sticky note, I felt comfortable using it. To give an honest Review: I did wish the bath were a bit larger, but it was very clean and relaxing. It rained the next morning, but the location is excellent—you can stop by Kawanoeki Shinminato, Kaiwomaru Park, and the famous roadside station Amaharashi Coast (Michi-no-Eki), and still easily drop in at Himi Fish Market Cafeteria. To be frank, I expected to stay here simply because it was inexpensive; however, compared with an Accommodation in Fukui where things only looked good on the surface without matching reality (where I stayed the next day), this Ryokan’s strengths stood out even more. In any case, highly recommended.

We stayed here before hiking Mt. Kuromidake on Yakushima. Dinner was delicious and plentiful, so we could get proper nutrition before the hike and felt great the next day. They kindly replaced breakfast with a packed lunch, which was very helpful. The hostess was gentle and comforting, and we also enjoyed watching people SUP on the Abo River outside the window. My first time in Minami-Izu—summer vacation at Yumigahama I stayed for two nights at this long-established Accommodation with over 50 years of history, and it turned into the best summer vacation ever. I’m truly grateful. This Accommodation is genuinely wonderful. The quality of the Japanese cuisine, finished by a head chef with an outstanding background, is simply breathtaking—in the best way. Honestly, it’s better than many high-end restaurants! The bath can also be reserved for private use free of charge, which is fantastic. Spacious and spotless, and you can use it anytime 24 hours a day. Above all, what makes this Accommodation truly exceptional is the care, presence, and almost unbelievable hospitality of the staff—led by the proprietress. Everyone is so kind, and it’s incredibly comfortable to be here. It brought back childhood memories of staying at my grandmother’s house during summer vacation… something I naturally remembered again as an adult. There’s something here that no great Hotel or Ryokan can replicate. It’s rare to find an experience where you can relax from the bottom of your heart like this. Next time I’ll visit during the Kawazu cherry blossoms and nanohana season!!

The bath with smooth Onsen water was excellent. The food was also very delicious.

My friend and I stayed for one night. Our check-in ended up being quite late at 8:30 PM, but the staff were very courteous and helpful. The retro furnishings felt wonderfully nostalgic. They also lent us a basket bag and geta sandals—perfect for visiting the public baths in yukata. It was my first time in Kinosaki Onsen, and I’d love to visit again with my friend. My first trip to Kozushima and my first stay at a minshuku. (Solo traveler) First of all, I highly recommend staying at Kikuno-ya! A parade of kindness and hospitality! I confidently recommend this place to anyone reading this review! Not only did they provide shuttle service to the port, but they also drove me to the trailhead for hiking (and even explained part of the return route along the way) and took me around various spots for stargazing photography. Time flew by because it was so much fun! The room was spacious and lovely, but before I knew it, it was already 10 PM! The shared bathroom and toilet were very clean. With features like a veranda and a tiled bath, it felt like staying in Mei's house from Totoro—a dream come true! Dinner is luxurious, so make sure you come with an empty stomach! This review has gotten long because there’s so much I want to recommend, but in short: highly recommended! I’ll definitely visit again!

Is the Accommodation named Ryugu Palace, with Otohime as the first-floor restaurant, and are guests treated like Urashima Taro? Otohime’s meals were delicious, and nearby there are: Hamburg Club within walking distance Cafe Daibosatsu Pass a few minutes away by car Both are fascinating places—I feel like I could end up eating about five meals a day.

It had been a while since I stayed at an Accommodation with meals included, and I was thrilled that dinner came with an impressive sashimi boat platter. The meal focused on seafood dishes and was very delicious. A private dining room was prepared for us, so we were able to spend a very relaxing time. The bath was not crowded either, and we could enjoy it privately at our own pace. The sea is also close by—an excellent location.

A quiet port town accommodation located at the southern tip of Shimoshima, Amakusa. This time, I stayed with no meals included, but the location is known for its fresh seafood. There is also a famous sunset spot nearby where you might be lucky enough to see the sun setting over the horizon. The building shows its age, but features like the tiled bath give it a nostalgic charm. The staff were very kind and made my stay comfortable and pleasant.

We stayed at THE ROOF TOP for three nights at the end of July. We considered several other Accommodations, but decided based on the photos and Reviews. Just as shown in the photos and Reviews, it had a wonderful view and atmosphere. Above all, the owner couple and all the staff were kind and incredibly warm. It was only a short stay, but it truly refreshed both our mind and body. Amami Oshima was amazing.

I was truly impressed by the building and the Room, crafted with the skills of local artisans and made using local materials. The food was also extremely satisfying. I could really feel the care and thought put into every detail. There are many places with delicious food, but it’s rare to find a meal that conveys such genuine consideration for the guest—I was deeply moved for the first time in a long while. Your warm hospitality made my heart feel at ease. I would love to visit again.

There is plenty of space for one person to stay. Personally, I found the bed mattress and pillow very soft and fluffy, which was really comfortable. The bed area also had enough height that I didn’t have to worry about hitting my head when sitting up. Outside the bed area, the floor is the same as outside the Room, so changing clothes was a bit inconvenient. Items in the Room: a tabletop mirror, hair dryer (SALONIA), cup, tissues, towel(s), and power outlets in two places (at the desk and by the pillow). *Things you should bring (recommended)* [Toothbrush, hairbrush, hair iron/straightener, charger, skincare such as lotion] I wished there were a kettle, but I assume that’s part of why it’s affordable. Nearby are izakaya pubs and a convenience store a short walk away. There aren’t any large chain restaurants or supermarkets nearby. Since there happened to be no other guests during my stay, I was able to use the shared toilet, shower room, and sink without any inconvenience or security concerns. However, noise may carry depending on timing. The staff were polite and friendly as well.

This is a historic, long-established Onsen Ryokan, but the baths and Rooms have been renovated, so we were able to relax comfortably. The meals were also delicious, enjoyed while appreciating both mountain and seafood specialties. I would definitely like to stay here again if I have the chance.

The day before, we stayed in Takamatsu and traveled for about 5 hours, so we were a bit tired and couldn't visit the lighthouse on the Sadamisaki Peninsula. We stayed as a family of three with my wife and child. We were warmly welcomed by the young hostess and the hostess, who guided us to our room. The room featuring Ebisu holding up a sea bream was very clean, with every corner thoroughly cleaned. The bath was spacious and allowed for a relaxing soak. In the evening, we were greeted by Kintaro the cat before dinner. The Ise lobster served at dinner was incredibly sweet, and we also enjoyed fresh sashimi caught using single-line fishing methods—it was delicious! Everyone was satisfied with the beautifully presented dishes served in exquisite tableware. Breakfast surprised us as it came in an elegant multi-tiered box; it had so many items that it felt like another dinner! We left completely full. On our way back, we stopped at JA's direct sales store in Iyo to purchase 10kg of early-season mikan at a great price. We definitely want to stay here again next time! We're also considering traveling via Kumamoto or taking the ferry route from Saganoseki.

We stayed here during the fireworks festival in a Room with a fireworks view. I wasn’t sure about the location at first, but we were able to watch the fireworks perfectly from our Room. The Ryokan itself is quite old, but it has been nicely renovated—especially around the bathrooms—so it was very comfortable. The meals were generous and we were very satisfied, and the staff’s service was excellent. With only seven Rooms in total, it’s a small Ryokan, so we didn’t run into other guests in the bath and enjoyed plenty of privacy.

The Facilities are old, but that adds a retro charm and makes you feel like you’ve come back to your family home in the countryside... The bath is quite hot—probably around 45°C—but there’s a hose on the faucet so you can cool it down before getting in. The meals had a nostalgic taste, featuring plenty of mountain vegetables. It feels like an Accommodation for adults. There is a public bathhouse right in front, where you can enjoy various types of baths. The parking lot is next door and easy to use. If you make a Reservation the day before, you can buy croissants as a souvenir at checkout. They’re extremely delicious and perfect as a snack while sightseeing at Okama and other spots. I will stay here again.
