A relaxing trip for a couple in our 50s. The bath was very pleasant, and the complimentary Yakult after bathing was excellent. The meals were generous, and the eel kamameshi at the end was delicious. If it weren’t for the loud noise from the in-room refrigerator and the extremely loud motorcycles at night, we think this would be an outstanding Accommodation.

I visited with a friend who loves traveling. This was my third stay, and as always, the food was excellent, and the Onsen was amazing. My friend, visiting for the first time, also enjoyed it and went to the bath twice. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My spouse and I stayed with our dog. There are only four Rooms where you can stay with a dog; the rest seem to be standard guest Rooms. The Room was properly cleaned and very tidy, with no pet odor. There is a large public bath on the 3rd floor and an observation bath on the 9th floor. The water was a little hot, but it felt wonderful—I used them five times in total. The meals were very delicious and generous in portion size, and I couldn’t finish all the rice, so they made it into rice balls for me, which I enjoyed later at night. All of the staff were very kind, and everything truly felt pleasant. I would definitely like to stay here again.

We stayed at this Accommodation after several days of hiking. The building feels a bit old, but it is in a quiet location, the Room was clean, and the amenities were well stocked. The baths were especially nice, with multiple tubs and soft, pleasant water. Dinner was generous, and with rice we were completely full. If possible, it would be nice to have explanations of the dishes or a menu. It’s an Accommodation we would like to stay at again.

I’d been wanting to visit for a long time, and I treated myself to a Multiple Night Stay solo to truly relax. I’m so glad I chose this place! I’ve stayed at many Hotels and Ryokans in Japan and abroad, and this has become one of my top three favorites. Everything used throughout the Hotel is carefully selected and meticulously maintained. The staff were warm and kind in such a natural way—it was genuinely soothing. And the food—absolutely unforgettable! I had all three meals here, and if only I had another stomach, I would have loved to try even more from the menu. There were plenty of fresh local vegetables; everything was truly delicious, beautifully presented with great taste, and above all, you could feel the chef’s love in every dish. It makes perfect sense that so many guests return again and again. It was hot in midsummer, but I rented an e-bike, rode to the beach, and went for a swim. Just as rumored, the water was crystal clear—the beach was stunning—and it left me feeling completely refreshed. I will definitely come back in another season. This was my first time visiting Zao Onsen. After considering several Onsen Accommodations, I chose a smaller Accommodation where I could truly relax. As I headed from Kaminoyama toward Zao, the temperature dropped, and after riding my motorcycle in the intense heat, the cool breeze felt wonderful. The Accommodation is an older building, but it was filled with many charming decorations that made me feel warm inside. The indoor Onsen was artificial, but it was pleasant and available 24 hours a day. Outside, in a separate building, there was a free-flowing hot spring bath fed directly from the source; it was strongly acidic and at a comfortable temperature, making it very enjoyable. Dinner dishes were all carefully prepared and included many local specialties from Yamagata Prefecture. It was great that each dish came with an explanation when served. The steamed dish in particular was outstanding. Breakfast also offered a wide variety of items, and I was very satisfied. All of the staff were kind and greeted us properly—I could really feel their hospitality. This is an Accommodation I would like to visit again.

I couldn't have breakfast due to my early departure, but I appreciated the nutritional drink and nougat provided.

I found Sugatani Onsen while looking for an Accommodation where I could stay with my pet, without knowing the name beforehand. It was very comfortable. I brought pet pads, but if possible, I would like you to provide some spares. There is no need to lay out the futon during meals; I worry my dog might bark, so it makes me more concerned. The air conditioner noise felt a little loud. The meals were very delicious. It is a quiet location away from the crowds.

I stayed here for my younger sister’s birthday. The beef in the kaiseki course with Shinshu Premium Beef was very tender, and even when it cooled down, it didn’t feel heavy or greasy—absolutely delicious. All the other dishes were also excellent, and we were very satisfied. Perhaps because I mentioned the birthday in advance, we also received a surprise gift, which made us very happy. The Onsen was wonderful too, and my sister said it was a shame we only managed to use it twice. From the warm welcome on arrival to being seen off at departure, it felt heartfelt all the way through—not just a quick goodbye at the front desk. Thank you very much.

The room, with its white-based design and high ceiling, felt clean and relaxing with heated wooden flooring. The semi-open-air bath in the room was spacious, filled with plenty of silky smooth water. Having a water dispenser was also very convenient. Both dinner and breakfast were not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making the experience truly delightful. The staff showed great care and attention to my elderly mother, allowing us to enjoy our stay with peace of mind. Thank you very much!

As a Business Hotel, I didn't have high expectations, but the single room was spacious, with a simple table and chair setup that allowed for some work. The ample legroom made for a comfortable stay. The breakfast, as rumored, was abundant in variety and quantity, providing satisfaction beyond what you'd expect at this price.

Return Visit Stayed for two nights a few years ago and was amazed by how incredible the Moor Onsen was. They even had our past stay history on record, which really showed their professionalism. At the time, we were a bit bothered by some odors in the Room and Onsen, so we “cheated” for a while with a newer Accommodation nearby (laugh). This time, we made a Reservation for a newly renovated Room. Bottom line: it was excellent! I’m not really into saunas, but I enjoyed it because you can adjust the temperature in various ways and even listen to music. There were plenty of towels, and bathrobes were provided as well. The only downside was that the open-air bath was slightly too hot. The food was delicious, and the service was flawless. If they renovate more guest rooms, we will definitely stay again.

The natural Onsen was very clean, with an alkaline spring quality that felt silky-smooth and wonderfully soothing. I used it three times. Since I could check availability, I was able to enjoy it privately without sharing with others.

Perfect for a family of four! The views are spectacular—no doubt about it! The owner is a true gentleman—no doubt about it! As others have mentioned, the Room has a stylish scent (maybe from an air freshener?), and some guests may feel differently about it. Sing karaoke, dance, enjoy the Onsen, have a BBQ, take in the night view and the morning view—and check-out is at 13:00. We had a wonderful time!

I stayed here a few years ago and was very satisfied with the comfort and convenient location, so I chose to stay again for this trip to Kyoto. Just like last time, the staff’s hospitality, the spacious Room, and the cleanliness were all excellent. I would love to stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto. To escape the Tokyo heat, I visited Oku-Nikko again this year. With concerns about bears, I chose this Hotel because both the open-air bath and the guest rooms felt safe and reassuring. It was my first stay in several years, and perhaps due to the renovation, the room, baths, and lounge were all very clean, making for a comfortable Hotel stay. The meals were delicious; if I had to mention one thing, I would have appreciated a Japanese-style option on the second night of my two-night stay. I would definitely like to stay again.

I was truly overwhelmed by the many wonderful paintings displayed throughout the property. The collection of rare vintage wines in the cellar—such as aged Romanée-Conti and Château Margaux—was also very impressive. After dinner, I took a walk through the garden and returned to my Room, only to realize my smartphone was missing, so I hurriedly consulted the front desk. Even though it was late at night, the staff worked hard to search for it, including in the restaurant that had already closed and deep into the garden. In the end, they also advised me to use my Apple Watch’s location feature, and we were able to safely find it where it had fallen into a gap between chairs in the entrance area. I sincerely appreciate all of your staff for their quick thinking and kind, warm support. It was a truly wonderful stay.

We stayed for two nights in late August on a family trip. On the first night, I became unwell (likely heat exhaustion due to Kyoto’s climate and lack of sleep), and you kindly adjusted how dinner was served. You also prepared an ice pack and cold water, and all the staff offered warm words afterward as well—I truly caused you a lot of trouble. The next day we returned to the Accommodation early after sightseeing, but housekeeping was completed quickly and the Room was restored to a comfortable state. Our child had brought a favorite stuffed toy, and seeing it seated on the sofa warmed our hearts. I was also impressed that all staff had shared information such as my avoiding caffeine and our child’s preferences, and handled everything so naturally with thoughtful care. The timing of your check-ins and sense of distance were just right, and we experienced truly wonderful hospitality. We used the Room as a family of three (our child is in 6th grade), and it felt neither too large nor too small. Having a bath in the Room was especially nice because we could use it whenever we wanted. The water temperature was set to 41°C, which feels hot in summer, but we could adjust it by adding water. The changing area had floor heating, which helped prevent us from getting too chilled after bathing. Towels and water were replenished as well, so even if we sweated after bathing, it was great to be able to use clean towels and clothes. Also, there was a lovely fragrance the moment we entered the Room, with incense throughout the building—these scent touches made everything feel special and out of the ordinary. Every meal was truly delicious. Our child has many dislikes when it comes to seafood, but you accommodated this thoughtfully; plus, both days’ menus were different so we could enjoy variety. In particular, the charcoal-grilled style dishes along with Anto-jiru soup, takikomi gohan (seasoned rice), and Wakan 18 tea were excellent—our child loved them too. Breakfast also came with many rice accompaniments that were all delicious. The soups and dashi-based dishes especially felt very “Kyoto,” which we appreciated. Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took care of us during our stay. We made wonderful memories in Kyoto thanks to you. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again as a family.
