We’re repeat guests for the cats, delicious food, and the cozy comfort of having everything you need right in the Room. This time my husband came with us too. The kids were thrilled with the maisonette and the open-air bath. We also love the skincare amenities such as lotion—they’re from a brand we like. We were so happy to finally spend time with the cats again. Since this was our first summer stay, we were told, “You might find stag beetles on the balcony,” and there were so many (surprisingly)! We took some home and are taking good care of them. Thank you for all your thoughtful consideration. Dinner was served at perfect timing—hot dishes hot and cold dishes cold—and my husband really enjoyed how delicious everything was. For breakfast we chose Japanese this time; the clay-pot rice selected by a rice meister was outstanding. Our child asked for seconds again and again. Everything was perfect except that the children’s pajamas we borrowed felt smaller than expected for their size. Thank you as always for your warm welcome—it made for an amazing start to our summer vacation. We’d love to come back again.

We stayed here last year and had such a wonderful time that we definitely wanted to come back. This year, we chose our travel destination mainly because we wanted to stay at this Accommodation again, and it did not disappoint. Our Room had an indoor bath, but the open-air bath was so relaxing that we never even found time to use the indoor one (laughs). This is truly an Accommodation we want to return to again. I’ve been staying here every year for the past few years, and I’m always extremely satisfied no matter when I visit! The Room, the bath, and the meals are all wonderful—especially the staff’s hospitality, which is outstanding! Everything is taken care of so thoughtfully. The welcome service offered plum wine, black vinegar, juice, sweets, and ice cream. We arrived early and were able to relax until dinner even after taking a bath. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and with free-flowing natural hot spring water, we could enjoy the Onsen anytime. The Room was excellent. The food was buffet-style, featuring local vegetables and specialties, along with many delicious dishes made with health in mind. I don’t often get the chance to visit Akita, but this is an Accommodation I would definitely like to return to. Thank you very much.

Despite being in the city center, the hot spring is 100% free-flowing from the source, with no added water and no heating. The water was excellent. Breakfast is free, so I expected it to be nothing special—but I was completely wrong. It was a substantial breakfast that made me wonder if it was really okay to offer it for free. There were welcome sweets, we even received bottled drinks before departure, and there were various games and activities available, so we never got bored during our stay and were very satisfied.

After enjoying canoeing in Kushiro, we arrived and were immediately impressed by the spacious, beautiful entrance. The lobby, centered around an irori hearth, felt wonderfully open and soothing with its charming design. Every member of the staff was truly welcoming, making our stay relaxing and comfortable. The milk soft-serve and milk were rich and flavorful, and the morning daifuku and ozenzai were also delicious. This is our number one Accommodation we’d love to visit again.

Thank you very much for everything. Choosing this place for a long-awaited reunion with our friends as a couple was absolutely the right decision. We booked two Rooms, and although we spent time together except when sleeping, the space was spacious and comfortable. We got so caught up chatting that we used the bath twice a day, morning and night, and our friends were also impressed by how wonderful it was. Thank you to T, whom M recommended. The conversation was enjoyable, and we truly had a great time—you completely won us over. The four of us were able to enjoy delicious food in a spacious private dining Room. We would be happy if we could see M and T again next time.

I personally love the Genroku-no-Yu bath, though it may not be to everyone’s taste. The route to the annex can be hard to find, so it’s best to ask the front desk for clear directions first.

Dinner included some Western-style dishes as well, and everything was delicious. The lobby’s complimentary drinks offered a great variety, and we enjoyed plenty without hesitation. We thoroughly enjoyed the Room’s Onsen (gold and silver springs), sauna, and pool many times. Thank you very much. We look forward to visiting again in a different season to enjoy the meals and Onsen!

My first time at Myoban Onsen. I’m excited to be able to stay at Okamotoya, which is highly rated in guidebooks. I was very satisfied with the milky-blue water. The Room was just the right size for one person and had a great view, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The dessert pudding and the orange juice at breakfast were especially appreciated since I don’t drink alcohol. Since this is a Multiple Night Stay, it really helped that they provided extra yukata and towels. Just one thing: at dinner on the first day, the rice and soup were a bit lukewarm (it was fine on the second day). Also, perhaps due to the season, the seating was quite close to other guests during meals, which made it a little hard to eat comfortably. Still, I’m so satisfied that I’d definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for your warm hospitality. Thanks to the proprietress’s thoughtful care, we were able to forget our daily routine and enjoy a wonderfully relaxing time. Both the cuisine and the Onsen were excellent, and we felt refreshed in both body and mind. Above all, your heartfelt hospitality left a lasting impression on us. We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of four nights. Above all, this Accommodation is truly pet-friendly. We visited with both a dog and a cat, and they both seemed relaxed and happy. There were plenty of amenities for dogs and cats, plus facilities such as a dog run. We could stay with peace of mind, and all the staff clearly love animals, which made our time here even more special. The Japanese staff were wonderful as expected, and the international staff were also incredibly polite—so much so that we initially thought they were Japanese—always with warm smiles. It gave us the sense that the training and working environment here must be excellent. The staff deserve more than five stars. Meals are à la carte, so you can choose whatever you like each day in any amount you want. This was especially appreciated during our Multiple Night Stay, and everything was consistently above average in taste. They offer a great balance of both Japanese and Western dishes, so we never got bored. Every day was delicious. Alcohol at night at the bar, as well as drinks in the Room refrigerator, are included, which is very reassuring for those who enjoy drinking. In addition, 30 minutes of spa treatment per day was included; I even received a massage and felt truly healed. The Room was neither too large nor too small—just right for two people—and it was well designed and easy to use. The hot spring water left our skin smooth and glossy; it was excellent. Both the indoor bath and open-air bath are fed directly from the source (free-flowing), and we could adjust both volume and temperature using only the natural spring water. It’s pure luxury. These days many Hotels or Ryokan only allow smoking in designated areas, so being able to smoke on our private terrace attached to the Room is something smokers will really appreciate, especially if you want to have a drink on the terrace while enjoying a cigarette. Because the terrace is surrounded by high walls, our cat could also go for walks there safely. Cats tend to run off easily, so it’s rare to let them stroll freely—this was another great point. Our cat looked completely at ease. It was our first time visiting Kikuchi City. There are many wonderful places nearby including Kikuchi Gorge, and Aso is less than an hour away by car, making sightseeing very convenient. Since there is a university stable near this Accommodation, there may occasionally be a slight animal smell, but that isn’t an issue caused by this Accommodation itself. And since this is an Accommodation that pet lovers choose specifically because they travel with animals, I think it’s simply something not to worry about (it didn’t bother me). This is a fantastic Accommodation where you can truly relax with your pets. Thank you very much.

I soaked 9 times over a 3-day, 2-night stay. That’s because you can bathe all night long except for three hours in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. It’s so relaxing that your everyday fatigue feels like a lie. The Onsen quality is truly the best. This time, my skin checker even showed an age of 25. Thanks to the “Beautiful Skin Deity.”

My first time at Zao Onsen. I love sulfur springs, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the indoor bath and the open-air bath. It was lightly raining, but they had a hat-like cover (like what Jizo statues wear) available so my head wouldn’t get wet. Thanks to that, I was able to relax in the open-air bath as well.\nThe meals were also excellent—Yamagata beef and all the other dishes were delicious. The rice was Tsuyahime, making for a high-quality dinner with local ingredients.\nThanks to the staff’s warm smiles and attentive service, I had a wonderful time.

I stayed here with my husband in winter last time, and this time with our daughter as a group of three. The Room was beautiful and spotless, and the open-air bath was wonderful. The large public bath was also quiet, and we were able to relax at our own pace. The meals were truly delicious, and we enjoyed them with our eyes as well, served in refreshing-looking tableware. The staff were kind, and we had a very comfortable stay. Next time, I’d like to visit in spring. This is my favorite Accommodation.

The milky white sulfur spring felt surprisingly gentle—hard to believe it is strongly acidic—and wrapped our bodies softly. It was a truly special Onsen that made us want to soak again and again. We felt that being able to enjoy such wonderful baths so comfortably is thanks to everyone who carefully cleans and manages the Accommodation each day. My family and I have stayed at Yamagatakan many times, and we never get tired of it. The meals are plentiful, the futons in the guest Room are fluffy and comfortable, the warm green tea in the Room is delicious, and the Onsen is nicely hot and very relaxing. We also bought a cute Mameshiba plush as a souvenir—it’s adorable. My dad, my mom, and I all love Yamagatakan, and we’d like to visit again.

From the Accommodation’s architecture to the bath and cuisine, every detail reflected excellent taste, allowing us to enjoy an elegant and special time of relaxation surrounded by art. As there seem to be various Room types available, we would love to return and stay in a different Room next time. Thank you very much.

I was satisfied with everything—the Onsen, the service, and the meals. Soaking in the Onsen while looking out over the Tamagawa River, I was able to enjoy a truly elegant and relaxing time. The only potential issue is that parts of the road to the Hotel are unpaved, so if you’re not confident driving, I recommend using the Hotel’s Shuttle Service. If there is no snowfall or rain, driving is not a problem at all.

Not only the building itself, but also the hanging scrolls and other details in the Room were wonderful, allowing us to spend a relaxing time while appreciating art and culture. As we stayed on a weekday, I mentioned at check-in that I was interested in the building, and the Accommodation staff kindly showed us several of Meijikan’s highlight Rooms. My parents and I were very satisfied. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality. The in-room dining was also excellent, including freshly cooked white rice prepared right in front of us and abalone with a tender bite. We will visit again.
