True to its name, “Ouchi Hotel” feels like a mix between a home and a Hotel—in simple terms, it’s a private rental. Since I only needed a place to sleep, I was fully satisfied. There is also a bed in the loft and you can sleep there, but the air conditioner doesn’t reach it and it gets quite hot, so sleeping there may be difficult.

I was a bit nervous at first, but they returned my inquiry and I was able to stay with peace of mind. If there had been pajamas (loungewear) and a body-washing sponge, it would have felt almost the same as a typical Hotel. In fact, with the spacious layout, separate bath and toilet, and the ability to do laundry and simple cooking (having a full set of dishes was a big plus), I even thought this option was better if the price is the same.

It feels newly built, and both the building and the Room are very clean. The front desk staff were extremely courteous, and I had a comfortable stay. There is also a large discount store nearby, so even though there aren’t any restaurants in the immediate area, it wasn’t much of an inconvenience. However, since there is no bathtub and only a shower, it may feel a bit lacking in winter. Also, I stayed for two consecutive weeks, and it was disappointing that several drinks in the vending machine were not restocked. Still, aside from those two points, this Hotel is one I would personally like to stay at again.

The Room was correctly Simplified Luxury.

Just a 10-second walk from Exit 4 of Hosui Susukino Station. An excellent Hotel with unbeatable access. I stayed here during a concert trip and was so impressed that I plan to stay again when I visit Hokkaido.

Although it’s in a lively area, it was quiet and very nice.

Although it was a bit far from the station, being adjacent to AEON made it very convenient for shopping for necessities. The slot for the room key was on the headboard of the bed, so it took some effort to find it in the dark. The room had an air purifier and ample space for PC work, so I was mostly satisfied.

I stayed here to catch the Isaribi Railway in the morning. This clean and convenient Business Hotel is just a 3-minute walk from Kikonai Station and also has a large public bath—an essential place to have. I will stay again. Next time, I’d like to stop by the roadside station as well.

I stayed for one night starting September 28. Since the accommodation offered rental bicycles, I walked from Karuizawa Station to the accommodation (about 10 minutes), left my luggage at the front desk, and rented a bicycle to go out. (The cost was 1,650 yen per day or 2,450 yen for an electric bike as I recall.) Renting a bicycle directly from the hotel made it very convenient as I didn’t have to walk back after returning it. Although the building felt a bit old, the room seemed renovated with new tatami mats and comfortable beds. It was refreshing to see beds placed on tatami mats, allowing me to relax both on the bed and on the tatami floor. I also felt secure placing my luggage directly on the tatami mats. Complimentary bottled water (one per person) and apple snacks were provided in the room. At reception, items like stick coffee packets, facial cleansers, and lotions were available for individual pickup. As there was no private bath in my room, I used the public bathhouse instead. The bathhouse was equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body soap—offered in about three varieties—which were quite sufficient. However, having makeup remover would have been even better. There were only two hair dryers available in total; they lacked power so drying long hair might take some time. A water dispenser was also provided near the bath area which allowed me to rehydrate after bathing—a nice touch. Breakfast included medicinal porridge dishes along with pork miso soup (tonjiru), grilled salmon, and various side dishes—all of which were satisfying! For those who don’t prefer porridge though white rice substitutions are possible upon request; coffee too could be self-served freely during breakfast hours! Overall experience staying here proved pleasant & enjoyable enough that I'd certainly consider returning again someday!

Because of the unique container Room concept, you can stay at any R9 with confidence knowing the quality is consistently reliable. Aside from the difference between twin and double, the layout and in-room amenities feel standardized. There is also physical distance between neighboring Rooms, so noise is not an issue. The Room lock here was a key card type, though some locations use a PIN code system. There aren’t many restaurants nearby at this location, but there’s a supermarket just a few minutes’ walk away that sells deli items and boxed meals, which is very convenient. If there’s one thing I find disappointing about R9, it’s the complimentary frozen light meal (one per night). Among the options, the curry rice never heats properly in the microwave. The rice gets piping hot, but the curry stays cold and slightly icy. I’ve tried it at four different R9 locations and it was always the same—I ended up mixing them together to even out the temperature before eating. Safer choices are yaki udon or fried rice. Honestly, that’s about all I can complain about—personally I really like R9 overall. If you’re hesitant because it’s a container Room, I’d definitely recommend trying it at least once.

The building, Room, and Facility, including the water facilities, were very clean as it has only been a few years since opening. We enjoyed the curry (hashed beef rice) service during dinner; it was very delicious. The amenities and items available for rental at the front desk (such as shoe dryers) were excellent. Conveniently located near Gotemba Interchange, and the staff at both the front desk and restaurant were all kind. We would love to stay here again!

Overall, it was very good. However, please note that parking is first-come, first-served and you may end up parking far from your Room. The coin laundry is closed from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. These were the two things that caused me a bit of trouble this time. I used it for work, so I checked in early and didn’t return until after 11:00 p.m. Since it closes at midnight, I couldn’t do my laundry. My car was also parked in the farthest spot. The Room and the bed were very good. It was also nice to receive a frozen bento meal—you can eat it whenever you like. Having a microwave in each Room is very convenient!

I occasionally use R9. It’s a great way to keep costs down—especially the humidifier during the dry season. In hot weather I bring a cooler box, so I particularly like having a refrigerator that can freeze ice packs. The other amenities are more than sufficient, and the value for money is excellent. It’s also nice that the air conditioner is sometimes turned on in advance during summer heat. I’d like to stay again. If I had one complaint, it would be the complimentary frozen meals—I’d appreciate it if the seasoning could be improved a bit.

The Room, bathroom, bed, and TV are all spacious, creating an amazing sense of openness! It’s a short walk from the airport, but when I mentioned I had an early morning, they kindly accommodated my breakfast time. I was very satisfied and would love to stay again if I have the opportunity.

I chose this Hotel after reading Reviews myself. When I called to let them know I would be checking in late, the staff response was excellent and very courteous. The Room felt clean and was good. The bath had a spacious tub, and the amenities were also good. The nightwear was comfortable as well, and I thought it was a recommended Hotel. One disappointing point: the call starts with an automated message, which felt a bit bothersome.

Enjoy the stunning ocean view right in front of you and wash away all your daily stress. I indulged in my favorite Takezaki crab and fully enjoyed Tara! (laughs) The morning coffee was also delightful. Thank you very much. It would have been even better if the amenities were more comprehensive. I wished there were a few more towels available.
