The Room was more spacious than I expected, which made it easy to organize my luggage. I stayed here to visit the Nikka Yoichi Distillery, and it was very close—both the station and the bus stop were right in front of the property, which was very convenient. From Otaru, there is only about one bus per hour and only around two trains per hour, and there aren’t many places to spend time while waiting, so I recommend planning your transportation schedule in advance.

As the shower is shared, it’s reasonable for the price. The view from the window was nice as well, so I had a pleasant stay. There was also a convenience store within walking distance, so the location is good enough. The only downside is that the place is a bit hard to find.

I stayed for two nights. It was a shared dormitory Room, but it was relatively spacious and more than adequate. The common areas were clean and tidy, and I was satisfied with them as well. I deducted one star because I happened to encounter an eccentric guest, but otherwise it was a very satisfying stay. I’d like to stay again!

Now that our kids have grown up and no longer spend their summer vacation tied up with sports clubs and team activities, three families were able to get together for the first time in eight years. Considering the extreme heat and our age, we gave up on tent camping and chose an easy, comfortable stay in a lodge. Since it looked like it might rain, the Accommodation staff secured a BBQ area for us in advance, and we really appreciated how they also accommodated a sudden increase in our group size. We were also grateful that we could dispose of the BBQ trash. The bath water is brownish with an iron scent. It warms you up wonderfully. Maybe thanks to the Onsen, my makeup went on better the next morning. It would have been even better if bathing hours were available until 11:00 p.m. The three horses were friendly and adorable. When we petted them around the neck, they leaned into us, which made them even more lovable. The staff were very kind, and we had a great trip.

It’s probably an old Hotel, but the Room was clean and comfortable to stay in. At checkout, I accidentally left the key in the Room, but the staff kindly helped me—thank you!! Being able to take a morning walk to the castle ruins also became a great travel memory.

It would be even better if there were a large public bath. A unit bath is a bit… But it’s been helpful.

After getting off the expressway and driving through town, we arrived while watching people fishing for ayu in the Oi River flowing alongside the road. At reception, we paid the Accommodation Tax and the dog fee in cash, then moved to our Room. The owner kindly explained how to use everything in detail. It’s a small but beautifully renovated riverside one-story private rental house, and this time we chose the bring-your-own-ingredients BBQ plan. The Accommodation also has a resident Shiba Inu “greeter” and a gorgeous cat who welcomed us—the cat even walked with us to our door. The kitchen was fully equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, rice cooker, electric kettle, dishes, pots, and cutlery, so all we needed to bring were seasonings and ingredients. For dogs, they provided a crate, toilet tray, pee pads, deodorizing spray, lint roller (sticky cleaner), and water bowl—so as long as you bring food for your dog(s), you’re all set. You can park right in front of the house, which made unloading luggage easy. We changed into swimsuits and headed to the river right in front of the Room with our two dogs. The high that day was 26°C (30°C in Osaka), so it felt a bit chilly for swimming; our dogs started shivering so we went back inside pretty quickly. We’d love to try again next year. In the evening we had a BBQ in the garden. The staff handled both lighting the fire and cleaning up afterward, which was very reassuring. There aren’t any tourist spots or shops nearby around this Accommodation, but it’s quiet with no traffic—just relaxing sounds of the river and evening cicadas. Thank you very much! The price is affordable, and I think the Facility is good. It was also nice that tea, coffee, etc. were available in the shared space. The road leading in from the main street is quite steep, so it may be a bit difficult for larger vehicles. However, it was a great location with an ocean view. I would like to stay again next time.

I made the reservation because my 3-year-old child loves trains, and the idea of being able to see the Kominato Railway up close was very appealing. My child was thrilled, and we had a memorable summer vacation. For those considering staying here, I’ve summarized the pros and cons below. 【Pros】 - You can see the Kominato Railway from a very close distance - A barbecue grill is provided (*bring your own charcoal and fire starters) - The house is very spacious and clean - About a 10-minute drive to Zō no Kuni (Elephant Kingdom) - A 2–3 minute walk to Seven-Eleven convenience store - Plenty of air conditioners installed throughout the house - Equipped with a projector and large TV screen - As it’s a rental villa, there’s also a rice cooker and microwave available - Toilets and showers are available on both floors 【Cons】 - The staff at reception (possibly foreign?) spoke limited Japanese - There were many insects like spiders or grasshoppers outside (*we saw some inside as well) - Most nearby shops are closed on weekdays - The road leading to the accommodation is narrow, which might be intimidating for larger vehicles My family was deeply impressed by how well this traditional house has been maintained, and we could feel the owner’s attention to detail everywhere. There were also delicious restaurants nearby, so we’d love to stay here again!

This was my second stay, and once again I was very satisfied with both the generous portions and the delicious food. There were so many kinds of salad at dinner, both in variety and quantity—even the owner said he wasn’t sure how many there were. The salad alone can fill you up, but the bread was also excellent, and the hamburger steak was wonderfully meaty—very satisfying. The Onsen is a private bath. It’s close to the source spring, with a strong sulfur smell, and iron tends to oxidize. The temperature is just right, so you can soak slowly and relax. That said, the Facility is a bit old (the owner even joked it’s like a haunted house...), so it depends on whether it feels worth it for the price. For the Eco Plan, be sure to prepare properly yourself—bring changes of clothes, trash bags, etc. Once you get used to it, you won’t mind how old things are; it actually feels quite comfortable. After checking in and leaving my luggage, I returned from shopping and opened the curtains, only to find a building wall right in front of me—I couldn’t see outside or the sky at all, and it felt like a storage room. Since I was staying for three nights, I didn’t like that, so I called the front desk to request a Room change. They responded immediately and moved me to a Room where I could see outside and the sky, which was a relief. The next day when I came back from going out, it felt unsettling as if someone had been in the Room. When I checked, only the towels had been replaced and the trash removed—so it was clear staff had entered—but there was no proper bed-making; the pillows were just stacked, and my pajamas were still on the floor. It made me very uncomfortable. I told the front desk but received only a brief apology. Apparently I should have put up “Do Not Disturb” on the door, but I wish they provided cards such as “No Cleaning” or “Do Not Enter.” Breakfast changed slightly each morning with different side dishes; there was just the right amount of salad and other items—not too much or too little—and it tasted better than at similar hotels. For this rate with breakfast included, it felt like good value. The Room was compact but comfortable enough to relax with a double bed. Although I had some complaints, overall my stay was comfortable, and I would like to use this Hotel again when visiting Osaka.

One of the accommodations I use when I stay in Tokyo for business. The breakfast service is just right and I appreciate it. Also, perhaps due to the location, I see many foreign tourists. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, making it a nice hotel.

I stayed at APA Hotel for the first time. The twin beds were each about the size of a semi-double, allowing for a comfortable and relaxing sleep.

I’ve stayed at many Hotels while touring, and I highly recommend this Hotel. Motorcycles can be parked free of charge under a roof on the property behind the Hotel. I stayed on the 11th floor and had a panoramic view of Sakurajima from the window, and the room rate was very affordable. Both the rooms and common areas have been renovated and are very clean. I got a blister on my heel and asked the front desk for a bandage; they were very kind and helpful. I’m planning to use this Hotel as my base for touring all around Kagoshima again soon.

The bath and meals were excellent, but dinner is scheduled quite early. The only start times were 5:30 pm or 6:00 pm, and we were strongly pushed toward 5:30 pm. If we had known from the beginning that dinner would start at those times, we would have planned lunch accordingly. Since we ate a late lunch, we asked for a later time, but it wasn’t possible. At breakfast, while some guests were still eating, staff asked if anyone wanted more rice and then quickly began clearing the tables. We like to relax when traveling, so the rushed pace stood out. Aside from that, the food was delicious, the staff were all kind, and the location in the center of the Onsen town was great.

The Room felt a bit old, but it was sufficient for just sleeping during a touring trip. Above all, I met three front desk staff members, and their service was excellent. When I called in advance to inform them that we would be arriving with two motorcycles, they reserved a covered parking space for us. Upon arrival, even before getting off the bikes, they came out to the parking lot and promptly guided us to our parking spots. I forgot something at the property, but they called me immediately and sent it to my home the day after I returned. I would love to stay here again when visiting Nagano.

About a 3-minute walk from Tsurumi Station, with many supermarkets, shops, and eateries along the way to the Hotel. There is also a convenience store next door, which is very convenient. The complimentary breakfast is Japanese on Sundays, but on Saturday morning when I stayed it was bread. The bread was said to be from a bakery owned by someone the president knows; there were many varieties and it was very delicious. It didn’t feel like typical complimentary breakfast bread at all. The woman who looked after us was also very attentive, so you can start the day in a great mood.

Family glamping trip. A sudden downpour started in the evening, and the dome began leaking. When we spoke to the staff, they immediately moved us from the dome to a villa Room. We really appreciated their quick response. The open-air bath attached to the villa also helped soothe our tired bodies. All of the staff were kind, and their smiles made this a relaxing trip. It became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much!

We stopped by on our way back from Nara Kenko Land. So we didn’t use the bath, but when we took a quick look, it seemed like a perfect size for three family members. As for meals, we went to a nearby yakitori restaurant for dinner so I can’t comment on that, but breakfast was delicious! Even though it was a last-minute stay, I was happy that dessert included Kyoho grapes. For our child, the dessert was Kyoho grapes and peaches. It was a tasty, home-style breakfast. The futon bedding was also fluffy and very comfortable. The Facility is old, but if that doesn’t bother you, it’s fine. I couldn’t figure out where the refrigerator was—was there one? Overall, we were satisfied. Thank you very much.
