An Onsen property embraced by the magnificent nature of Hokkaido, offering relaxation for both body and mind. During the seasons of fresh greenery and autumn leaves, you can enjoy beautiful scenery. Shihoro Onsen Plaza Ryokufu is famous for its unique brown "moor spring" water, rich in plant-based organic matter, which has a high moisturizing effect on the skin, leaving it smooth and supple after bathing. You can spend your time focusing on beauty and health. For dinner, we offer a yakiniku course featuring local specialty brand beef [Shihoro Beef] as the main dish. The meat used is lean with little fat content, tender and juicy; the more you chew, the more umami spreads throughout your mouth. Enjoy a liberating moment with panoramic views of magnificent nature.
Umegashima Onsen is said to have been discovered by a woodcutter approximately 1,700 years ago during the reign of Emperor Ōjin (270 AD). However, it became well-known as a hot spring retreat during the era of Takeda Shingen. Baikunro, established in the early Meiji period (140 years ago), has a history of over 300 years when including its former Edo-era name, "Eijuken." Until 1955, when the exclusive rights to use the Onsen were returned to Shizuoka City, Umegashima Onsen was solely operated by Baikunro. Even today, Baikunro remains the most historic and largest Ryokan in Umegashima Onsen.
