After reading the Reviews, I wasn’t sure whether to choose the Main Building or the West Building, but I’m glad I chose the Main Building because getting to the baths and meals was smooth and convenient. The Room has been renovated, and it was great that the toilet is separate. The soundproofing is also solid, and everything feels clean. Even during Obon, we were able to have breakfast without any waiting time. You can also check how crowded it is from your Room—this really is a wonderful long-established Hotel. I appreciate all the efforts being made here, and I would love to stay again.

I recommended this Hotel for a business trip stay. Although we made a Reservation for a single, it seems we were upgraded to a twin Room, which was greatly appreciated. Since my colleague stayed at the same Hotel, we were able to hold meetings in the spacious Room, which was very helpful. The breakfast is excellent, so I advised going early; it seems the front desk mentioned this as well. Because it’s popular and gets crowded, going early was the right choice. A park with an ocean view is also just a short walk away, making a morning stroll very pleasant, and I will definitely choose this Hotel again next time. This time we were able to stay within budget and are very satisfied. Thank you very much.

This is our fourth year staying here. We stay here every summer on our family trip. It’s a Hotel that perfectly embodies the “Welcome home” concept, and each year we truly feel like we’re coming back home when we stay. Our children also love everyone at the Hotel, and we are always comforted by your thoughtful attention to detail and warm smiles. The meals are also delicious—our kids, who usually don’t eat much, ate so much that even we were surprised. In our first year, the main purpose of our trip was going to the beach, but now staying at Powell has become the reason for our visit. Next year, as our children move up a grade, how we spend summer vacation may change and we might not be able to come in summer. Even so, I’m sure we’ll visit again even if it’s in a different season. Thanks to everyone at Powell, it was a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

Every year during the Obon holiday season, I stay here to avoid the crowds. It feels like there are more tourists each year, but it still never feels crowded, and I love being able to relax and fully enjoy nature. This year, a typhoon caused a power outage across the entire area on our first day, and the electricity went out around 7:00 PM right at dinnertime. It was inconvenient in many ways, but the meal was still lavish and delicious, and during the outage we managed with other guests using our phone lights. However, it wasn’t just that we couldn’t use electricity—there was no air conditioning, running water, or even toilets available until power was restored at 11:00 PM, which honestly made us anxious. Even so, the staff repeatedly brought us drinking water and even offered Shuttle Service by car to nearby restrooms in a small pocket park so we wouldn’t feel uneasy. Their warm support truly meant a lot to us. After the power came back on—even though it was late at night—they came to inspect the open-air bath in our Room as well. Thanks to that, we could relax with peace of mind in the Onsen and go to sleep feeling refreshed. Because they have their own private hot spring source, hot water pours into the in-room open-air bath with incredible force nonstop. I couldn’t help asking, “Is it really okay to let it run this much?!”—and they told me this is one of Tomiya’s proud features. We gratefully enjoyed the open-air bath many times and my skin felt wonderfully smooth. When you stay two nights, the menu changes as well—and everything is so luxurious you can hardly finish it all. Between the food and especially the warm hospitality from everyone on staff, we had another wonderful two-night stay. Because there aren’t many tourist attractions nearby, you can enjoy a truly luxurious trip focused on rest and refreshment without being rushed from place to place. Thank you again for such a lovely time this year. We’ll be back again next year.

With its simple design and calming atmosphere, this Accommodation is recommended for restoring both body and mind. In particular, the Japanese and herbal tea lounge on the 8th floor lets you blend Japanese tea with herbal ingredients yourself, place them into a tea bag, and enjoy a wellness tea while relaxing music plays—an experience that left us fully satisfied.

It was my first time using this Facility, so my expectations were mixed, but the view from the hilltop was amazing. My Room was on the 2nd floor of the main building, and unfortunately a large tree blocked the view from the balcony. However, I later learned that the 2nd floor has smoking-allowed Rooms, and they said they would consider it if I requested an upper floor. Both dinner and breakfast were extremely satisfying. The female staff member was also very pleasant; her name tag said “Densuke,” so I asked if she was from Densuke Chaya in Atami—and she said yes. That explained why the food was so wonderful. There were so many dishes that I had to give up on the kamameshi. I used to stay at other Hotels in Ito, but from now on I’d like to stay here.

It was great that we could use the bath anytime. The open-air bath uses natural hot spring water, and the temperature was very hot, but it left my skin feeling smooth. The Room was also very spacious. There were power outlets next to the bed, which was a nice touch. However, the air conditioner vent was directly overhead, so it felt cold. The dining venue was very large, so even with many guests it didn’t feel too crowded. There was a wide variety of dishes and free drinks, so we were very satisfied. All of the desserts were especially delicious.

This is our favorite Accommodation, which we visit as a family about twice a year. The sunset views from the Room and the Onsen are wonderful, and above all, the meals are generous in portion and delicious! Some parts of the Facility show their age, but that also creates a warm, relaxing atmosphere. We highly recommend this Accommodation.

We stayed here with four generations of our family, including our elderly parents. The Room was spacious and very relaxing. Our grandchild loved the kids’ room and played to their heart’s content. The open-air bath in the sky had an amazing view and was wonderful. All the staff were kind, making it a great Accommodation. Thank you very much.

Since we didn’t rent a car this time, we traveled by bus from Hakodate Station, but it was only a 3-minute walk from Tropical Botanical Garden-mae, so it wasn’t inconvenient at all. A friend said the interior and the Room were far better than you’d ever imagine from the exterior. I believe I made a Reservation for the cheapest Room type, but to my surprise we were upgraded to what seemed like one of the best Rooms. It was a wonderful, spacious Room with a very comfortable sofa where we could truly relax. If I have the chance to visit again, I’d like to make a Reservation for the best Type A Room. I was looking forward to enjoying sparkling wine in the lounge, Hakodate milk soft-serve ice cream, and Misuzu Coffee—and they even had watermelon as well, which made me really happy. The soft-serve was unbelievably delicious. I don’t usually drink coffee, but Misuzu Coffee is so good that I decided to have it while in Hakodate. Being able to enjoy it as many times as you like until 10:00 p.m. is much appreciated—though my friend mentioned that in the morning there was only Misuzu Coffee. The bath is available even late at night, which is also very helpful. Even if you fall asleep after dinner and drinks, it’s great to be able to wake up and take a bath during the night. Dinner was an omakase sushi course that included fugu tatsuta-age; between the tuna selections and seasonal sushi, everything was satisfying and enjoyable. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of options—I especially loved the soup curry. Overall, I think this is an excellent Accommodation with courteous front desk staff and a very positive impression. Just one thing: many Hotels these days provide deodorizing sprays, but I’m sensitive to fragrances—so I would prefer not having them in the Room or used during bed-making.

We visited as a couple to relax and enjoy the Onsen at a leisurely pace. It’s less than a 10-minute walk from the station to the Accommodation. You can request pick-up, but we chose to walk and soak in the atmosphere. The Room was spacious enough for two, and you can enjoy views including the sea through the large window. The in-room Onsen bath was more than sufficient, but we also reserved a private bath so we could have a large Onsen all to ourselves. It happened to be firefly-viewing season, so we enjoyed it with Shuttle Service included. The meals were incredibly delicious—an extensive menu centered on seafood, vegetables, and mountain produce. The sashimi was outstanding, and breakfast deserves special mention: miso soup made with broth from the spiny lobster shells from dinner and black rice were exceptional. This is a small Accommodation with attentive staff—perfect for enjoying the Onsen, nearby walks, and great food. We had a truly luxurious one-night stay. P.S. For those considering staying: due to structural reasons, loud noises in neighboring Rooms can be heard, and any loud noise you make will likely carry as well. If that doesn’t bother you, you’ll be able to enjoy a relaxing stay in a quiet environment away from tourist areas with few people around.

Recent accommodations often focus on being "Instagrammable," looking great in photos but sometimes falling short in reality. However, this accommodation, while the building itself shows signs of aging, is impeccably clean and offers a very comfortable stay. The bath includes a private open-air hot spring with flowing water, offering breathtaking views of the vast ocean from a scenic cape. During my stay, it was a full moon, and I enjoyed an unforgettable moment under the moonlight accompanied by the sounds of nature. Meals are seafood-focused! Breakfast features marinated tuna rice bowls. The half-buffet style allows you to adjust portions to your appetite. Even the pickles reflect the chef's dedication to quality—everything was absolutely delicious. The evening stargazing session was unexpectedly enjoyable with detailed explanations provided by staff. The staff members were incredibly kind and attentive, making every aspect of my stay satisfying. Thanks to their support, I managed to visit Nachi Taisha Shrine and Nachi Falls despite having limited time. Thank you very much! This accommodation is highly recommended for those who value authenticity over superficial appeal.

The breakfast was really delicious, It’s an easy walk into town for shopping, The Room was clean, though it might feel a bit small. Still, it’s a great Hotel and we had a wonderful stay. We’ll come again.

This is my favorite Ryokan in Izu Kogen. It was my first stay in a while. This time, my eldest daughter—who usually works extremely hard as a nurse—was able to take an unusual long weekend and said she wanted to celebrate my birthday, so we decided to stay here. There are nine private baths, each with a different style. My daughter was thrilled and kept saying, “I’m going to try them all!” At dinner, the kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) I specially requested was huge, and she happily said, “Dad, this fish is delicious!” She smiled the entire trip. The one who felt most healed by this relaxing getaway was me—the father. The staff’s service was truly top-notch, and our stay was very comfortable. I’d love to visit again. Next time, I’ll probably get scolded if I don’t bring my younger daughter too.

This time I booked a No Meals Included plan, so I can’t comment on the food, but the service (front desk and parking staff) was excellent and made my stay very pleasant. The Facility was also very well maintained for the price, and I was satisfied. There is a large public bath as well, which was perfect for me since I’m not a fan of unit baths. The location and adjacent parking were convenient too, and when I visit Toyama again, this Hotel will be the first one I look up.

This time, on my first visit to Beppu during Golden Week, I stayed in a non-smoking twin Room under the Standard Plan. The hotel is conveniently located near Beppu Station, with easy access. I arrived early due to my flight schedule, and it was a great place to leave my luggage and go sightseeing. On top of that, our Room was upgraded to a family Room! The two of us enjoyed the luxury of using a four-person Room. Both the property and the Room were kept very clean, and we were able to relax after sightseeing and drinks. The next morning the weather was bad so we couldn’t see the sunrise, but we fully enjoyed the bath and even the after-bath services. I’d definitely like to stay here again on my next trip back to Oita.

My family of three stayed in Sansuikaku’s Japanese-Western Room E. Since the Accommodation is located at the foot of a mountain, there are significant elevation changes throughout the property, including the parking area. They provided a Shuttle Service between the parking area and the Accommodation. The Room was new, and both the view and the open-air bath were wonderful. I also liked that the door closes slowly on its own. I felt so happy relaxing with a cup of coffee. The private open-air bath was clean and very nice as well. Dinner at the dining venue was delicious. The beef and matcha shiruko were especially good—I ate too much. Breakfast felt light, perhaps because it was summer; I wouldn’t have minded something a bit more classic. All staff members were pleasant, but after checkout I felt slightly rushed during the Shuttle Service to the parking area (perhaps they wanted to combine rides with other guests). We did want to leave promptly as well, so I would have appreciated being asked, “We can take you right now—what would you prefer?” As an aside, after returning home I learned that my favorite celebrity had stayed here too, which made it feel even more special. Thank you very much for taking care of us!

Overall, I was satisfied.\n\nThe only thing that concerned me was that, although my check-in wasn’t particularly late, the futons had already been laid out in the Room.\nIn the hot summer season—especially in Shimanto, where you may have been playing in the river or at the sea (or even if not)—you’re likely to be sweaty. It was a bit disappointing having to be careful not to step on the futons no matter what I did. Of course, if check-in is late, I understand it makes sense for efficiency for the staff who prepare them. Since dinner time is specifically confirmed at check-in, I would have preferred if they could lay them out while we were having dinner.\n\nThe meals, the Onsen, and the Room were all relaxing and very enjoyable.

This time I wanted to try fishing at Kesennuma Port, so I stayed at this Accommodation because it’s close to the fishing spots. It’s located on a hill right in front of the port, with a great view. From the main entrance you can overlook all of Kesennuma Port, and it was such a refreshing place. What’s more, thanks to the very unique elevator tower, it was super convenient—I could get to the fish market on ground level in just 2–3 minutes. The building itself feels a bit retro and has a Showa-era vibe, so it may not be for everyone, but I found it very comfortable. What really impressed me was the night view of Kesennuma Port—and the sea urchin and hoya! The scenery completely changes from daytime; with the illumination it felt almost like a theme park. I was truly moved. I also enjoyed night fishing while taking in the lights—please do see it in person if you can. And the dinner served this time—sea urchin on its shell and hoya sashimi—was incredible. The sea urchin I had before at a Hotel in Minamisanriku was delicious too, but Kesennuma’s sea urchin is no joke! It had rich sweetness and umami and tasted amazing. The hoya sashimi may have been the best I’ve ever had. The ocean aroma and perfectly firm texture were irresistible for anyone who loves hoya. All staff were polite and very pleasant. Some seemed new, but their sincerity came through, and it made me feel this is a well-run Hotel. I suppose there’s no helping that some Facility areas are a bit old, but even taking that into account, I’d definitely like to stay again.
